Reviews mention

  • Luxurious, earthy fragrance profiles
  • Elegant, minimalist packaging
  • Indulgent, sensorial hand washes
  • Compliment-worthy, unisex perfumes
  • Excessive, premium price point
  • Inconsistent perfume scent longevity
  • Plastic, leaky pump bottles
  • Irritating, fragrance-heavy skincare

Aesop earns strong reviews for luxurious scents, elegant packaging, and body-care standouts like Resurrection and Reverence Aromatique Hand Washes, yet opinions split on value. Reviews praise sensorial formulas that feel indulgent and often effective for hands and body, while noting weaknesses: high prices, plastic/leaky pumps, perfumes with short longevity, and some skincare that irritates sensitive skin or underperforms.

  • Have been buying different Aesop products for personal use and for gifts for years. It's a great option for a gift (beautiful packaging / sets, decent products, amazing smell, etc), but there are only a few products I would repurchase for my own use. I've tried a range of products including hair care, face cream, mask, hand wash, hand cream, body wash and even the poo drops. Out of all that I've tried I would probably repurchase the exfoliating hand wash and the poo drops. The effectiveness of the other products are only average. I think their shops are always very nicely designed. I love that they take back packaging for recycling, even bottles that are from other brands! They even give out a free tote bag to thank you for recycling.

  • overpriced. You are paying for the look of the bottle and the brand name not the actual product.

  • If I could afford the entire line, I would! I love the way their ingredients are showcased and effective, and the smells are so good! A male friend introduced me and I love that it was gender-neutral, too.

  • I have been an Aesop fan for years. As someone with eczema flare-ups and sensitive skin, I am always looking for product that is gentle and moisturizing. Most of my dry skin and eczema patches are on my hands. I use Aesop’s Resurrection hand soap and hand lotion and they are both gentle, high quality, and luxe feeling. The hand lotion in particular keeps my hands moisturized without feeling greasy. It absorbs quickly and smells amazing. The only benefit I wish Aesop would add on is refillable bottles as I hate waste and chucking out the soap bottles every time I run out creates a lot of recycling. I thought the standing Aesop stores would have refill stations, but they don’t. The only option is to keep the pump and change out the bottle. It’s pricey, but worth it if you prefer quality.

  • When you make a product people like so much that they book specific hotels just to swipe it from the bathrooms you know you got the goods. I’m speaking from experience. I want it all. I live to gather more Aesop.

  • Aesop's scents (not only in perfumes) are simply beyond comparison for me. They are earthy, green, and just not too much. The only downside is pricing, obviously.

  • Aesop can do no wrong in my eyes. Beautiful products, quality ingredients, no BS celebrity endorsements, just a great brand all round. I love gifting friends hand creams and body oils as they feel like such a luxurious treat. No notes. The Breathless Body oil is...chefs kiss.

  • Love this we Knees product. Every drop has aroma plus some small grain for a stimulating wash. I bought several products for 3 years. Price is high but worth the money.

  • I’ve used Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm as well as their hand soap. If you have the money to spend, I think Aesop has a lovely, high-quality luxury line. If you don’t, I think there are terrific, much-cheaper alternatives available. Their products can make great gifts.

  • Their lotions are my favorite! A little goes a long long way, and they are all super super moisturizing!

The best hand cream for cooks/people who do a lot of dishes!

  • Love the handwash scents and the packaging is really iconic. Only downside is that it's pretty expensive to purchase and refill.

  • Good soaps and lotions, nice premium scents. Feels a bit sterile and corporate as a brand though.

  • The best pricy housewarming gift is the hand soap or hand lotion. Might be too expensive to justify regular replacements in my own home but DANG the smells are excellent and you feel luxurious.

  • Overpriced, but if you buy them and refill the bottles, no one will ever know. No one will ever know.

  • Very nice products. I'm obsessed with their hand creams and the camellia nut facial cream but I know a lot of their products can be too botanical/herbal smelling and be strong so I recommend trying things out in person if you can! The staff I have met at different stores have all been wonderful, nice, and knowledgeable!

  • Really love the skincare products (eg soap, lotion) to be high quality, particularly the unique scents. The product is quite expensive, but is part of the luxury experience. Have found the design of the packaging and the in store experience at Aesop physical locations to also be very compelling

    High price point

  • Everything smells beautiful and deep. However, everything beyond fragrance, aesthetic, and clout isn't worth it. Functionally Aesop has better or equal competitors at much lower price points, but if you have money to burn and love the way they smell, it's hard to match.

  • I've been an Aesop lover for several years now. Their Resurrection hand soap and now hand sanitizer is always in stock at my home. I've used many of their haircare and skincare products as well. Love everything about this brand and what they have to offer.

    Bring back more seasonal products!!!

  • Been a user for 7+ years. Just a really great brand. Their mouthwash and hair mask are my absolute favourite products.

  • I know it's expensive but it's effective and worth every penny. I even got my frugal dad hooked on their soaps. He's tried to find every dupe but can't find one that's even close to Aesop. Their hand lotions are actually nourishing and smell divine!
