East Fork earns strong reviews for beautiful, durable stoneware that stands up to daily use—microwave and dishwasher included—while feeling weighty, balanced, and satisfying in hand; standout pieces like The Mug, Everyday Bowl, Coupe Bowl, and Big Mug draw consistent praise. Reviews also flag drawbacks: limited color drops that sell out quickly, noticeable flaws on some Seconds, mismatched glazes across batches, a plate that didn’t fit a standard dishwasher, and occasional breakage or shipping frustrations.

  • My husband and I were gifted Heath Ceramics for our wedding gift but the one dinnerware that was missing was the small bowls, which were not available. I didn't want a pasta bowl, but something that I could have some cut fruit or a scoop of ice cream. I was glad to see East Fork had the ice cream bowls which was the perfect size and shape I was looking for to complete the set. Even though it was not identical to the Heath Ceramics color, it was close enough. I also added a beautiful rolling pin, a metal strainer for matcha, their waffle kitchen towel, and a beautiful platter for big meals where the table is surrounded by our loved ones. I'm really impressed with the offerings at East Fork, and could see them fill in the gap that used to be Food52. Shipping was perfect and I was able to offer up the packing materials on my local buy nothing to be used!

  • My husband and I absolutely love our East Fork pieces. We recently got 4 tall and 4 short glasses, and they’re even more beautiful in person. I love how each one has its own slight variations, and no two are exactly the same, which makes them feel so special. We also have one of their mugs, and it’s both gorgeous and incredibly sturdy. Every piece feels thoughtfully made and looks stunning in our home. We can’t wait to keep growing our East Fork collection in the future!!

  • I bought an enamel baking dish, a butchers block cutting board and a few small plates. The quality of the plates and butchers block are very clear. The bakeware is pretty basic. I wish they had some slightly more interesting designs for their ceramics as I prefer a more modern look. The price point of the non-core items (eg cutting boards, glassware, etc) is pretty steep. Overall, happy with the items I received, but not their next die-hard.

  • I absolutely love this rolling pin! It arrived quickly and the craftsmanship is outstanding. It’s beautifully made, sturdy, and clearly built to last. It rolls perfectly smooth and even—such a pleasure to use. I’m so excited to have this in my kitchen!

  • East Fork is know for their pottery but don't sleep on their glassware! I ordered a set of 4 tall glasses and they exceeded expectations. I love the weight of them - they feel solid but not too heavy and I especially love the thickness of the glass. They have a few colors but I chose the subtle green and it's so beautiful. They have such lovely imperfections in them. My only regret is not buying more and getting multiple sizes too.

  • I got a variety of products to test, and the unifying quality is how gorgeous everything is. From the metal soup spoons, to enamel serving set, to the cocktail glasses - it’s all beautiful! I think the price point is a bit high, but the items feel luxe at least. And the handmade nature of some of their products (speaking about the wine glasses here) led to some charming differences in sets of products. Specifically, our wine glasses ended up being different heights (totally okay with us, because we love the quirks, but fyi in case uniformity is your thing). The one thing that caused me to do some mental gymnastics was the packaging - they used these triangular cardboard packing peanut alternatives. On one hand, love that they are better for the environment and served their purpose of protecting my glassware. On the other, there were SO many of them and they were a pain (literally, they hurt my hands to clean up) to recycle. I ended up filling a whole recycle bin of them. So while they are effective, recycling the felt like an unnecessary burden.

  • Great quality and value will be shopping again. I did quite a bit of comparison shopping before ordering these and I’m really glad I went with East Fork. The glasses feel sturdy and well-made. Clear, smooth, and balanced without being heavy. The packaging was also surprisingly nice, everything arrived perfectly packed. Now that I’ve seen the quality and presentation, I’ll definitely be reordering for holiday gifts. Their other selections on the site look just as good, so this won’t be my last order.

  • I adore this brand. I started with “The Mug” and they had me hooked. The Mug is the platonic ideal of a coffee mug. Since then I’ve acquired a variety of bowls and wonderful plate/bowl hybrids (blates??) that are my favorite for weeknights. The glazes are all gorgeous but I’ve landed on a pretty white Eggshell for my dining pieces.

  • I just added a few East Fork pieces to my dinnerware collection, which already includes some pieces from similar stoneware brands like Jono Pandolfi. The pieces have that perfect mix of rustic and refined. They are restaurant-quality in durability and well crafted. I've run them through my dishwasher (a must), the microwave, and even a short stint in my convection oven for warming— still good as new. I appreciate that both the bottom and interiors of their pots are glazed because I just don't personally love touching unfinished clay. The glazes are beautiful, each piece a little different in a way that feels intentional rather than inconsistent. I went with the Cool Collection across plates and bowls in a variety of sizes and shapes, and they go so well in my kitchen/dining area. I do wish that I had picked up some of their mugs, but I'm starting to have a problem with my ceramics addiction.

  • I recently treated myself to East Fork’s tortoiseshell carafe with matching glasses, because I decided I want to be the kind of woman who has a bedside carafe, and I’m obsessed. The design is elegant and timeless, and it's high-quality. What really stood out was how thoughtfully they packed it: the packing materials are beautiful and unique, turning unboxing into a small, delightful ritual. We love a gorgeous product and a standout packaging experience.

  • Perfectly weighted and balanced, it just feels so good in your hands. The thickness of the walls is perfect for actually insulating and not burning your hands (but keeping them warm!) with a mug full of hot coffee. No one needs another mug, but you need this one.

