Reviews mention

  • Exceptionally comfortable cushioning
  • Lightweight, travel-friendly construction
  • Machine-washable, easy maintenance
  • Sustainable, minimalist aesthetic
  • Limited arch support comfort
  • Faster-wearing outsole tread
  • Wool uppers stain easily
  • Toe-box fabric thins

Allbirds earns strong reviews for exceptional comfort, light weight, and machine-washable ease, making Tree Runners, Wool Runners, and loungers reliable everyday and travel shoes; however, many note limited support for long walks/runs, faster tread wear and toe holes, wool styles running warm and staining easily, narrow sizing without half sizes, and a polarizing, sometimes “dated” look. Overall, the brand is good for casual wear and sustainability-minded buyers, but not ideal for heavy-duty performance or those needing robust arch support and long-term durability.

  • I like the look of Allbirds...for about a month. These shoes are a tech-world staple, but I hate how the shape of the shoe/material molds to your toes after normal wear and tear. And if you ever get them wet, good luck to ever get them looking how they did before the storm. I think there are more stylish, equally as eco friendly, and as comfy shoes out there on the market and would not repurchase these.

  • I have owned many pairs of allbirds over the years. The attention to detail from innovative sustainable materials used, to emphasis on the entire lifecycle of the product (how to dispose of your shoes) makes them stand out. Shoes have a cool look and are wildly comfortable.

  • LOVE my Allbirds! I have had several pairs of the wool trainers over the years and continue to love them. Easy to clean and throw in the wash and a great travel shoe. The only downside is I find them a tad too warm for the summer, warmer months.

  • I bought a pair of the ballet pumps when I was out wandering on my lunch hour. They are the most comfortable shoes ever. They are also made with sustainable materials and washable! The lady in the shop told me I could also wear them and take them back if I wasn’t impressed ( I didn’t). I’d like these in every colour! I would add, they could do with some different styles… I bought black ones which are non offensive so while they feel like a pair of slippers to wear, I’m sacrificing on styling options.

  • The shearling slippers are so cute. Most of their shoes lack arch support.

  • I love my Allbirds and so does my husband. We have the tree runners and I usually use one for pair for working out until they are too worn and then use them as street shoes. My oldest pair, probably around 2 years old recently got a hole in it so I will finally have to retire them.

  • Ah, Allbirds. Where do I start? The hype around these shoes is immense. They're touted as the comfiest things ever, and they’re eco-friendly – so I was all in! But let’s get real for a second. My experience was a bit of a roller coaster. I've got to give them props for the materials – using stuff like merino wool and recycled bottles, that's super cool. Plus, the simplistic design is kinda snazzy in a minimalist “I didn’t try too hard” sort of way. But here’s the downer - the fit. Goodness, it was like trying to jam a puzzle piece where it doesn’t belong. They just didn't mold to my feet the way I had dreamed they would. I even questioned if my feet were the issue. It wasn’t a Cinderella moment, let’s put it that way. I reached out to their customer service, which was actually pretty decent. They were polite and suggested I try breaking them in, but alas, my feet and Allbirds were like star-crossed lovers – not meant to be. On the bright side, I’ve seen friends who swear by them, so maybe it’s a hit or miss kinda deal? So, here’s the bottom line: if you’re looking for sustainable and stylish casual shoes and you happen to have the feet that Allbirds love, you might just find your sole-mate (see what I did there?). But if you’re like me and the fit isn’t magical, don’t say I didn’t warn you.

  • Okay the shoes aren’t bad but they aren’t that great either? I received a pair as a gift from a friend, but I wouldn’t have bought them myself. With so many other cute shoe brands out there, these would not be the ones I reach for…ever.

  • Obviously so comfortable! I love wearing these for commuting to & from work. The only thing I don't like so much is the style, I wish there were more options for the sneakers because I prefer platform. I also don't like that I can see my toes through the fabric.

  • It's a great quality shoe. My wife loves them. I like them but I have flat feet so the shoe is not sold in a wide so it's not supportive for flat fleet.

  • The softest trainers ever! Great team at the shop where I got them as well, super friendly and knowledgeable. Good variety as well.

  • People know Allbirds for the squishy wool sneakers, which I like just fine, but their clothes are a hidden gem. Made with sustainable materials, down to the packaging. The Sea tshirts are so soft and durable they’re my de facto uniform. The list price is like $48 but after paying that a few times and not even being that mad about it I discovered you can often get these for wayyy cheaper. Check out woot and other discount sites. Also love the workout joggers which have a merino blend. Some clothes have been a miss, so I recommend being prepared to return a few things here and there but overall 👍👍

  • I really loved these to start off with the but they advertise that you can wear them without socks and you def cannot if you like in a hot environment. No matter how much you wash them the smell never gets out. Better alternatives for the price.

  • I do believe the shoes are super comfortable; however, I wonder how supportive they are for your feet since the footbed doesn't seem to have a lot of support. They tend to make me trip since I had to size up. The wool material gets a little stretched out with wear. I just wonder about how the shoe will hold up once I wash them.

  • I travel lots, I love these shoes as they provide me so much comfort in all my long walks during my travels

  • They're great - not the most supportive (so anyone who is working on arch support / have chronic foot pain issues, I would proceed intentionally) - but they're so comfortable and I love the variety of shoe types and materials that they are continuously innovating!

  • Comfy shoes, but I feel like the wool warps over time and they don’t look as put together as they do with a first purchase. I would recommend the other fabrics over the OG wool sneakers.

Very fabric dependent for long term use. Newer fabrics hold up much better

  • I bought the waterproof merino wool shoes about 3 years ago for a trip to Japan (which ultimately never took place, thanks pandemic!) since it was perfect for a variable climate - Sometimes warm weather, sometimes snow. I really like the branding, the colourway, the mission and of course the use of merino wool. I also bought the exact same pair to my boyfriend.

I have since worn the shoes multiple times, including on rainy days, and have always found them to be a practical shoe. That said, although the shoe is mostly fabric, it is strangely uncomfortable on the upper part, where there are the laces. There is an unpleasant support that I have never been able to correct. I have never had this type of discomfort before. So I wouldn't tend to wear these shoes for hours, but for errands with varying temperatures, it's handy. They are quite expensive though, so I'm not sure I would buy them again if you ask me.

  • I think I have 7 (or more) pairs of allbirds and I love them all. They are super cute, SO comfy (like soooo comfy it’s insane, and no break in period!) I love the brand mission and their commitment to sustainability! My ONLY qualm with the shoe is that the merino wool insoles make my feet smell so horribly we sometimes have to keep the shoes outside our condo unit. And I have never in my life experienced smelly feet - even as a dancer for 8 years growing up. They’re supposed to be moisture wicking, but I found they held all the sweat and need to be replaced far more frequently than I’m willing to replace an insole.

  • Love my allbirds. They're great for wearing everyday and I bring them when I travel because they look good and I can walk all day in them. They're not supportive enough for running (at leasts the ones I have) but they're super comfortable for everyday wear. I love the colors and styles and feel like I'm supporting a company that's trying to be sustainable. I appreciate that.

They're definitely shoes you can feel good about. I love the simplicity and the idea that I'm wearing natural materials.
