The Reformation wins praise in reviews for flattering, event-ready dresses, chic silhouettes, and a standout tech-enabled in‑store fitting experience, yet the brand draws sustained criticism for inconsistent sizing, thin or unlined fabrics, and quality that often fails to match its reputation. Reviews describe great jeans and timeless styles alongside complaints of shrinking, pilling, and poor construction, plus fit skewed toward tall/slim bodies and frequent frustrations with returns and customer service—making it a try‑in‑person, piece‑by‑piece proposition.

I love the way their clothes look, but anytime I buy something from here, they break or lose its shape within 5 wears or so. Whether that’s a loose thread, broken zipper, or the clothes shrink. If I’m paying over $100-$200 for a piece of clothing that is supposedly sustainable and long lasting, I expect it to be quality but it’s not.
As a mid size (14-18) person this brand has not been suitable for me. The Extended sizes are fare more basic and limited. I really love some of their pieces, I just wish I could wear them.
The quality isn’t great but the styles are cute. I like their vintage stuff.

High quality, beautiful clothing, with only the best most sustainable values in mind and carried out. I bought my wedding dress here and was so proud to be wearing something by this company. Also, VERY expensive. I only own the one piece of clothing from them….but wish I had a whole closet full.
Trendy styles, cheap-feeling materials. I've tried on a few dresses and the patterns and fit are great but the materials feel very cheap.
Disclaimer I only own one item. I bought a dress for a wedding and man oh man does that material wrinkle so easily. It also feels like such poor quality totally not worth the $100-$200 price point the dress was. That dress has kept me from buying anything else.

I have dresses, tank tops, a blouse, a skirt, and a pair of shoes from Reformation. It's safe to say I really like this brand haha it's my go-to for what I call "event clothes"–clothes I need for special events. I love that you can find almost any sort of outfit for weddings, going out, bachelorette parties, etc. I'm particularly a fan of their matching sets!
Feedback
The prices are steep, especially for the types of fabrics they're using. I wait for their big sales twice a year and end up saving 40-60% on prices! Another thing to look out for is the length of their pants and longer dresses. I'm about 5'4", and their clothes are definitely fit on a tall person. Hemming may be necessary for some of their items or pairing their clothes with 4" heels. Lastly, their clothes tend to run true to size or a bit small. I did try one matching set that was a crop top and pants, and it was too big (even after I sized down). The fit will most likely vary depending on the clothing type.
Reformation's pieces are classic and feminine. I love their staple styles, which are classic, will look great overtime, which keeps them sustainable on another level. I appreciate their transparency as a brand. They stay relevant without needing to have 1000 products and new releases weekly. Anti-fast-fashion.

The sizing is a bit inconsistent across items. In the loose/stretchy stuff, not a problem, but more difficult ordering some things as their are very few physical stores.
The styles are both timeless and trendy, and I appreciate the mission for the brand in sustainability in fashion, a growing issue for the environment. I have a few items from here that I've had for years.

My feedback is mainly for the fabric and the price. The fabric of the dress I have is very thin, and started to pill on my third wear. It looks and feels like a cheaply made fabric, even if it is sustainable, I would opt for something else and only wear it on special occasions.
One of the few brands that I think is actually worth the money. High-quality dresses that are always flattering and petite-friendly (even for non-petite sizes). Shipping is pretty fast for major cities as well.
While their in-store experiences are really beautiful and I appreciate the eco-friendly mission of the brand, I have found most of their clothing super tight in the chest, prone to shrinking, and generally cute and uncomfortable.

My biggest gripe with Ref is their inconsistency of sizing. Especially in a time where everyone is online shopping, knowing your sizing will be reliable is key.
Their trend-forward designs and a lot of the prints. Their website e-commerce styling is also incredible - great mix of the best designer accessories worn with their pieces.
Feedback
Their reputation... their founder is reportedly a little bit mean, and I do question how they can be 'sustainable', churning out so much product. How much deadstock fabric can there really be?!
I am obsessed with this brand. the styles the fabrics the designs it is top tier this being said, i do not like how pricy it is and that one piece is typically $150. I would agree everyone who shops with this brand would say the same.

I have one dress from here and it has lasted me many wears. I’ve heard different opinions depending on the type of item but I love their dresses.
My favorite place to shop. I have had Reformation dresses for 5+ years that are absolutely timeless and hold up so well. Everything fits my body perfectly and makes me feel the most confident

Love the fit and style of Ref's dresses. While pregnant and postpartum, this was the only brand that made me feel good when wearing. I've recommended to tons of mama friends.
I do think the brand is overpriced for the quality, but I will say the designs and cuts are really spot on. If your physique suits their styles, the pieces really are flattering.
Favorite brand. Appreciate their sustainability practices and transparency, and love the styles
I went to the reformation store in Chicago 2 months ago and it's beautiful. I really do love the look of the clothing offered by this brand. With that being said as someone who is 5'1" and 133 lbs, this brand is not short people or people with a belly. It was really disappointing trying on a bunch of styles. The designs were definitely made with the intension of being for the tall and thin, which is fine but not inclusive. I was originally interested in the sustainable mission but after reading it's more likely green washing.
OBSESSED. I have recently deep dived into the world of Reformation and am loving every minute of it. My recent purchases have included a dress, sweater and pants. I paid full price for these items and purchased some online and others in stores. Customer service was great when I ran into an issue with my dress!
