Fly by Jing delivers bold, versatile Sichuan-inspired condiments that, according to reviews, elevate everything from eggs and noodles to dumplings—Zhong Sauce and the OG Sichuan Chili Crisp draw repeated praise for layered umami, balanced heat, and everyday usability. Reviews also flag notable drawbacks: some find the chili crisp too oily, less crispy or milder than expected, with occasional smoky bitterness and jar leakage—plus comparisons to Lao Gan Ma or Momofuku on flavor and spice—and some mention inconsistent crunch and a need to stir.

It's okay. Have some kicks to it but I still prefer Lao Gan Ma better. It's more pungent with the Sichuan pepercorn. However, if there is no other options or if the product is on sale I will probably consider using it as substitute
I have been looking for a good chili crisp! I’ve found it! Deliciously garlicky, perfect spice level, the best complement to take your meal to the next level! Yes, go get you some!
We use the chili crisp for everything, eggs, pasta and rice!! A lot of other product have too much oil and less crisp but Jing has a perfect combo in the jar
Delicious and a great gift for any foodie friends or family!
Spicy and zesty. Great flavor!

I just finished off my first jar of Fly by Jing Sichuan chili crisp! The actual chilis, garlic bits, and shallots are absolutely delicious; they add excellent flavor and texture to a wide range of dishes. However, I found the oil itself to be surprisingly bland. To improve this product, I would increase the crisp-to-oil ratio!

Good stuff. Transforms most foods into a flavorful Schezwan-tasting dish.
My husband loves Fly by Jing. He puts it on absolutely everything. Ice cream, beans, grilled cheese. Everythinggggg. We buy probably at least two jars a month!
Great, high quality chili garlic oil.
The Fly By Jing Sichuan Gold Chili Oil adds a delightful kick to any dish. It transforms simple meals into much more delicious creations. For food enthusiasts seeking bold and exciting flavors, it’s an absolute must-have.
This product will take your culinary skills to the next level. You get a taste of Asia without the expensive price tag. I will definitely be purchasing again.
This stuff is really good, the flavour is excellent and I use this as a rice topper, seasoning for eggs or add it into marinades for dishes. I will say though, it's really not that spicy and expected more kick for the 'xtra spicy'. I don't think my spice tolerance is really that high - more so average but this is something that my sensitive husband can handle so that to me confirms it really isn't 'xtra spicy' I would place this at a 4/10 on spice level. I would like to see a chili crisp that really makes me sweat! Overall the flavour is good so I will continue purchasing it. I am not sure what it is and it's not listed but I get hints of anise which is really nice.
Such a flavor chili oil that packs a punch. I find it to be more flavorful compared to other readily available chili oil crunches. I keep my pantry stocked with this. Only down side is it can be pricey but it’s worth it to me since I use it so often.
SO flavorful, but doesn't leave your mouth on fire. The perfect topping for dumplings, noodles, smashed cucumbers, etc.

Yummy!! I bought the Sichuan chili crisp. I just used it on roasted brussels sprouts. I drizzled it on mashed avocado that I warm up in the oven and put a sunny side up egg on top of. Tomorrow, I am going to use it on baked potatoes.

Love their fun mala take on chilli crisp! I liked it a lot because I love the mala spice, but my husband doesn't love it, so we haven't repurchased (currently have limited space). We've tried a few other brands, but we always go back to Lao Gan Ma as our beloved middle ground. Fly by Jing is like a combination of the Lao Gan Ma fermented black bean chili oil and spicy chilli crisp, PLUS the mala numbing element. We also liked their dumplings, but they've since discontinued them.
Very good if you like mouth numbing spice. I tried both the sichuan chili crisp and the xtra spicy chili crisp. Both had a mouth numbing spice, the xtra spicy spicy sensation kicks in after and lingers. The sichuan flavor was very potent and good with smoky notes. Very good on rice. The only con was that is was more of an oil and not much crunch/ crisp in the sauce.

I don't understand the fanaticism over these sauces. While they have interesting flavors, they are made with very unhealthy and unsustainable ingredients—supremely the soybean oil and canola oil, which are made from commodity crops that are bad for the earth and devoid of nutrition. I also don't see anything on the website about testing for heavy metals, use of regeneratively grown ingredients, etc. Thus, I would prefer to make my own or find another brand. I also find the branding unattractive and unappealing.
absolutely delicious. my first introduction to chili crisp oil was everyone's obsession with TJ's version a couple of years ago. when i finally got my hands on TJ's version, i was sorely disappointed. all i tasted was olive oil without a speck of spice. fortunately, i got to try 'fly by jing' and was blown away. fly by jing comes in a glass jar, and as soon as you open it, you're greeted with an intense smell of spices and an intensely colored concoction. that's when i knew i was in for a delightful treat. the chili crisp is properly crunchy with sizeable pieces of chili, garlic, black beans, and shallots. i loved that the chili crisp tasted like more than just oil? it was umami filled probably from the mushroom and seaweed powder. just insanely delicious. i tried it on avocado toast, instant ramen, and an egg salad sandwich, all super delicious and spicy. my spice tolerance isnt as good as it used to be so around a teaspoon was good enough to enjoy the pleasant numbing sensation. the one downside, however, is the product has a tendency to leak for some reason. despite screwing the lid on as tight as possible, it will leak if you lean it lol. just be careful! i look forward to trying their other flavors especially the mala spice blend.