  • I’m so impressed with East Fork! My order arrived perfectly packaged, and if you have cats, they’ll be obsessed with the packing materials. The quality is unmatched. I own Heath Ceramics too, and these feel even more refined. The colors are rich, the finish is durable, and every piece looks beautifully handmade. I bought a set, the Big Mug (which lives up to its name and is already my favorite mug), and a candle. I’m absolutely ordering more!

  • I’ve known about East Fork for a long time but this is my first purchase! Being from Atlanta, we travel to Asheville often and know the craftsmanship and pride that goes into everything created there. I was recently in a cool Brooklyn restaurant that used them and felt such a sense of pride for the Appalachian region too. When I saw a collab with thingtesting, I knew it was time to finally upgrade from the IKEA dinner plates I’ve had since my first apartment a decade ago. And wow!!!!!!! These are incredible plates! Heavy and durable. Perfect size with a raised edge to keep everything in. Absolutely gorgeous colors. We got the “cool” 4 plate set and love that they figured out what colors went together for us. I was torn between the morel and heron so when I saw them together, I knew it wa perfect. I also love black mountain! It feels so cool having a gorgeous deep black plate. The colors are so vibrant and rich. We were debating on buying bowls too but decided to test out the plates first. We love these so much, we are definitely getting the matching bowls. We’re officially an east fork family! I feel like such a cool and fancy adult while supporting real people doing really good work in a community I love.

  • East Fork makes gorgeous dishware and pots for grown-ups with taste. I’ve been buying their mugs, bowls and platters ever since receiving a Mug as a birthday gift years ago. They hold up from multiple microwave and dishwasher runs, and are so satisfying to host with, hold on a cozy day, and to just plain look at. My advice for first-timers is to try to shop in-person (annual pop-ups in Emeryville & LA; shops in Asheville, Atlanta, and Brooklyn) if you are picky about the exact markings and quality of these kitchen investment pieces. I have purchased Firsts and Seconds online and the seconds sometimes have really obvious flaws that are disappointing (see the photo of my Big Mug in the deep green color Night Swim). The firsts online seem to be better but of course you’re paying a premium. To save a little coin: look out for the EF groups on Insta & FB, or keep your eyes peeled for their catalogs in the mail that sometimes have a 15% off coupon.

  • 5/5 How can I say enough about East Fork Pottery? The quality? The craftsmanship? The usability? (Microwave and dishwasher safe) The fact that somehow it makes all your food just LOOK BETTER?! Y'all, I can't begin to sing the praises of East Fork high enough. Yes, the prices are steep: but it's worth it. I hope that someday I can replace all my dishes with the beauty that is East Fork.

  • My first encounter with East Fork stoneware was at the Bold Monk Brewery in Atlanta in 2021 and I have dreamed of owning a set ever since! These dishes are so beautiful and well-made. Initially I was worried that they would be really high maintenance but I am so pleased that they can in the microwave and even dishwasher. East Fork stoneware has really elevated my day-to-day eating experience and I couldn't recommend them enough.

  • I love East Fork! My sister purchased a mug for me before I had ever heard of them. I recently purchased a round serving platter in Prune, a Third Wave mug in Gumdrop, a dinner plate on Gumdrop and the shallow dinner set in "Curio". The Curio set had a mix of East Fork's regular glaze as well as some of their newer shiny finishes. The Gumdrop glaze is also a shiny glaze. I love them all! We used the round platter last night too serve a pot roast dinner, and it was perfect! Just enough of an edge that the juices didn't spill, but enough room to hold all of the meat and vegetables. I will be buying more!

  • East Fork has become my newest obsession. The colors and earthy quality make these pieces an heirloom collection that are great for any occasion. The breakfast bowls are perfect for a morning yogurt or quick snack

  • I love East Fork’s ceramics, and the company’s backstory and mission. When they drop a new glaze, I’m always so tempted to buy at least a mug to add to my collection. We also have several bitty bowls, everyday bowls, soup bowls, cake plates and side plates. The colors are beautiful and they’re extremely sturdy and well suited for everyday use, microwave and dishwasher safe etc. The seconds offerings are almost always worth a look too.

  • I am a recent East Fork devotee! I discovered my neighbors' collection of East Fork mugs while pet-sitting for them last year. I was struck by how simple and stoneware-low-key-casual the dishes and mugs are, but yet the quality glazes and color ways elevate any usage of the pottery. Great for everyday, but nice enough to serve guests. I started with a 'Big Mug' for myself, since I love to have extra AM beverage room. Here I have a photo of both the 'Breakfast Bowl' in Yuzu (the bright yellow); and the 'Everyday Bowl' in Heron grey-blue and Gumdrop dark purple glaze---stacked among the 'Coupe' large shallow bowl forms (in Blue Ridge and Prune). The 'Everyday Bowl' and 'Coupe' are super versatile for soups, salads, pasta, full dinner plate--- in the case of the 'Coupe'---but with a lip to hold it all in neatly. The 'Breakfast Bowl' is great for just that-- but I also got a few to share with my cat, since it's better for him to eat out of a ceramic bowl due to allergies. (Yes, he's a spoiled cat! I included his photo for interest) ..... I enjoy supporting a USA small business, especially after the 2024 hurricane that happened in Asheville NC, where East Fork is located---they booted right up again, and are helping their neighbors regroup as well. Shipping was fast and the packaging well-done for fragile items. The only drawbacks are the cost--not exactly inexpensive pottery---and the somewhat limited amount of new colors, and the lack of Big Mugs in their core colors--- but I guess all that is a marketing tactic. Luckily, I don't mind mixing-matching in my dishes, and these are niche fill-ins for me at this point---for items I haven't seen elsewhere. They sell good full sets and serving pieces. I'm sure if I wanted to replace all my dishes or add more sets, I could do that. In my wildest dreams, I might get a few of their recycled glasses!
