Halfdays earns mixed reviews: many report flattering, warm ski jackets and base layers that perform on cold powder days and in harsh conditions, while others criticize inconsistent quality and sizing. Reviews praise chic colors, thoughtful features like phone leashes and ample pockets, and comfortable, supportive base layers, but note issues such as jackets attracting dirt, glued pockets failing after washing, limited length options, and fit challenges for curvier or high waist-to-hip ratios.

Was super excited to snag a Halfdays Pieper fleece through Thingdrop since it's such a popular item recommended by the outdoor girlies online. I originally got the X-Large for an oversized fit but found it to be too large, so I exchanged it for a Large – I'm typically a medium in all tops for a comfortable fit and am happy with the Large. I'd size down to a Medium next if I wanted a more fitted look. The sleeves are a bit long (as seen in the first photo) but nothing I'm not used to being petite (5'-2"). Overall super happy with the fleece and it's gotten a lot of wear this season with the cold NYC winter.

I was very excited to try Halfdays during the Thingdrop. I love the idea of cute yet performance focused ski clothes. I ordered the ski pants in a size medium. They fit really well with some room but with an adjustable waist. The polartec fleece is nice too and can be worn often! I haven’t used them on the slopes yet so I can’t say how warm they will keep me, but so far so good. UPDATE - I wore the fleece and the gaiter all winter long and they kept me so warm. Hold up so well.

I’ve really been loving this fleece way more than I thought I would. It’s soft, warm, and the color is really great. It’s been the perfect cold weather accessory as a layer under a heavier jacket and on its own. I’ve worn it for walks and out to dinner. I really like how far the half zip goes so I can put it on without messing up my hair and then be able to zip it up all the way to under my chin to keep my neck warm. The front and back pocket are really nice, I don’t have to bring a bag on my walks I can just use those for necessities; they’re very spacious and zip so I can see them being very useful when wearing this jacket out hiking or skiing. I’m about 5’5 with a medium build and got a size large. I like the oversized look but it does allow wind and chill to get up under it so wearing a tight layer under is essential if I need to stay really warm. I think if I sized down it would be better as there’s no cinching chord on the bottom. I still think it would be a slight issue and I prefer the roomier fit. My only complaints are the cost and the no cinching chord on the bottom. Other than that, I love it, I wear it all the time and I do see myself buying another color despite the cost.

I tried a pair of hiking pants (the Bastille) I was super excited for, but "made for women" doesn't necessarily mean hips are compensated for in the cut. The legs fit well but the waist gap was huge, and cinching the built-in belt made for an uncomfortable waistband and not-cute bunching. Sadly returned, might try the base layers or tops but if you've got a high waist-to-hip ratio, this may not be the brand for pants for you.

I liked the jacket, but was very disappointed with the company’s integrity. I purchased a significant amount from them—almost $2,000 worth. Before ordering, I subscribed to their list to receive the advertised 10% discount, which was meaningful given the size of the purchase. I waited several days for the discount email, but it never arrived. I ultimately had to place the order in time for an upcoming ski trip. At the same time, I contacted customer service to explain the situation, expecting they would recognize the issue and honor the discount. They were polite, but instead of applying the 10% discount to my $2,000 order, they offered it on a future purchase “as a courtesy.” That response was disappointing. Whether by design or due to a flaw in their system, they failed to deliver on their promotion—and this was how they chose to handle it. I received the order and returned all of it. There are plenty of other independent ski clothing brands that do not treat customers this way. I rarely write reviews—good or bad—but felt compelled to share this negative experience with Halfdays.

Stylish but still functional. I bought an Aston jacket last season, which worked great on the slopes (with adequate base layers) - convenient pocket locations and a good length. I wish their ski pants came in a longer length option, but alas. I just added a fleece (nothing that a bunch of other brands don’t also sell) and the ugly-cute Hoka mocs which are very warm and have good grip.

Love the variety of the clothing options. They have cute color options. I love the base layers because they have a wide band and a thicket compressive material so everything stays supportive and in place. The bottom of the top has grippers so it will help with not rolling up. The bastille pants are a night lightweight material and very stretchy. Love all the pocket options and high waist

Every item that I have purchased from Halfdays has been an absolute winner so far. They are incredibly high quality, super soft, and extremely comfortable. I also love that Halfdays items can be worn both in my day to day life, and on the slopes or other outdoor activities. Such great investment pieces - especially as someone who lives in a cold climate (Chicago)!

