Reviews mention

  • Luxurious signature fragrances
  • Effective clarifying shampoo
  • Lightweight, shine-boosting hair oil
  • Versatile, high-performing stylers
  • Overpowering fragrance intensity
  • Inconsistent shampoo performance
  • Occasional drying, buildup issues
  • Fussy, inconvenient packaging

Ouai earns largely positive reviews for effective staples like Detox Shampoo, Leave-In Conditioner, hair oil, Air Dry Foam, and Wave Spray that leave hair clean, lightweight, shiny, and well‑scented. Reviews also flag notable drawbacks: overly strong, lingering fragrance that irritates sensitive scalps, hit‑or‑miss performance on shampoos/conditioners and masks (drying, buildup, or just “meh”), and occasional packaging frustrations (stiff conditioner bottles, finicky sprayers).

  • Nothing smells better than ouai. The only complaint I have is that they don't have a co-wash so PLEASE come out with one! Their shampoo for fine hair is my absolute favorite, I also love their body scrub, and leave in hair oil. It all smells incredible and I literally can't wait to shower every morning.

  • Seriously my favorite haircare brand ever. I use their Detox Shampoo on my thick curly hair and my hair is always super clean, smooth, and frizz-free. It's a realllllly steep price point, but it's worth the investment for me. I also love their leave-in conditioner for hair health and the smell of the St. Barths line is divine. Highly rec.

  • I've really enjoyed my Detangling and Frizz Fighting Leave In Conditioner. It definitely helps when brushing out my fine, wet hair. I've noticed that my hair feels shinier and softer on the days I use it. The only downside is that the fragrance is STRONG.

  • Wow, the scent is just so strong! I actually had to return it. I loved the branding and wanted something that looked and felt luxe. As someone semi- sensitive to fragrance this was overpowering. I thought I’d get used to it, but my hair smelled so strongly I began to get headaches after showering. It was a clean scent— sort of a mix between a vintage soap and laundry detergent/ fresh linens fragrance.

  • So, I hopped on the Ouai haircare train after reading the reviews. It was ok for my hair, but it was nothing amazing and my sensitive scalp was not feeling the fragrance party. Sadly, had to part ways and return the goods. Heads up for anyone with scent sensitivity or delicate skin – might want to think twice. 🌿✌️

  • I have had great experiences with their leave in conditioner. Left my hair feeling soft and manageable.

  • Ouai has a huge assortment of high-quality hair products that I saw popping up around stores and online. At first I was skeptical because of the cost, but when I finally pulled the trigger and made a purchase, I was very glad that I did. They have anti-dandruff shampoo that works great in addition to their sugar-scalp scrub which removes scalp build-up and stops flaking and it itchiness. After trying these two out, I was convinced, and started checking out more of their haircare. They have a hair mask for thick hair, which I definitely have. It smooths and tames my hair without weighing it down or compromising volume. There is also a leave-in conditioner to protect your hair from heat damage and lock in moisture. I also love that a lot of products are made with sustainable packaging and some are available in travel-sizes, so you can try them out before splurging on the full size bottles, or simply have your favorite products to travel with. I do wish that these products were a tad cheaper, but hey, quality costs money, and in this case, it's worth it.

  • Obsessed with the thick hair shampoo and conditioners. I have very thick and struggle with products being drying. Ouai has been a game changer

  • I use the clarifying shampoo, leave in conditioner and conditioning mask and LOVE all of them. Have repurchased all three multiple times. Only reason I gave four stars was the pricing.

  • I finally emptied the detox shampoo. A little goes a long way and really gets all the oils out. I did find it a bit too stripping for my hair, but it’s practically a clarifying shampoo so I guess it works? Wouldn’t buy again because my scalp was kind of itchy after every use.

  • I used the wave spray it made my hair stiff and dry I won’t be repurchasing although the product does small amazing . I have fine thin hair.

  • My favorite hair care brand right now. I've loved the air dry foam and the leave in conditioner. I was able to pick up the shampoo and conditioner set and the curl spray during the prime day sale. I'm looking forward to trying it all out! Overall, I've had great results so far and the products smell amazing

  • I've been using the Ouai detox shampoo for about 6 months and the Ouai leave in conditioner for over 3 years. Both never leave my hair with a residue but also don't leave my hair feeling dry and brittle. The smell is good, but not overpowering. After trying many different products these are ones that I return to again and again.

  • I love their shampoos and conditioner. It nourishes my hair without drying it out, and helps boost my natural curls without causing frizz. A high quality product at a very reasonable price.

  • Ouai has so many great products. I use the cleanser and hair detox. They work so well and smell really nice.

  • Received this exact product through a monthly subscription box, which is sometimes finicky because my hair-type is super fine, very straight highlighted blonde/naturally dirty blonde. Typically, hair products leave my hair too oily and these weighted down hairs are so fine. This product was fantastic with my hair-type because my hair felt malnourished before this product. Conditioned strands, that protects from heat damage and keeps my hair shiny and not too oily? Amazing!!

  • Smells amazing & works well! What more could you ask for? I’ve used the shampoo & conditioner, hair oil, and hair mask. I’ve enjoyed the smell of it all so much I’ve even bought the perfume.
