OLAPLEX earns polarized reviews: it visibly strengthens and revives bleached or damaged hair—No. 3 Hair Perfector, No. 6 Bond Smoother, No. 7 Bonding Oil, and the 4P Purple Shampoo are frequent standouts—yet many users report dryness, heaviness, or even increased shedding and brittleness if overused. The brand is praised for salon-clean scent, rich lather, and fast toning, but criticized for inconsistent results across hair types and small, hard-to-dispense bottles.

I used No.7 and I experience breakage. It also completely changed the texture of my hair. Unfortunately, this product isn't for me.

Overhyed! And made me breakout!
The olaplex hair mask didn’t work well for me. I didn’t see a difference in my hair and was not worth it to me.. especially for the price

Didn’t do much for my hair! I don’t have very damaged hair, so maybe I wasn’t the target user. I have thinner hair so it left me a bit greasy.
Olaplex's entire line is a hair transformation in a bottle! From No. 1 to No. 8, it's a journey to stronger, healthier hair. It's like a salon experience at home, leaving your locks looking and feeling fabulous.
Can never go wrong with Olaplex. My hair is bleached blonde so it’s pretty much my go to for shampoo/conditioner. A bit pricey but at least your hair will look and smell good. Most especially you won’t go bald so I’d say it’s worth it in the end.
love the shampoo and conditioner and the number 7 oil !
Tried the hair oil and while it was great the cost was not worth it. Ran out within a month on a $30 bottle, competitors have same quality and cheaper.
Olaplex is very hit or miss, I feel that your hair either gets along with the products or it does not. I personally had some hair loss and hair thinning issues with some products.

I'm crazy about haircare, and have tried a lot of salon-quality brands over the years. I have tried Olaplex's shampoos & conditioners, styling products, and bond protectors, and Olaplex consistently leaves my hair feeling healthier and more moisturized than other brands. Even during my bleach blonde phase when I used their purples, the shampoo and conditioner make my hair feel less like straw than other heavy hitters like Kevin Murphy and Kerastase. My 2 go-to products that I'll recommend are the No. 3 Hair Perfector (for when I air dry), and the No. 9 Bond Protector (for when I use heat-styling tools). I comb through my hair after towel drying. Both help my hair dry faster and prevents frizz and frying. For hair oils, I prefer Fable & Mane's for the scent, but Olaplex's is still a great option. A small amount of Olaplex also goes a long way, so no need to overload your hair with product. Downside of that is that you pay a lot for a little, which is the primary the reason why I stopped using their shampoo & conditioner. My only other complaint is that the product is a pain to get out of those tiny bottles! You have to keep the bottle upside down or you'll spend forever waiting for the product to come out. Not sure what Olaplex can do here, but better squeeze options for sure!
I have a love hate relationship with these products. At first they seemed to help and my hair was easy to style, but then I started using the purple shampoo after going gray and it just dries my hair out so bad. I only shampoo once every three days. The product lasts because you only need a little bit I can’t take the dryness anymore
I like the brand and their products but I don’t feel like they made a huge improvement to the condition of my hair. I swim in the ocean every day, so my hair can get pretty dry and tangled. The No 3 hair perfector is probably my favourite product. It does make your hair soft and smooth for a day or so. The shampoo and conditioner was nice to use, but makes my thin hair a bit flat. Same with the No 6 bond smoother. I think it would be great for thick hair though. I do like to smooth a tiny amount of the No 7 bonding oil through my hair to make it shiny. The packing is nice and I enjoy using the products, I’m just not sure they’re the best products for my particular hair.
Beware, folks! I recently dabbled in the world of Olaplex hair care, and let me tell you, it was quite the hair-raising experience. Pun intended. First things first, Olaplex products come with a hefty price tag that will make your wallet cry. They should come with a warning label: "Not responsible for financial heartache caused by shampoo-induced bankruptcy." Seriously, I had to take out a second mortgage just to afford a bottle. But the fun didn't stop there. Oh no! After a few uses, I noticed my strands deciding to embark on a mass exodus. Yep, my hair deserted me faster than a contestant on a failed reality TV show. Apparently, Olaplex had a different definition of "hair care," something along the lines of "hair scare." Perhaps their secret ingredient is a potion that makes your hair disappear into thin air. Presto! No more bad hair days when you have no hair left! Genius, right? So, unless you're aiming for the bald eagle look, I'd think twice before splurging on this hair horror show. Save your pennies and invest in a stylish wig instead.

