Hay earns strong reviews for design-forward home goods that work well, with standout pieces like Colour Crates, Palissade outdoor furniture, Woody shelving, and lighting praised for durable build, clever functionality, and vibrant palettes. Reviews also flag inconsistencies—textiles and some finishes scuff or pull, occasional form-over-function missteps (e.g., watering can flow, limited neck support on Mags), and mixed perceptions of value—making Hay ideal for those prioritizing aesthetics and modular organization over uniform, across-category durability.

Big fan of Hay! I've only purchased their accessories, glasses and crates, but worth it. Great quality, beautiful colors, and simple but homey design. Two thumbs up :)

Hay makes such quality, beautifully designed, minimalist home goods. I love their crates for simple organizing around my home. I have a crate in my restroom holding makeup / self-care items, and another in my closet holding goodies I have on hand for gifts for friends. I really enjoyed exploring their showroom in Tokyo recently and wish they had more locations in the US!

I had the pleasure of visiting the HAY store in Denmark and fell in love with the Mags sofa. I was able to purchase one through DWR ... but, it took about 18 weeks and a lack of customer service. We stuck it out and waited, having it finally here feels so wonderful and worth the wait. I will note that the sofa is comfortable but lacking the neck support, and I still love it. After complaining about the lack of updates from customer service I did receive a discount for a future order. I also own the HAY recycled plastic crates, HAY pillows, duvet cover, and other homewares - they are high quality and I feel proud to support this brand. I am never let down with the high quality and good prices for these products.

LOVE Hay! With a simplistic, thoughtful eye towards design they produce high quality products that allow anyone bring in bright pops of color to their home. I own several of their items, including the viral colored crates that collapse. While I do think their price point has gotten higher over the years, it's still worth grabbing an item or two, knowing it will elevate your home and help you achieve that iconic Danish interior design style.

We have their kitchen stools and they are very quality- they look nice, feel nice, and are made with premium materials. Only criticisms is it seems very hard to get replacement parts, and the finish on the stool seemed a bit too easy to stain/scuff.

Their products are pricy but worth it. They make decorating my apartment so fun & colorful & unique. These products rarely go on sale, so if you see a deal, snag it!! They will elevate the look of your place & their products make for great gifts.

I genuinely love Hay. Hay's style is essentially my personal aesthetic. My apartment is full of Hay products from furniture, right down to their distinctive Spiral candles. I think my favourite product so far is the Butler Stool (in my photo). It's the perfect home for some of my plant babies, and useful as a perch, or to reach the back of our highest shelves. I live in Copenhagen, and Hay have a flagship store, AKA the "Hay House" here. It's set over 4 floors and laid out as a house, it's the perfect place to go when I have friends visit in Copenhagen. The only problem is I never leave empty handed.

Two things make my review 4/5 instead of 5/5. Firstly, sometimes Hay products could be slightly higher quality. For example I have two Revolver Bar Stools. They look beautiful, and are fun to sit on and swivel on. However they are prone to scratching, even from people simply sitting on them. Surely there is a tougher finish Hay could have used? The other typical drawback for Hay products is that they sometimes prioritise form over function. For example the Hay Watering Can is beautiful to look at, but water comes out incredibly slowly, and it often dribbles everywhere 😢 Oh, but it's so beautiful to look at.

Always adored HAY Design, and visited/bought their products since I discovered the brand (some odd 6 years ago). The colour scheme + performance of the products, particularly their lighting products is great + easy to use + setup. The USB charging is very easy for someone like me, who forgets to buy lightbulbs. That said, the product availability in the US in-store is not straightforward and shipping costs can add up quick. Recommend looking at the MoMA Design Store + signing up for the newsletter to get a discount/notified of sales since HAY seems to replenish their stock there at a decent rate.

They are a perfect blend of aesthetic appeal and functional excellence. Highly recommended for anyone looking to enhance their home with a touch of elegance and comfort.

I’ve collected a ton of HAY throws and pillows over the years, and they’re some of my favorite home items. The designs are modern but still feel warm and livable, and the quality holds up beautifully. Everything adds a thoughtful pop of color or texture without overwhelming a space. They’ve helped me create a home that feels both stylish and comfortable, which is exactly what I want. It’s the kind of brand that makes even the simple things, like a throw blanket, feel intentional and elevated.

I absolutely loooove the HAY Colour Crates! These multifunctional, stackable storage boxes have become a staple in every room of my home. Not only are they incredibly cute, but they also make a decor statement with their vibrant colors. Hot sauce station? Yes. Books and knick-knacks collector? Yes. I use them for everything. They keep my space organized without compromising style and they are made from 100% recycled post-consumer plastic waste. We love when style meets eco-friendliness.

I love the Hay crates. They’re so versatile in what they can hold and they also make the insides of closets more fun. You can find cheaper dupes elsewhere, and having bought those too I can say the quality of Hay far surpasses anything else you could buy.

HAY crates are all over my apartment! I love that they’re stackable and super easy to clean with soap when they get dusty or sticky (I keep a lot of oily/lotion type things in mine). Great for storing my journaling supplies and transporting my stuff from my desk to the couch. Perfect for adding pops of color in the home and organizing my nightstand.

I was introduced to this brand while in Copenhagen and fell in love with their colorful and modern homeware. They sell products in a wide array of price ranges from fun coffee table accessories to high-end couches. I love their striped vases and lamp shades. Such a fun company to explore their product line and find something unique that aligns with your personal style.

I'm obsessed with the Woody Shelving units! They are of extreme high quality and the best quality for someone who has purchased several shelving units from different brands. These look so much better in my space too.

Hay can do nothing wrong, just give me all the Hay. We've got the toaster & kettle, some lights, a blanket, and even a dog leash from Hay, and everything is delightful in style and functionality. The store in CPH is so amazing too.
My go to brand for home items. I love the quality and the color options from HAY - also great for gifts!
Hay offers such a nice array of thoughtfully designed products. I love their color crates, outdoor furniture, lighting, and kitchen items. The Palissade outdoor set is well made and attractive, and definitely recommend the matin lamp where you can change the paper shades out just like a foldable paper fan

I’ve been a fan of HAY for a while and finally invested in a few pieces — a couple of chairs, some home accessories, and the iconic Palissade outdoor furniture. The design is truly where HAY shines: minimalist, modern, and effortlessly cool. Everything feels curated yet approachable, and their color palettes are just stunning.
