KOBA skincare earns mixed reviews: products feel hydrating and absorb cleanly, but scent polarizes and performance varies by dryness level. Reviews praise the body/hair oil’s light scent, dry finish, and post-shower softness, while the body lotion can be thick and gentle for sensitive skin yet not hydrating enough for very dry hands, with some describing a powdery or earthy shea-forward smell and awkward oil bottle spout.

Koba is interesting as I feel like their oil is more pleasant than the lotion. The body lotion is a nice lotion, but the smell is funny...kinda earthy. Not the most pleasant, but it goes away. For some reason, their oil smells different than the lotion and is a very light but pleasant scent. Very odd. I've used both for awhile and can't say it's hugely different than others Ive used. The bottle of the oil is really nicely shaped/nice to look at, but once you use it, you realize why most companies don't use this shape spout -- it is a very odd angle for the oil to squirt out and it becomes messy.

I was so excited to receive the body/hair oil and body lotion, but it was, unfortunately, underwhelming from the start when the packaging arrived a bit battered and stained. I loved the information card detailing the vegetable oil derivative, however, the oil was way too heavy for my hair and both products had a slight smell that I found unpleasant. It was generous for the brand to also send two samples, but they weren't sealed. Overall, I felt like the price point was too high and likely wouldn't purchase again.

The first day before trying out Koba bottom-up foot cream, my skin was dry and flaked, if I rubbed them together. The first thing I do before trying on any skincare product is a scent test. When smelling the foot cream, to me it kinda had the same scent as the natural soap I have, and the scent is almond, and one of Koba's ingredients is sweet almond oil. The other scents, in the product are wood and citrus, for me, I don't smell the citrus but do smell the wood but it” is faint. I usually stay away from wood scents/fragrances because they usually tend on the strong/overbearing side, but this is a light/pleasant scent. When using the foot cream, on day two my feet were soft, I will say the softest my skin ever has been on my feet. Allantoin, used in the foot cream helps to gently exfoliate the skin. When I applied the foot cream, on the first day I thought I put too much on but it hydrated my skin, leaving it feeling moisturizing, not slimy, sticky, or greasy afterward. I also put the cream on my scar, since it is close to my foot on my ankle because the skin there gets itchy more than my feet. I have a thick callus bump on the left side of my foot and the foot cream softens the skin around it to make it easier to take out. The callus is still a little there but the bump is now flat. My left foot had a little white circle dry patch on it, and now after using the cream, it is not there. I have sweaty feet, and it can lead to bacteria on the feet and fungal infection, the cream has antibacterial properties in it. When smelling the foot cream, to me it kinda had the same scent as the natural soap I have, and the scent is almond, and one of Koba's ingredients is sweet almond oil. It says it is for Normal, dry, or very dry skin.

I was really looking forward to trying the products! I ordered the products to Canada with the Thingdrop discount, had a pay a duty on it. The packaging looked great, loved it! The lotion and the body oil both have a clear distinct smell of Shea butter I believe which takes a while getting used to if you're not familiar with the scent. I didn't quite like it at first, but now don't mind it. Both the lotion and the oil works like magic though on my really dry skin in this cold weather. I've been using the oil after a warm bath at night and my skin has been super soft! I'll probably invest in the body oil again in the future.

The packaging is fantastic, I love the smell, and it feels nice going on. However, I’m a nurse and a ceramicist and I am constantly struggling with dry skin, especially on my hands. It feels like a luxury product but my hands are still chapped, so for me, it’s not worth the high price tag. I’ll be using it in conjuncture with my tried and true grocery store intense healing lotion.

Enjoyed this lotion a lot! A really light body lotion - didn't feel greasy at all.

Great smell and texture, applies nicely. I particularly like the oil, great feeling with a dry finish. The body lotion is nice although it doesn’t feel as hydrating.

The body lotion is super nice, very thick and great for my dry skin in winter. I have pretty sensitive skin with bad allergies and found this to be super gentle and hydrating, and didn't cause a reaction at all. I actually really like the scent - it's very gentle, smells like there isn't any added fragrance, so it's pretty much just the smell of the shea butter and oils. If you're looking for a scented lotion, you might want one with added perfume, but personally I really liked it. Haven't yet tried the body oil, but looking forward to trying it out.

I really enjoyed the body oil! It smells great and is super moisturizing. My skin soaks it up well and it’s perfect for after the shower. The moisturizer is okay, I didn’t find much of a difference from a less expense I’ve lotion. The smell is quite powdery, which is not something I’d regularly reach for. The price point it a major deterrent in repurchasing either product.

Was really stoked on receiving this product - the packaging is minimal and attractive - something i would definitely gravitate towards in any retail store. I wanted to wait to write my review until I had the chance to use both the oil and the lotion. I have to be honest - I really enjoy both products. Its winter time which means our skin needs more hydration that ever at this time. Most of the time Ill put lotion on after a shower, and the next day my skin is dry as bonesssss. I've now tested the lotion, and the oil, and can successfully say - my skin is LOVING this! No dry skin in the mornings which is magical to be honest. I've used the oil in my hair as well which leaves it with shine instead of a big ball of grease which honestly is a miracle. My biggest con with this product is the smell, I would have preferred if it were unscented as it kind of smells like baby powder which im not a fan of at all. Other than that - super here for this product! Would recommend this to a friend with a high warning of the scent!

I am 50/50 on this product because I am HUGE on smell and this smells so much like baby powder. I am bummed because the packaging is great, so cute. It is so hydrating feeling which is crucial in these cold months. I do really like the oil, it doesn't smell as strong of baby powder so that is a better for me. I will continue to use but just wish it was non-scented!

I really liked these products. I received the body/hair oil and the body lotion (along with some samples!) and really enjoyed everything. The scent isn't overpowering and the products work as intended. I don't think this is the perfect winter lotion for someone with super dry skin, but it's great and lightweight so if you have more normal skin or "summer dry" it'll work well. To pump up the moisturizing factor of the lotion I've been mixing it with the body/hair oil and it's been awesome. I haven't had a chance to try the samples yet, but am excited that they were even included!

I really enjoy the lotion, which is unscented but nice and thick for dry skin. I travel a lot so a very hydrating lotion is a must for me. I also like that despite the hydration, it wasn’t very sticky or goopy. I also have the body and hair oil, which didn’t really do too much for either my hair or my skin. I’d have to use both the oil and the lotion for the hydrating experience I’m looking for, which is hard when I’m traveling and don’t have the most space. The oil also seems to be unscented or if it’s scented, it’s very light. I like that since I don’t like when body products mix with the perfume I use. Either way, I liked the products but didn’t necessarily looooove.

The Light It Up Hydrating Face Cream has been a nice addition to my routine. It feels lightweight but still provides plenty of hydration, which I really appreciate for my combination skin. It absorbs quickly and doesn’t leave that heavy or sticky feeling some creams do. The scent is subtle, which I prefer. My only small complaint is that it’s not quite as long-lasting as I expected, so I sometimes need to reapply on drier days. Overall, it’s a solid moisturizer, especially for daily use.
