SALT & STONE earns polarized reviews: many say the brand is good—its natural deodorants and body care often work for everyday wear and smell exceptional—while others report inconsistent deodorant efficacy over time and scent longevity issues. Reviews praise elevated, gender-neutral fragrances like Santal & Vetiver, Bergamot & Hinoki, and Black Rose & Oud, plus chic packaging; drawbacks include white marks or foaming from deodorant, occasional irritation (baking soda), bulky or fragile packaging, and some sunscreens feeling thick or leaving a cast.

  • From the moment I tried it, the scent really grabbed me, it’s a woodsy mix of sandalwood and vetiver with a clean, sophisticated vibe, and I found myself actually enjoying how my under-arms smelled rather than hiding them. Reviewers who like it call it “one of the best natural deodorants” and praise how smooth it goes on and the “luxury” feel. The texture is balm-stick (or gel in some variants) that glides rather than tugs, and the brand’s focus on clean ingredients, aluminum-free, with seaweed extracts and probiotics, is a solid plus. If you’re looking for a stylish, clean-ingredient deodorant with a standout scent and actually decent performance for everyday use, then this is a strong pick. If you’re someone who needs extreme sweat control or has very intense workouts every day, you might want to pair it with something more heavy-duty for those times.

  • This is the best smelling body wash I have ever used. I can’t say more amazing things about it. I’m obsessed with the scent and it actually is long lasting. I have the lotion as well and I just love the scent . It lasts a long Time and is very worth it.

  • I have mixed feelings on the deodorant. I sometimes think I can still smell body odor despite applying the deodorant at least once a day. It’s possible I’m just not use to natural deodorant but for how much it costs I’m not sure I will repurchase.

  • This brand makes lovely products with luxurious scents and minimalist packaging. The scented body lotion is a nice luxury and makes a great gift, but I do think there are so many cheaper options now. The Santal scent has become so popular, and this scent isn't unique anymore. I would love to see new options from this brand.

  • I feel like Salt and Stone deodorant is both beautiful and a market differentiator for their scents. The neroli and basil is my favorite. Like all natural deodorants though, I don't feel like it does a good enough job of preventing stank for ALL day coverage, but it's good enough especially if you use it for touch ups.

  • I've been looking for a clean, luxury deodorant to replace my drugstore classics. Salt and Stone was highly recommended and I picked it up at Sephora. The bergamot and hinoki deodorant smells great - complex and herbal and not too sweet. Unfortunately, it fell short for me in terms of the primary use of deodorant which was remaining smelling fresh and dry after a few hours. I'd still use it on days where I know I won't be as active, but I'll look for something else to get me through the hottest days of summer.

  • This is a pretty good clean deodorant. I am not really sweaty and stinky and have heard that it does not provide enough for some people but for me it’s been a good product. I really enjoy the mellow scents.

  • We gonna talk right now about THE product of last year! I am so happy I found this deodorant, it is smell is unbelievably great. I got bergamot and eucalyptus’s in original size and next day I went to a store to by traveling size

  • Salt & Stone deodorants smell incredible. Black Rose & Oud is my favorite — it genuinely smells like an expensive perfume. The packaging is minimalist and looks good out on a tray. I don’t have much BO or perspire a lot, so I can’t fully speak to long-term efficacy, but I like using a deodorant with clean ingredients to minimize chemical exposure. For scent alone, these are a win.

  • Purchased the santal and vetiver set as a gift. Everything came quickly and received very positive reviews from the receiver. Packaging is a nice balance between luxury and minimal, and feels like something you might want to show off on a shelf.

  • I’m obsessed with Salt & Stone’s bergamot scent. I have both the hand cream and the shower gel, and they’re amazing. The hand cream keeps my hands super soft without feeling greasy, and the shower gel smells so good in the shower. I can’t get enough of it. I find myself buying both products over and over again. Recently tried their candles as well and love it.

  • Love this product! Aluminum free and deodorant that isn’t bad for your body. Smells amazing. I don’t wear it for working out because it doesn’t work well for high intensity activities, but for daily use is great. I wish they had more eco friendly products though.

  • Salt and Stone products smell great. The only product I have actually purchased and used was the deodorant, which again had a great smell, but was not very effective at blocking odor. I would not buy it again for the price.

  • I love Salt and Stone - it is one of the only natural deodorants that has worked for me! The Neroli and Basil and Bergamot are my two favorite scents. I purchased a full size, as well as the mini set for traveling and my purse! They do have a full body line to match the deodorant scents. I wish I liked the scent of the neroli and basil body mist and wash (but the deodorant smells so good?!) otherwise I’d use the whole line! I would probably go for Bergamot or Santal for the rest of the line.

  • SALT & STONE has become a staple in my daily routine, and not just because their packaging looks amazing on my bathroom shelf. I’ve used the Sandalwood deodorant, body lotion, perfume, hand cream, and candle, and I genuinely love them all. Each product has a clean, elevated scent (I’m partial to the Sandalwood; warm, grounding, and subtly luxurious) that lingers just enough without overwhelming. What sets them apart is how intentional everything feels. The deodorant actually works (even on long city walks), the lotion absorbs beautifully without any greasy residue, and the perfume layers well with everything else. I also appreciate that their formulas are botanical-based and clean without sacrificing performance. Everything feels high quality and considered, it’s like self care for people who move through the world with purpose. Bonus: lighting the candle feels like a tiny ritual: spa-level vibes, minus the spa.

  • My favorite deodorant!! I have very sensitive blind and most deodorants give me a rash, this one doesn’t and is very effective at preventing body odor. Plus, the scents are divine, my favorite is the Neroli and Basil, makes you smell like an italian garden

  • I really like the fragrance it is very delicate while also woodsy and classy. It lasts for most of the day and has a smooth application without leaving residue. Sometimes by the end of the day maybe after 12 hours or so it wears off and requires reapplication. Felts very moisturizing

  • Once I tried this deodorant I never went back to traditional deodorants. Not only do these have amazingly natural, clean, ingredients, but the fragrances are PERFECTION. I have put everyone I love on these. Hot tip: They make excellent stocking stuffers bc everyone uses deodorant (or at least they should!).

  • I have been a massive fan of salt & stone since the days they made skin care and sunscreen. Bergamot and Hinoki is my all time favorite scent. I started with just the body wash and my collection has grown to include the lotion, sensitive skin deodorant and body spray. The original deodorant does not work for me so I was very excited to discover the sensitive skin version. My boyfriend also uses all the products in the santal scent. We can't get enough of it.

  • For the longest time I couldn’t find a lotion or deodorant that was long lasting and didn’t aggravate my skin and I finally caved and decided to try Salt & Stone. While the prices are a bit high, truly this brand has some awesome products. The scents are very luxurious without being over the top and they are extremely long lasting while not leaving any strange residue. Would highly recommend.
