Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • This is the best pasta alternative that I’ve tried. If cooked right, it’s not bad! I decided eventually it’s not worth the health benefits for just eating real pasta.

  • Tastes really great and I love how much protein it includes. I can’t really notice a difference in texture between Banza and other competitors. What a great product!

  • This is our family's go-to pasta brand. Tastes like regular pasta, but a smidge healthier. Lots of noodle options.

  • Chickpea pasta is something that needed to happen! As a long-time vegan, I have a love of anything chickpea and Banza is no exception. For some reason, I like it raw and crunchy - literally not cooked. I eat it like a cracker and love it that way. Banza is the best.

  • I think when it comes to products like these, there's more work that goes into the marketing than the taste. What I mean is it's “okay”. I like the gluten-free factor, but it's not as good as lentil.

  • I don’t have gluten issue but I like to explore my horizon to a variety of products as long as they don’t break my wallet. I’m opt for healthy option but it also needs to come with taste. I found chickpea pasta suits my needs.

  • I love chickpea so I try a lot of things that are chickpea related 😀. I like the texture a lot, a bit chewy and not as plain as the regular pasta.

  • My son says it was ok. Probably wouldn’t try again.

  • My kids love it, my wife loves it, a winner all around.

  • I've used many of the Banza pastas. They never disappoint. They are def one of my favorite gluten free pastas. Great flavor and never mushy.

  • First time trying a chickpea-based pasta and I thought it was surprisingly good! When you add your favorite sauce, you can hardly taste the difference.

  • Banza is a great alternative when you’re trying to cut back from carbs and add some plant protein to your diet. It doesn’t taste as good as regular pasta but still is delicious. It does have a little mushy texture though.

  • good pasta, but be careful to not cook it for too long as it will completely fall apart. also not ideal for leftovers as it does not reheat well without losing the structure.

  • The taste is good and satisfies a pasta craving, but the texture becomes gummy upon reheating. First serving is always delicious and the gummy texture hasn’t stopped me from polishing off leftovers.

  • My go to pasta for upping protein on my intuitive eating journey!!! I’m a huge pasta lover so I was worried that the texture and taste would be gross having had other chickpea based pasta, but Banza really has it down. It’s the closest I’ve found to a traditional pasta with it having a non-offensive mouthfeel and neutral taste. I love being able to eat my comfort food while also getting more protein.

  • I've been a fan of Banza products for a few years now and have always been satisfied with the products I've tried, and I appreciate that they are high protein and low glycemic! I have tried the veggie and Margherita pizzas (both great but especially love the veggie), the Mac and Cheese, and all of the pasta varieties except for the spaghetti and orzo. The one issue that some may run into is overcooking the pasta and having it clump or turn into mush -- you have to remember this isn't technically pasta but chickpeas, so there will be a smaller window of time when the pasta is just right. In my experience 7-8 minutes on medium-high heat is just enough.

  • Great products and diversification. Every once in a while I get a weird texture from their pastas but incredible swap for pasta with some extra protein!

  • These actually fill me up which I really like. Knowing that it's healthier for you and it has such cute packaging is lowkey what sold me.
