Reviews mention

  • Exceptionally comfortable cushioning
  • Lightweight, travel-friendly construction
  • Machine-washable, easy maintenance
  • Sustainable, minimalist aesthetic
  • Limited arch support comfort
  • Faster-wearing outsole tread
  • Wool uppers stain easily
  • Toe-box fabric thins

Allbirds earns strong reviews for exceptional comfort, light weight, and machine-washable ease, making Tree Runners, Wool Runners, and loungers reliable everyday and travel shoes; however, many note limited support for long walks/runs, faster tread wear and toe holes, wool styles running warm and staining easily, narrow sizing without half sizes, and a polarizing, sometimes “dated” look. Overall, the brand is good for casual wear and sustainability-minded buyers, but not ideal for heavy-duty performance or those needing robust arch support and long-term durability.

  • I have had these for about two years now. It's great that you can put them in the wash. I also like their mission. The only thing that keeps me from buying more is that my feet tend to slide forward in them, thus pushing the toe box out. Good shoe for just hanging out.

  • I worked in an office and woresimple black flats every day. When my trusty pair gave up the ghost and it was time to get a new pair, I wanted something that would last longer and provide more support. Cue Allbirds. They aren't cheap, but it's apparent- the pair I got has lasted me for around 5 years. I still wear them - not daily, but they are my go-to for business casual events.

Very happy with my purchase and if the pair I got ever bite the dust, I'll be ordering another pair.

  • The Tree Runners have saved me on several European vacations with tons of walking. Iconic that you can throw in the washing machine and they come out good as new.

  • Light and stylish, I loved these shoes. I wouldn’t wear them repeatedly without socks again. They say that they won’t get smelly but they were no match for me.

I found that they ran a bit small. I wear a women’s 10 and mine took a bit of breaking in until they were stretched out enough for me.

  • Super comfortable! I got these for Christmas and wore them a few days later on a trip to Mexico City with a lot of walking involved. My feet didn't hurt even after walking on uneven surfaces for hours. Since then, they have been my go to shoes for walks with my dog. Very happy with these shoes!

  • I'm a big fan of Allbirds. I got the wool runners in white ~5 years ago and they're in great shape still. They're super soft and comfortable, almost feels like I'm not wearing shoes. I appreciate that you can throw them in the wash. They aren't as white as they were when I first bought them but they're still pretty clean since I've washed them over the years. I also have their newer canvas shoes which are super versatile - I wear them to workout, when going to the office, for casual occasions.

One suggestion I have is they should make a spot cleaner specifically for their shoes. After washing they sometimes still have spots and it'd be great if I could clean those away.

  • I just got the Mizzles (since I live in the PNW in the US and it is raining almost every day lately). I've been so shocked at how waterproof they actually are! I spent about 30 minutes walking in absolute downpour and my feet were completely dry when I got inside. They're much more comfortable to walk around in than rubber rain boots so these are becoming a staple in my daily life - warm, comfy, and great protection from the rain. I also gifted a pair to my dad for Christmas and he absolutely loves them. Allbirds for the whole fam!

  • I love the expanded product segments AB has recently ventured into. I was personally never a fan of their shoes, but the undergarments, socks and everyday basics have all the benefits of merino but are stylish so you avoid looking like you purchased your entire wardrobe at REI.

  • Why did it take me so long to try these?! They are so comfortable. I was looking for a new casual sneaker to pair with my street wear, and these are it. I also bought a more supportive pair for my mom and it is really helping her pain.

  • Super comfy shoes and excellent customer support.

I got the white ones because they're washable, but the dirt didn't come out at all in the wash. Easily returned to them (props to them for their customer support!)

  • I recently had to finally get rid of a pair of allbirds sneakers that had survived close to 4 years of relatively heavy use. The ability to machine wash them extends the life of the shoe, especially in the lighter colors, and they remain comfortable for a long period of wear.

These ran a little wide on me.

  • I've gotten multiple pairs and have gifted to others, so I'm definitely a fan. They're the perfect everyday sneaker for short to medium distances.

  • These shoes are incredibly comfortable.

For everyday wear they might not be the best, a friend of mine and I have both experienced feet issues due to having these be our everyday shoes. With that being said they're great to throw on for a quick errand.

  • I have the water resistant wool Mizzles and you know what? They're just okay. I believe hype is entirely deserved around ESG efforts and brand mission/vision, but I don't find the actual shoes any more or less comfortable than my other sneakers. Probably won't purchase a second pair.

  • These shoes are really innovative in that they are wool Ann’s super breathable, although you may not think so. They are comfortable and light but I’m not sure they have the best support.

    Feedback

I didn’t like the way my toes kinda made an imprint on the wool upper and I wish there was more support for arches and ankles

  • So so so comfy. I only have 1 pair, but I wear them all the time and am obsessed with them. They are great for when you will be on your feet and walking for a while because the cushion is unreal. They are a bit pricey but in my opinion, totally worth it.

Nothing I'm aware of! Excited to try your other shoe options.

  • Like wearing socially acceptable slippers outside your house. They're really some of the lightest, softest footwear that can still be called shoes. A podiatrist friend said they don't recommend them because some people need more support in their shoes, but for a casual day they're amazing. This is the shoe that educated me on how wasteful regular sneaker production is and made me a more conscientious shoe buyer overall.

    Feedback

    They're great.

  • I have wide feet, so it didn’t look the best for me. I know my friends love it but for me it didn’t work out sadly.

    Feedback

I know for one of their shoes the soles can break easily. I think its the treeflyers.

  • I have the wool slippers in gray and they’ve held up pretty well. I’ll have to get a new pair after a year or so of regular but basic use. My feet are a bit awk so my big toe did poke a hole in the right slipper. Do love the fashion and function!

    Feedback

    Reinforced material to prevent tears.

  • Love the shoes! I have had few pairs that seem to wear out after a few months of use or start smelling really bad fast. They are incredibly comfortable and the slip ons go with a ton of outfits.

    Feedback

I don’t own a washing machine and it’s hard to wash them. They seem to smell way worse than other shoes. Any way to keep them smelling good without constant washing?
