Reviews mention

  • Velvety, ultra-creamy texture
  • Inventive, distinctive flavors
  • Plentiful, well-distributed mix-ins
  • Impressive dairy-free options
  • Inconsistent flavor execution
  • Occasionally icy, grainy texture
  • Some flavors overly sweet
  • Variable creaminess across pints

Jeni's Ice Creams earns rapturous reviews for rich, ultra‑creamy texture and inventive, true‑to‑label flavors like Brambleberry Crisp, Gooey Butter Cake, and Brown Butter Almond Brittle, confirming the brand is excellent. Reviews also flag downsides: pints are expensive, quality varies by flavor, and some report iciness or overly sweet/salty notes and occasional freezer burn from stores.

  • Good for a treat once in a while but not necessarily for everyday snacking. At least for me. Overall would recommend. Can’t really go wrong with ice cream even though peanut butter is pushing it in my opinion :)

  • There are so many ice creams out there and Jeni's is one of the best. The most frustrating part is the price. When I go to Whole Foods, I'll see that a pint of Jeni's is the same price as a quart for another brand. However, you're not getting the same flavors. That's where Jeni's shines. The flavors are so delightful and unique, but I can only really justify buying a pint when they're on sale. I love Jeni's but there are other brands with good options that I'll gravitate towards instead. Blackout Chocolate Cake and Darkest Chocolate are the best flavors. They answered every chocolate lover's prayers with those.

  • Phenomenal ice cream!! It is not cheap - but the ingredients make it so worth it. I am lucky to have a local Jeni's Ice Cream, but I also love the pints at the store. I especially love that they have dairy free - as I am lactose intolerant. The flavors are also amazing - big chocolate lover, so I especially love all their chocolate variations.

  • I am gluten-free and dairy-free, so finding great-tasting ice cream can be difficult. And when you find one that tastes edible, the ingredients are usually trash....until I stumbled upon Jeni's. I love all the dairy-free flavors (except Frose, sorry Rose lovers), but the Cold Brew with Coconut Cream is probably my favorite. It's not too sweet and it really tastes like coffee. The consistency is creamy and I enjoy it when it's been thawed a little bit.I just wish they had a few more dairy-free flavors, but hopefully they will someday.

  • The ice cream is so luscious and tasty. I’m in Cincinnati and always on the hunt for those on sales. The ice cream is from Columbus Ohio fyi, not sure where they get their milk but it’s good haha.

The price… $9 a pint is quite steep

  • Delish! I have only had the vegan chocolate truffle and it was incredible. So chocolate-y and with little fudge pieces. High quality and clean.

    More vegan options!

  • I absolutely LOVE Jenn’s ice cream. I always have multiple flavors in my freezer. They also make the best dairy-free flavors (try the Texas Sheet Cake… you can’t even tell it is dairy free!) all of their flavors are rich and decadent. I honestly have not had one flavor that I didn’t like. Some are very sweet, but that’s why I keep options on hand to suit my every mood. The price is high and goes up and down a few dollars depending on where you buy it. Oddly, buying direct from Jeni’s is by far the highest price I have seen at $12 each, so I prefer grocery store prices at $7-10 each.

  • I don't think there's any going wrong with Jeni's. My fav flavor is the Lavender Wildberry, and I love seeing the flights in the shops. It's lovely for house warmings or just visiting a friend :)

  • I love love love Jeni's ice cream. The flavors are both innovative and classic, and I appreciate that they are always coming out with something fresh. I do wish they brought back flavors a bit more...I've only seen my favorite (Sweet Corn with Blackberries) twice in 7 years. I'm also bummed to see how expensive it's gotten, but I'll keep buying it.

  • I am so happy that Jen's is now available at my local stores. The Birthday Cake is delicioussss :) I've been having Jeni's since it was only available at shops, my joy started with the Lavender ice cream at the Santa Monica shop <3

  • This is also one of those more pricey items that i will treat myself too. Every year for my birthday I'll purchase about 6 of Jeni's ice creams and fill my fridge full of a variety of their unique flavors. So far some of my favorites are Salty Caramel, Salted Peanut Butter and Chocolate Flakes, Brambleberry, and the limited edition Dolly Parton Strawberry Pretzel Pie. You honestly can't go wrong with any of their flavors though!

  • I first tried Jeni’s in Birmingham while on a road trip. My kids and I loved the unique flavors and couldn’t make a decision. Luckily you can sample them and the staff were super friendly and helpful. They didn’t make us feel like free-loading gluttons for testing multiple flavors. The ice cream was so creamy with just the right amount of add ins. I loved the salted pb with chocolate flecks paired with the darkest chocolate. Normally super rich ice cream makes my tummy hurt but Jeni’s didnt. We loved it so much we went out of our way to stop by Jeni’s when we were in DC. Super bummed they don’t have a location in the PNW 😢

  • I tried their brambleberry crisp and wildberry lavender flavors at the store in Chicago (not the pint) but OMG it’s so good, so flavorful and creamy, not really too sweet or heavy, such interesting flavors - will be having it A LOT this summer! The only drawback is that it’s kinda expensive for ice cream.

  • Jeni's is my absolute FAVORITE ice cream shop! It's the most creamy, well balanced and best tasting ice cream I've ever had. Salty caramel is my go to. I don't enjoy sweets when it's a sugar bomb but Jeni's is so well balanced that the sweetness does not bug me at all! Hands down the best ice cream out there!

  • Omg. Favorite ice cream of all time. The pints you can buy at the store are obviously a treat, have never had a bad flavor yet, but if you have the opportunity to go to one of their ice cream shops in person absolutely do it. They smell amazing and give you little waffle cone pieces, it’s just so tasty and cute. The interesting flavors are delish but the all time staple is the dark chocolate, it’s insane.

I wish stores would stock more of the flavors! Hard to find some of the best ones if you don’t live where the Jeni’s scoop shops are.

  • LOVE Jeni's! I often go to their ice cream shop and the pint-sized ice creams they sell at the grocery stores don't disappoint. I've tried a few flavors now (Brambleberry Crisp is my favorite) and what you buy from the store tastes just as good as the ice cream you get in their ice cream shop. Always creamy and flavorful. Unique flavors are a plus.

  • Jeni's Boston Cream Pie is my go-to ice cream at the grocery store when I'm too lazy to go to/ don't want to pay $10 for artisanal ice cream scoops! It's the perfect balance of chocolate, vanilla, and cake in my opinion.

  • Holy moly this ice cream is delicious. My husband and I had it in Columbus,OH. I had salted licorice and blueberry lavender and they were so creamy and delicious. I would buy this ice cream all of the time if they sold it in Massachusetts - I love it.

  • Crazy flavors, but always a good surprise! I can never guess what they will come out with next, but whatever it is, it's aways creamy and a really good combination of flavors that I would've never thought of.

  • The best ice cream!! The gooey butter cake will change your life. The coffee with cream and sugar is also amazing. The unique flavors keep you coming back for more. You can tell Jeni’s is committed to qualify at every corner. The stores are beautiful, the staff is friendly and helpful, the waffle cone smell is warm and welcoming and the ice cream is delicious 😋
