Milk Bar polarizes: reviews praise the in-store classics like Cereal Milk soft serve, Milk Bar Pie, Birthday Cake, and cake truffles as nostalgic, inventive, and delicious, yet many find products overwhelmingly sweet and note uneven quality in packaged grocery items. Reviews also flag inconsistent freshness and multiple failed or late deliveries, while applauding playful branding and gift appeal, plus solid gluten-free options.

I find Milkbar to be very very expensive for what it is - that being said it is decent if you have a serious sweet tooth. I just find it overly sweet and the portions very small for the cost. They have cute branding, but I wouldn't go out of my way for the actual product. If you see the actual store, try it but be forewarned that it is just so sugary without many other complex flavors.
Love the cookies! It's tough to keep a packaged cookie soft and fresh and Milkbar does this well. Lots of great flavors (the blueberry and cream is unexpectedly delicious). The ice cream on the other hand isn't my favorite. I find it really salty.

Iconic, delicious brand, and being able to ship it makes an awesome gift.

My favorite product to date is the Milk Bar Pie (previously Crack Pie). It was the special kind of sugar-butter-flour combo that made a bad day just a little bit less awful. But the hypersweetness made it a rare treat. I continue to believe that if they reduced the sugar in this recipe, I would be purchasing this pie on the regular, by myself, for myself. In terms of the other goods on offer, I have been unimpressed at many a party by the overrated sight of the Birthday Cake. I am admittedly not a fan of the exposed cake layers trend; their cakes seem startlingly unfinished to me, but obviously looks are not everything. Unfortunately the taste is not everything either. These cakes, like the Pie, are overwhelmingly sweet (Consider, I have a decent sweet tooth and can rarely get through more than three bites).

Iconic NYC treat
I've been visiting the Milk Bar for their birthday cake truffles and milk bar pie for years and years. The desserts can definitely be on the sweeter side, but such a treat every once in a while. Would love to see new product launches from the brand.
Great taste but cost is a little much
I was excited to try this place when I went to nyc and it’s the only ice cream I’ve had to throw away :(
I generally like Milk Bar products, but I will say they are a bit overrated. I don't know why their products often taste a bit stale? I've even had it at in person locations and I feel the same. I do think the cake is really fun and delicious though!
Unpopular opinion heading your way...... Milk Bar has its marketing and packaging down packed. It sold me at first glance AND I may or may not be hoarding the initial container the cookies came with in the closet. In theory, this is a wonderful concept and somehow feels glamorized. In reality, I personally found these cookies to be underwhelming at best with a lingering taste of mass production. When purchasing for someone else, it's the thought (and maybe the price tag) that counts. When purchasing for myself, I just wouldn't.

Got to have truffles today and now!
Love the original cookies (the ones individually packaged in clear wrapping.. not the ones sold at places like Whole Foods). Even as someone who loves sweets, the truffle cake bites are almost too sweet.
Tried the short bread cookie and they were SO good paired with tea

I am obsessed with Milk Bar birthday cakes. They're absolutely delicious, and they're my favorite way to treat friends (or myself) for special occasions.
Best gluten free cake balls. I used to be obsessed
My go-to for last-minute birthday gifts, and they’re always a HIT! The desserts are soooo good; you really can’t go wrong here. I’m obsessed with Milk Bar and love everything they do (or I should say make!)
The cinnamon toast and pb chocolate mini crispy cookies are to die for! Grab a bag at wholefoods, you won’t regret it! I almost want to eat as a cereal!
Overhyped but still a fun experience and product! I’ve been to the Milk Bar store in LA, have ordered Milk Bar cakes for birthdays, and have received orders for my own birthday so I’ve had lots of changes to try Milk Bar. I think their hype has long caught up with them but still see their products as high-end and pretty fun. Their products lean heavyyy on the sweet side and I feel like as I get older (late 20’s) my palate doesn’t *love* how they taste after a single cookie or a few bites. My favorite is their corn cookie which is unique and really darn good. Their OG birthday cake and soft serves are good as well. I dislike their truffles because they’re dry and give a sort of stale vibe? Not a fan. Because of their aesthetic/brand, I would still gift their products for people or enjoy receiving them myself once in a while!