Products really work! I had trouble with color damage and breakage, but after a couple of weeks using No. 5 and No.7, my hair is super strong again. These products are on the pricier side, but if you stock up during sales, they will pay off!

As a girl with 4A hair, Olaplex does work surprisingly well.

I've been using Olaplex as a bond builder on my hair ever since I started bleaching it about 3 years ago. It's stayed in great shape (according to my hair stylist who had recommended it), and I use it as directed! I know there has been some recent controversy with the side effects of the product, but I personally have not faced any of those, and I've been using a variety of the products too (I think I have 0, 3, 4, 5, 6, 8, and 9 all in my closet right now). My favorite is number 8 - that moisture mask is amazing! I do not see a noticeable difference after using most of the other products, however. Especially the toning shampoo - it does not tone as well as other purple shampoos I have tried. But I'm sure it works differently on everyone - my hair is naturally a mid-brown. There are of course so many products in the system and different directions for each, which can be complicated and time consuming. Sometimes I wonder if it would be cheaper to me to just go to the salon every once in a while and get a treatment for hair damage, because Olaplex products certainly are not cheap, rather than do these time consuming hair masks once a week.

I know that a small part of the population have had an allergic reaction to Olaplex. What product doesn't have people who are allergic? You may not know until you use it if it works for you, but hopefully you get the benefits I have gotten. I use #3, #4, #5, #6, #7, and #8. Maybe even #9. I use the purple version of #4 to help tone the brassiness in my money piece. My bff is a cosmetologist and she started raving about Olaplex as soon as it came out. I had no idea what she was talking about because Olaplex wasn't available for regular people to buy. I had to visit her in Colorado to find out the magic that is Olaplex. You definitely need to use it regularly to reap the full benefits. I am brutal to my hair. I bleach it, dye it, use heat at times, etc. This is what I can tell you... If I didn't use Olaplex, my hair would be straw. It's a good thing I live in a desert climate. Olaplex helps a ton. I'm so glad I have access to it now just like the professionals. If I didn't like Olaplex, I would not be writing a review like this. You can see my honesty in other reviews. If I don't like something, I'll tell you. I do think it's worth the money. Do I think you need all of the products? No. I don't need my phone anymore when looking at the numbers to figure out what's best for me, as I used to stand in the aisles trying to figure out which products would be necessary for me. I got the bonding oil as a gift. I have never used an oil before on my hair and had I not gotten it, I wouldn't have bought it. It's nice though. It didn't weigh my hair down. If your hair is dry, I think you could use #3, #6, or #8. It definitely depends on what you like and what you need. If you're blonde and trying to get the brassiness out of your hair, the purple shampoo definitely helps neutralize the yellow. It's worth the hype but give it time. Your hair may feel awesome initially but it does take some consistency for you to get the full effect.

My go-to for when I'm blonde! I used to bleach my whole head + straighten my hair every day in high school, so it was terrible — fried, short, breaking off, etc. I switched to Olaplex and overtime, saw a huge change in my hair! Still used tons of heat and saw a difference, but once I cut down on that my hair was the longest and healthiest its ever been. If you aren't blonde, it might not work as well, as I'm now 50% brown and growing out my natural hair, and I don't find I need this/it doesn't work as well on me. I still LOVE the leave-in + oil for blow outs, and the mask is my go-to after lightening or color services!
Lo mejor para reparar tu cabello dañado, yo tenía las puntas un poco feas por una mala pintura pero me reparo totalmente el cabello y no tuve que cortarlo, fue lo mejor!
I think Olaplex is over-hyped. I know a lot of people get great results from their products, but they were only ever okay for me. I don’t love some of the chemicals they use, either.
