Reviews mention

  • Durable, weatherproof gore‑tex shells
  • Lightweight, packable jacket construction
  • Refined, minimalist aesthetic design
  • Versatile, heat-regulating midlayers
  • Inconsistent, unreliable customer service
  • Slim, long-proportioned garment fits
  • Occasional delamination and feather leakage
  • Zipper and boot comfort failures

Arc’teryx earns strong reviews for durable, high-performance outerwear that keeps wearers warm and dry in rain, snow, and alpine conditions, with standouts like the Atom LT/Hoody and Beta shells proving reliable and lightweight. Reviews also flag meaningful drawbacks—fit skews slim and long, occasional quality lapses (delamination, leaking down, faulty zippers/boots), inconsistent waterproofing in extreme cold, and customer service and warranty experiences ranging from exemplary repairs to refusals—making the brand excellent for technical performance but uneven in consistency and support.

  • Quality has gone downhill. If you can find anything made in Canada, it's 5 stars. Just a lot of corner-cutting. Try rebird or buy used. 5 stars if you can find it used, 3 stars if you buy it new.

  • Arcteryx has amazing quality. Their pieces are reliable, last forever, and are well designed. They're so expensive but you know you won't have to replace them. My one gripe with the company is that everything is cut so slim and for people with long limbs. If you're at all petite or have a curve, expect to have super long sleeves/pant legs or some pinching around some spots. I wish Arcteryx would vary their cuts because their pieces are so well made. They could just fit better for some.

  • I have bought and worn their hiking capris for many years. I love the different colors. They have been wonderful for hiking trips and travel. Great quality.

    Their jackets are terribly expensive.

  • Me and my family only buy Arc'teryx Gortex products for shells and ski pants. It's the top of the line, without being gaudy when you are on the mountain. It's the only brand I would trust for a really technical outing and extreme conditions, but I also wear my fleece from here year round and it has held up better than my one from Patagonia. I also feel my down jacket from here is slightly more flattering than my ones from Patagonia. I've also purchased their detergent for washing my down jacket from them, and it worked great. I will admit though that I will continue to buy Patagonia (a.k.a. Pata-Gucci) because even though it has come to be associated with Finance and Tech "Bros," Patagonia seems to care more for the environment and humanity -- which matters to me.

  • Love this brand!! Their clothes fit so well, are high quality and come in great colors. I’ve spent thousands…and probably will continue to invest in more. No need to buy any other outerwear. These just perform. I have the thicker ski base layers (rho) top and bottom, various hoodies, rain coat and snowboarding shell. The non shell products are very soft, move with your body, regulate your temperature perfectly (never feel clammy), and also look great and hold up with real use. The shell/coats really are waterproof. There’s different levels of waterproofing - even in their own products. My experience has been that water literally beads off in torrential downpours. My butt never gets wet from sitting on the snow (unlike other “waterproof” snowboarding pants). Their clothes are a game changer and I completely understand the price point and cult following.

  • Incredible gear for those extreme needs. From hiking to mountaineering, their gear is being put to the rest every day. Their Leaf gear is incredible, and so versatile it’s scary. The only thing I wish was different, the price point. Buy once cry once life though.

  • The brand has become synonymous with high-quailty outerwear and I personally find that it lives up to its promise. The softshell has a better fit than competitors and the material has yet to let me down in a downpour.

  • I have a sample Veilance Boron jacket from several years ago, and it's my favorite jacket to this day. So well made, looks great, and has tons of little secret features.

The ReBird team should be better equipped to do repairs on-site at stores instead of sending items all the way to Canada.

  • Shell jackets which is either durable and stylish. Attractive colors and minimalistic design (which is very uncommon among sport brands). And great quality, of course. They are very pricey, but for some garments they provide guarantee. And I know cases when Arc'teryx send to customer a new jacket instead of one with detached membrane (after 4 years of proper usage).

    Don't forget about guarantee.

  • For outdoor winter sports, like skiing, this brand is perfect. The quality is super high - my ski jacket and pants have lasted over 10 years! Plus you look like a proper professional with the sleek, sporty design.

  • High performance gear that costs a pretty penny but is worth it. Their rain jacket is better than anyone else's IMO!

  • My husband loves these guys. He dropped Patagonia for them for his entire sky gear.

  • As a Canadian, I love supporting other Canadian brands. Arc'teryx is a brand headquartered close to where I live, so as a Vancouverite, I've been to several of their stores. I got my first jacket at the flagship on Burrard Street in 2017 when they opened and have worn it many times over the past five years. The jacket is lightweight, stylish, and incredible quality. While I mostly use my Arc'teryx clothing for day-to-day living, I know I can count on the brand for other endeavors like climbing, hiking, and skiing.

  • Never liked the aesthetics of Arc'teryx but since I came to Vancouver, everyone wears this brand and it grew on me. I was able to get some great deals from an employee there but shipping was super slow. Quality is very good and products look better than expected when you wear them.

Colors are not fashionable, sizing is not friendly for petite people and the fit doesn't always make sense, and clearly this is an outdoor brand, do not wear it for business casual (looking at you, Silicon Valley duche).

  • I’ve had their rain/down jacket before and it is so goood! The waterproofing/resisting is amazing and it is such a good layer to wear under a thick coat as well if needed!

  • Amazing quality. Diverse array of gear. Waterproofing is outstanding. Fashionable design with functionality at the forefront

  • Arc'teryx is obviously top notch when it comes to quality, but my favorite aspect of this was the ease of repair when I had a hole in my jacket. Sent it back and within a few weeks the jacket was back and repaired

  • Everything I have from them I love! I have a very compact down jacket that is great for layering. It is SO warm but not bulky at all. I also “borrowed” and kept my mom’s ski shell and love it. The hood is annoying, but if you were to buy one without a hood that wouldn’t be an issue! So high quality, so warm, and looks great. Can’t recommend enough, if you can afford it!

  • I saw someone in my family having to replace their jacket every snowboarding season and decided I would get them something they would never buy for themselves as a gift. The quality and craft are impeccable.

  • I have one pair of arc'teryx hiking pants and I love them. They're super lightweight, clean very well, and a very comfortable fit. They have great materials and craftsmanship, and very cool designs.
