Tony's Chocolonely

Tony’s Chocolonely earns strong reviews for rich, creamy chocolate, inventive flavors like Milk Caramel Sea Salt, Dark Almond Sea Salt, and Dark Milk Pretzel Toffee, plus mission-driven, fair-trade sourcing. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some bars taste overly sweet or bland to dark‑chocolate loyalists, the thick, uneven pieces are hard to break and share, and concerns appear about heavy metals in certain dark varieties and salt intensity in caramel bars.

DELICIOUS. 10/10
The toffee chocolate bar is delicious. I also love candy in all forms and didn’t even realize how unethical chocolate could be. I appreciate a brand that makes a quality brand that actively works to improve a situation and has a clear mission.

So so delicious. One of the best i’ve tasted. Thick chocolate bars that last a while.
Hands down my favorite snack I've tried in a long time. I have bars of dark milk pretzel toffee in my pantry stocked at all times. I especially love their mission and their brand is present from their packaging down to their product.
So far I love every flavor I've tried and I love the mission of the company!

No notes! Keep making chocolate please!
truly cannot walk by one of these in the checkout line without taking it home with me. the caramel sea salt one? chef's kiss.
Although it's a little more pricey than your average chocolate, it's definitely worth the upgrade. Tony's Chocolonely is super rich and creamy with tons of different flavors. I used to be a hardcore milk chocolate gal, but even their dark chocolate bars are smooth and delicious. I love the bright package; it gets me pumped to break off a piece every day. Besides the delicious chocolate, the peace of mind I receive by knowing that my chocolate is made ethically is unmatched. One downside is that I can't find these chocolate bars everywhere. They seem to be regulated to specialty grocery stores. My favorite flavors are milk chocolate, dark chocolate, and milk wafer chocolate! <3

Great chocolate, with lots of flavors to choose from (everything from super sweet Raspberry White to more bitter Dark chocolate offerings). It is also easily the most bang for your buck in all of the groceries I shop at, coming in at 5 dollars a bar for the bigger bar. I did not vet the slave-free claims, and at that price point I am a little suspicious, but that does not affect how I view the product (I actually went and looked it up as I was typing this review, and it does seem there is some criticism to be made in that department).

A better sampler pack would be huge to give as a gift!
My husband will literally go to the CVS down the street just to pick up this chocolate bar. Is it $5? Yes, but it is a great treat yourself snack. Also they have a lovely mission and it's just downright good chocolate. Also also I LOVE the cool design they've implemented on the chocolate bar itself.

High qual chocolate in fun flavors! Love the packaging.

I don't understand the break patterns at all- not super easy to break apart, gets crumbly and is hard to portion.

The chocolate tastes great and I love the packaging.
I really like their mission and their chocolate. I'm not a huge chocolate person so the bar can last a long time for me but I do find the chocolate enjoyable.

Great!

Love the flavors, love the packaging. Always love a focus on lower sugar *without* sugar alcohols if they were to go into that!

All of the flavors I have tried so far have been incredible! And absolutely love and support their mission.

In my experience is only available in the higher end grocery stores (which makes sense given the price tags) but would love being able to support their mission while doing a run at my closest grocery store.

Is honestly great chocolate. Definitely worth it!
My favorite chocolate ever!

great as is.
A lot of what I liked about this brand is not there anymore. I bought Tony’s bc it’s easy to find, and slave free. However recent news about their production line has been worrying. They found 1.7k slaves in their production this year - a huge jump in numbers - last year was just below 400. This and the fact that they were removed from slave free chocolate lists makes me reconsider buying their chocolate. As far as the chocolate: - fine price point - higher end but more chocolate for your buck - it’s an OK recipie - somewhere between mass market and chocolatier - it’s a little dry and a little lighter than I’d like. - the biggest issue is accessibility. Breaking the big size chocolate bar SUCKS. Especially when chilled. It’s hard to share bc of the pattern. If Tony’s is for everyone they gotta fix that.
Feedback
-make the bar more shareable/proportionate w easier breaking. This isn’t a preference, it’s an accessibility concern. - keep making slave-free chocolate. That loss of certification leaves a bitter taste - not in a dark chocolate way.

I appreciate that they are ethically sourced. Great flavors and product.

The large bars could be easier to break apart.
Love the stuff. The hazelnut and the pretzel bars are my favourite

The packaging just breaks down as you break down the chocolate - appreciate might be difficult to make something that’s eco and doesn’t deteriorate but still
