Thinx earns polarized reviews: many report it works—comfortable, leak-preventing overnight and on light-to-moderate days with stylish high-waist, boyshort, and thong options—yet significant concerns surface. Reviews cite PFAS scandals, inconsistent sizing and fit, lingering odor, limited absorbency and edge coverage for heavy flow, bulk in higher-absorbency styles, and durability issues like fraying elastics and seams.

I really liked using my Thinx until I found out that they contain harmful chemicals. They are super absorbent and comfortable and easy to wash. I will probably keep using the pair I have but will not purchase any more.

It would be really great if Thinx could change their material to one that does not contain PFAs. Not only have these chemicals been to health problems, but they also remain in the environment forever.

I made fun of these until I got a pair for Christmas and I love them now.

They fit larger than most panties.
I love thinx and am so grateful for them each month. Their products truly make me feel more comfortable and confident during my period because I know I am unlikely to suffer an embarrassing leak. I am glad period underwear are gaining in popularity and that my daughters will have the choice to use them.
They used to plaster ads all over the subway in NYC and I ended up buying two pairs as a result. It works alright, but definitely need to change in the middle of the day on my heavier days, which makes it inconvenient. Also, they are quite pricey...
I really like how these fit/feel and I contiue to wear the 4 pairs that I have but Thinx has been found to have PFA's in their undies. I think PFA's are in a lot of products we consume (i.e. sparkling water) so I try not to worry too much about it.

Ditch the hazardous chemicals.
I use them with a menstrual cup and the combination really changed how I deal with my periods every month. It's no a hassle anymore, I'm always prepared. Great styles of undies!
I have three pairs and need more, make sure to use the absorption rating when purchasing for those heavy flow versus light flow days

Larger absorption area in the front of the underwear
When my period is around the corner, the first thing that comes to mind for me is to grab a pair of my Thinx underwear in case it comes early. The pairs I have invested in are intended for medium and heavy flow, and I've always felt comfortable in them, however, I do not feel comfortable using them alone -- I usually pair it with a reusable period cup. My favorite is the hi-waisted heavy flow design because it's sheer on the sides and so sexy!

Could use thicker material for heavier flow days, PFAS
Love the various style options they offer. Undies are very comfortable, cute, and sustainable, but not the best thing for my body. I would much rather purchase a pair of undies made of natural materials sans endocrine disrupters.
These cause UTIs. They are a festering ground for bacteria, so be careful not to wear them overnight or for any period of several hours.
Honestly, was very surprised I liked this brand. I have heard about it for years but never took the plunge as $35 can be a lot to spend on an individual piece of underwear. However, I instantly loved mine once they arrived. I ordered the full coverage high waist pair and it's so comfortable for sleeping, with or without a period that I will absolutely consider buying more. Only reason for 4/5 stars and not 5/5 is that I wish I felt more comfortable machine washing but understand hand wash is best to maintain quality.
I'm all in on THINX. Bought a pair or two for every day of my period, which interestingly has gotten shorter since using these. I like the Cotton versions as I find they are most comfortable. Also, a big fan of the Thong and Hi-Waisted options.

Super Absorbent does not truly hold 5 tampons worth. But, I can wear one pair all day or night (12 hrs) on moderate days.
Super comfortable period undies. I stopped using single use period products after I found Thinx. I started with just one pair to test & have been adding to my collection ever since! Now I have many different styles in my closet. Strong recommendation! I also love their inclusive website "for people with periods".
I use a birth control ring, and instead of using tampons once I put my ring back in to end my period, I prefer to use period underwear. I like how they offer fun colors and styles that aren’t too “granny panty”. I have a medium flow and can wear them all day with no leaks. My only qualm is that I get nervous washing them - they have to be washed in a very specific way.
I truly love the idea and mission behind Thinx, but the product is not as versatile as you'd hope. I have a pretty heavy flow, so it's incredibly uncomfortable to wear just one pair throughout the day. I mostly use my Thinx at night and whenever my period aligns with the days I get to work from home. They are also not the easiest to clean, so I can't reuse them as often as I would like. All in all, I think they're a great option if you have a light flow or to simply wear at night, but I wouldn't wear them during the day if you're at work or need to run errands.
I really like Thinx; their products work and feel comfortable. My reason for giving it a 3/5 is that I felt uneasy after the PFA settlement. I don’t wear mine anymore but did enjoy trying period underwear.
I only have one pair at the moment but I do love them! I have the briefs and I’ll admit they feel a little bit like a diaper but I prefer it to pads or tampons.

Maybe a bit pricey for single pairs of underwear. I hope to get more at some point. It’s just a bit more than I have to spend on single pairs of undies at the moment.
I love the concept, washable + reusable period underwear is my preferred method of menstrual care and I used to use these as my primary brand of period underwear. Unfortunately, the big Thinx lawsuit came out and had me doing a 180 on this brand. I'm not a scientist and I think the issue is much more complex than "chemicals are bad", but even doing a bit of light reading and internet research on the lawsuit had me questioning the marketing choices behind Thinx and how irresponsible it seemed (which is unsettling for something that is such a key healthcare device in my daily life).

A lot more research, education, and transparency on the Thinx products would need to happen before I come back to the brand. It is a bummer because I did think the Thinx underwear were more absorbent + leak-proof than my current brand of period underwear, but obviously any potential adverse health effects are a non-negotiable.
I love these undies and reach for them when my period comes. I love that the inside is black so you can’t see any staining and I have never had a leak. My only complaint is that the non corn material makes me sweat and is not that comfortable, think really thick bathing suit bottoms, but it may also be the cut is not that comfy (sport cut) and eventually wedges up my butt. The brief or traditional undies cut in cotton are my favorite. I’ve had these several years now and they are still going strong.

Thinx has, unfortunately, lost its shine for me with the most recent settlement about leaking forever chemicals. But long before that I was disillusioned with how some stains never got out of their underwear, requiring several pre-rinses before tossing them in the washer and ruining part of their ease. I've also dealt with leakage on more recently purchased pairs (within the past six months) long before it was supposed to hit full, despite buying the right heaviness for the appropriate days of my period - making me question the brand's quality control and consistently.
