Reviews mention

  • Potent bond-repair technology
  • Luxurious clean fragrance
  • Highly concentrated formulas
  • Effective brass-neutralizing pigment
  • Inconsistent results across hair
  • Potentially drying formulas
  • Heavy feel on fine hair
  • Staining purple pigment

OLAPLEX earns polarized reviews: it visibly strengthens and revives bleached or damaged hair—No. 3 Hair Perfector, No. 6 Bond Smoother, No. 7 Bonding Oil, and the 4P Purple Shampoo are frequent standouts—yet many users report dryness, heaviness, or even increased shedding and brittleness if overused. The brand is praised for salon-clean scent, rich lather, and fast toning, but criticized for inconsistent results across hair types and small, hard-to-dispense bottles.

  • Olaplex makes good hair products. I think you need to be matches with the one that is right for your hair. It left my hair heavy and I tried it several times. It’s easy to access, but the price could be a little lower.

  • I’m still undecided about this product. It’s not bad, but for the price I expected better. Probably it’s my hair, but the price to size of product comparison on this product does mot impress when compared to other products.

    Saw it in store
  • I absolutely love this brand, it has helped my hair soo much! I use their hair oil and conditioner on a weekly basis and could not recommend it more!

    No relationship
  • I’m a fan of the No7 Bonding Oil, it’s a small bottle but lasts a long time since you need very little each time.

  • The shampoo (no4) and conditioner (no5) has been really good for my dry curly hair. Feels a lot more moisturized and brings out the curls

  • I have been using Olaplex for years. I do genuinely love the product line but find I need to take breaks every few months from the shampoo and conditioner because I notice my hair begins to feel oily. After a break I start up again and it works great until the cycle continues. Would still recommend the line though.

  • I like my olaplex products but i don't feel like they make my hair any better. It works but i don't think i would necessarily buy it again.

  • I love love this product ! I have thinning hair due to menopause aging and this gives me fuller and appears to make it grow !

  • I have tried almost every olaplex product sold, but I truly didn’t like any of them. I have very fine hair and it felt weighed down when I used the shampoo and conditioner as well as the hair oil. I want to love it but I would not buy again. I did like the smell! I wish it would’ve held up to the hype. I know many of my friends do love using Olaplex. Maybe better for thicker haired girlies?

  • Expensive but mostly worth it. I think that some products are better than others (love the conditioner but could skip on the shampoo for example).

  • I've used Olaplex No 3, No.6, No. 5, and the bonding oil and I've loved all of them! I have wavy hair that is completely different textures from the top of my head to the bottom. I've found that Olaplex (especially the oil) has been one of the only products to tame frizzy curls and revive dry ends. It also smells amazing!

  • Works well on damaged hair, but using too often dries your hair out. The oil is great for dry ends.

  • I am a big fan of the Olaplex number 6 leave-in for my thick, coarse, unruly, frizzy, curly hair. I use it both on wet and dry hair but really love it in dry hair that has gotten frizzed and out of control. It smooths out the frizz and brings the style and definition back in a way nothing else has. It is definitely a go to product for me. I have tried all the Olaplex products and they are all nice but I didn’t notice a positive difference in my hair until I tried number 6. This one product was definitely worth the money.

  • What can I say about olaplex besides I love number 3? I use it about once a week at max and it leaves my hair silky smooth and soft. Before using, it was difficult to run my hands through my hair because I have such hard water in my pipes. This made a world of difference, with just an hour a week!

  • Works well for damaged and/or color-treated hair and has a bonus of making your hair super soft. Definitely not for use every day, but maybe once a week.

  • I have only ever used the leave in bond repair and dont notice much difference. I figure maybe if I used the full line I would notice less dryness and breakage.

  • Pros: objectively makes my hair silky smooth! Cons: It’s really expensive for the amount of product you get, and I can’t help but think the chemicals in the product (mostly because of the smell?) are slowly killing me.
