Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • TLDR: Never got a chance to try the products because the package was destroyed during shipping, but their customer service was prompt and issued a refund right away; 5/5 for customer service. I didn't feel it fair to give a lower review based on their shipping partner alone, although I'd argue it's a very important step in DTC, as they're the last to handle the product before it reaches you. The box looked like it was tossed and busted open, and the dry ice was all gone. The pizzas inside were room temperature and all the cardboard damp. Overall, this was not a pleasant experience, and there's SO much waste; I was shocked at how huge the package was. I wouldn't feel good ordering again knowing how much waste is produced from shipping four small pizzas. Hopefully Banza will consider a new shipping partner moving forward.

  • I have been gluten-free for over 10 years and have tried many different pizza crusts. Most of the time, they end up being soggy, flavorless, or crumbly. However, Banza is different. I love that it has more protein than traditional cauliflower pizza and fewer carbs. I also love that it gets crispy when you bake it and the crust holds up the next day if you have leftovers.

  • I love Banza's products, from the pizza to the rice to the pasta. I'd say generally that all of the products are just slightly worse than traditional pizza, rice and pasta, but the protein and broader macronutrient composition more than makes up for the very slight hit on taste. I try to have a large portion of my carbs come from legumes, and Banza is my go-to!

  • I use their pasta weekly. It is a staple in my kitchen. I use the pasta, with the truff pasta sauce, and some meatballs with a side of veggies and it is truly my favorite meal to make when I am lazy but need something filling. So easy and so delicious. Highly recommend trying if you're looking for alternatives to typical pasta. I want to try their pizza next!

  • Banza pasta is a staple in our household. Due to being gluten sensitive, we had to find an alternative to traditional pasta. We tried several brands and chose Banza for many reasons including the high protein and fiber content as well as how Banza tastes. Banza tastes just like regular pasta! I have used all of the different pasta shapes/types that Banza offers and find them all to work well with the dishes I make.

  • This review is for the Margherita pizza: First off, the pizzas arrived in a cute orange box that says “PIZZA NIGHT EVERY NIGHT.” Love that! We cooked the pizza according to directions, but cooked it on a pre-warmed pizza stone. The crust came out nice and crispy, yet still doughy on the inside. It didn't have that fresh pizza taste that you get from pizza places, but it was on par with good quality frozen pizzas that we've eaten. Pros: - Crust is on par with other frozen pizzas - Didn't have that chalky/grainy texture that other "healthy" alternatives tend to have - Tasty tomato sauce - Excellent choice for those with certain diet restrictions - High in protein and fiber ++++++ - Zero added sugar - Ready in 15 minutes or less Cons: - No cheesy cheese pull :( Super tasty, great choice for an easy, nutritious dinner. If the pizza just had that cheesy pull like pictured on the box, it would be a solid 5/5 stars. --- I also want to shout out customer service for being so pro-active! I ordered a 4-pack, but was accidentally shipped only 1 pizza. Before my wrong order even arrived, they had already remedied the issue and sent out an additional four. Props to the Banza team!

  • UPDATE: When a thingdrop was offered to try their pizza I was hoping for a healthier pizza. We did enjoy the pizza when it was cooked but there were some downsides with receiving the pizzas. I first only got one pizza but it was caught early and fixed with a second package coming the next day. The first package though did not arrive as expected. The box was squished and the pizza had defrosted inside. The second package arrived correctly and was great. Their customer support was amazing. Contacting me about the mess up and then correcting the situation.

  • I tried the Chickpeas rice and it was different, good but definitely different texture. It is a little softer than regular rice which was new to me. However, the seasoning in the package was very tasty :)

  • Such an healthy option to regular past. I love Banza's products, specially the chickpea rotini. There's usually a funny taste in these non-wheat pastas. But that's not the case for Banza. It's great to know you're eating something healthy and with great taste!

  • As someone who can’t process gluten well and has a hard time hitting protein goals, this is my go-to GF pasta and I will always return back to it. Always makes for a good, protein packed, easy dinner and, for me, doesn’t taste much different than regular boxed pastas. Watch out for a very foamy boil (it can easily spill over depending on how much your pot is filled) and opt for the sturdier tubular shapes if you don’t want breakage.

  • As someone who tried to avoid gluten, I LOVE this option for pasta night. The texture and taste is so similar to what you would expect from an Italian meal. We usually have a box on hand at all times.

  • I really like this pasta. I enjoy the chewier texture (normal pasta is almost never chewy enough for me), and I like the healthier nutritional profile. I also like more interesting shapes - the gemelli is a fun little twisted shape

  • As someone who is looking to switch to high-protein foods, this pasta was the easiest swap. It doesn't taste any different than normal pasta, however, it can get easily overcooked (the first time I used an instant pot to cook the pasta it got way too soggy). I buy a large pack from Costco because it's a great deal and pasta won't go bad too quickly.

  • This is the only pasta I like to eat. I've tried a lot of gluten free pastas and they can be mushy or just generally have a weird texture (yuck!) Banza keeps its shape, has a great texture, and the chickpeas help me reach my daily protein goals. My favorite is penne and my partner likes cavatappi.

Consider Banza if you need a gluten free pasta or to add protein to your meal. It cooks in 7 minutes and the texture is chefs kiss!

  • Banza is the vegan girls dream (or for any pasta lover looking to elevate their plate with a bit more protein). Gluten free, minimally processed and in all the fun shapes Banza is a great addition + once you try it > will quickly become a pantry staple. Highly recommend!!

  • This is what I found out today and am very disappointed. No more needs to be said. Not sustainable, NOT ORGANIC!!!! BEWARE glyphosate is the toxic chemical found in Roundup and other garden products and your food!!! This product is cancer causing all over the world.

    None, just bought it
  • I'm so glad I finally tried this. The texture and mouth feel are reminiscent of whole wheat pasta, while the flavor reminded me of both standard durum pasta and whole wheat pasta. Yes, it foams a bit; rinsing helps. But wow, because of the high protein and fiber content, it's both filling and enjoyable to eat.

  • Banza is my go to for pasta in our house. I struggle to have my toddler eat veggies but he loves this brand and I am a happy mom! I love that they aren’t griddy like some alternative pastas that I’ve tried. Absolutely delicious.

  • I really enjoy Banza products, and recommend them regularly to clients and friends. I really appreciate their dietitian ambassador program, and have certainly become a bigger fan because of it. Their pastas are good. They're texture is a big more rough and the taste is a little more earthy than regular pasta, but if it has a flavorful sauce or used in a pasta salad, I don't notice a huge difference! The pizza is really delicious, and very comparable to your typical frozen pizza. I think sometimes if I have a large serving, I may experience some gas and bloating, but that is rare and can even happen with vegetables or other high fiber foods. Overall, the Banza products are healthier alternative to your typical pastas and pizzas, and I really enjoy incorporating them into my favorite meals!

  • LOVE the Banza protein rice. For me— I love using in in place of orzo in orzo skillet recipes. It’s great for extra protein and doesn’t have any weird texture or flavor like a lot of other protein products do! Definitely will be purchasing it again. Though I will say it does come with a bit of a price tag (I believe mine was $4.99 vs $1-$3 pasta) but I look to get it when it’s on sale so the price is a bit more reasonable:)