Pros: The Nellie jacket is honestly really great. I got one of the limited colors (Cherry), and since I received it, it’s become a weekly staple for me. Living in the Bay Area, a puffer is basically an all-weather jacket. I like that it has snaps for the cuffs, a drawstring for the bottom hem, and a tall enough collar (able to be folded down!) which help protect against the wind more. The jacket is roomy enough to fit a big sweater underneath (I ordered true to size). Packing it into itself is really easy, and the luggage handle loop is a nice feature. The zippers seem good quality, too. There are also hanging loops at the inside and outside at the neck which are nice touches. Didn’t notice any stitching problems, which I appreciated and hopefully is a good sign about their manufacturers because soo many brands at high price points have stitching issues now. Cons: The lining feels a little flimsy, maybe because it’s a little loose. Idk if it’s because of the packability and I hope it isn’t a bad sign for longevity, but I think it’s something to note. Also, due to the slippery material and the oversized fit, the jacket can slip back in its positioning while you’re wearing it (so the front rides up more). I think this happens mostly when I’m carrying a bag on my shoulder. And the only reason this bothers me is because the seams on the side pockets kinda get in the way of easily sliding your hands in. So when it has slid back a bit, I need to readjust my bag and my jacket to get my keys out, for example. And when you’re carrying heavy groceries, it’s a little annoying. Also because it’s slippery, if I’m carrying a bag with a lighter load on my shoulder, the straps constantly slip off. I assume this happens with other puffers, though, so this comment is more about advising others for lifestyle match rather than a knock on the product itself. The price is quite high, and I’m not sure that it actually offers more in terms of quality/sustainability. The jacket lining is 100% recycled and 45% of the outer is also recycled, and it’s made in Vietnam. Besides Halfdays being a small business, I didn’t find substantial information about sustainability/working conditions which would explain a higher price point than other brands with similar products. Overall: I really like the jacket and will continue wearing it. But I’m glad I got it through Thingdrop and didn’t (in the end) pay full price for it.

Purchased a matching ski set on sale last spring. This past winter was my first Tim putting it to the test and I'm obsessed. I got a ton of compliments and felt more confident on the slopes. Tons of great features like a phone strap and convenient pockets really seal the deal.

i recently bought the emma ski pant in sage green and i love them! pretty stain resistant and super cute, great fit and good pockets! the material feels nice and it kept me warm. haven't worn them on a super cold day just yet but overall i really liked them and will continue to buy half days products for their fun colors and good materials.

I was so excited to use my new outfit. The colors and design are nice. But I was surprised when I washed and all the pockets on my jacket came unglued. They were poorly made. I used just one weekend. I don’t recommend buying this brand unless you don’t care if it is going to last. I didn’t receive any explanation from the brand why it happened and because I bought at the sales they use it to not fix or return. It was clearly a problem of fabrication. So think twice!

I'm an early adopter and this is my 3rd snow season wearing Halfdays. Their ski / snowboard wear is AMAZING and I recommend Halfdays to all of my snow girlfriends. Not only are their pieces super functional and comfortable -- their technical construction holds up even in harsh conditions -- but everything is so flattering, cute and really fills a specific gap in the market that many of us snow ladies have been looking for. While they sold out of many colors and sizes their first 2 years, their supply chain / forecasting seems to have gotten a lot better and pieces were much easier to get for the 22/23 snow season. Overall, I'm so excited to see where the brand will grow.

LACK OF DIVERSITY that feels intentional – I do find it odd that Halfdays does not feature their POC customers on their social media. The only women of color are the professional models they feature in their photoshoots, but I've noticed even when it comes to Instagram stories and on their feed, they either A) avoid tagging creators / customers of colors even when they repost / use their content and B) only utilize a network of non-woc microinfluencers despite having a diverse customer base. Maybe it's a bias that they are unaware of, but my many female friends of color and I have noticed this absence and it is a little uncomfortable.

The only reason I am not giving this brand one star is because I love the color palettes and the undershirts. The ski jackets, however, are 0/5. Why? I have white pants from another brand and a blue ski jacket from this brand. You would think the white pants would be the ones to get dirty or at least more dirty. Ironically, it’s the other way around. Worse, not only does dirt not come off of the jacket, but it seems to literally attract it.
As a shorter curvy girl it is hard to find good ski pants at the right length as well as fitting my hips to waist ratio. After trying 10+ other brands, I finally found the perfect pair - in multiple styles. The quality is not as high as other brands at similar price points but for how they fit I would say it's so worth it. The range of colours is so fun too, although I just went with navy. I will note to make sure you look at the material composition before buying their base layers though. They also offer a coupon if you exchange and select store credit – wish I had known that before placing a second order and returning some of the first items I bought in attempt to find the perfect size.

Loved the marketing and the concept of ski gear created just for women, but the quality just wasn’t there so I returned both the pants and jacket. Maybe a good choice for someone who skis once a year and mostly for the photos, but not a great choice for anyone skiing more than a few days a year or in cold climates. Huge bummer because I loved their color selection! Edited to add: I just ended up getting a more traditional brand (Obermeyer) for way cheaper than Halfdays since it was end of season, and the quality is so good! Makes me feel like I made the right choice.
The web and packaging experience were so nice. Refreshing to see such fun colors. Wanted to see that reflected more in some of the undergarments.

Wish they had goggles, gloves, and socks too! Also wish the price point was a little bit more affordable
I LOVE my Halfdays Lawrence Jacket. It kept me so warm, even at 0°F on the mountain. There are little, thoughtful touches that make this jacket above and beyond other jackets - such as the exterior chest pocket with attached phone leash. I never felt like I was going to lose my phone when checking email on the ski lift! 100% recommend snagging one of their jackets (TTS in my experience).

I would love to see some extended sizing / inclusive sizing in the future as well as more products to come from these guys! Returns are easy but the refund process is S L O W.
Lovely colors and design. I bought the yellow base layer and a set of skiwear. It's more suitable for skiing than snowboarding since the pants are slim and have no room for a hip protector unless you size up. Water resistance is good and the design is really chic.

My second order took a very long time to arrive due to international shipping to Canada. Customer service was slow to respond, but finally sent me a new package which arrived a few days later and gave me a partial refund.
I’m obsessed with this brand. Their base layers are the only base layers I will wear. Great price point for the quality.
