Stumptown Coffee earns strong reviews for consistently bold, reliable blends like Hair Bender and Holler Mountain, excellent cold brew (including Oatly variants), and wide, easy-to-find selections—so yes, the brand is good and often works as a dependable daily pick. Critics cite pronounced acidity/sourness, occasional bitter or strange aftertastes, limited options for dark-roast lovers, and inconsistency over time in the cup, making it less ideal for those who sip slowly or prefer smoother profiles.

Some of their coffees are better than others but overall Stumptown has great offerings, and I can often find it on sale at Whole Foods. They actually have excellent cold brew concentrate, and at a really good price. I usually go for the single origin Ethiopian coffees because I like brighter, more fruity coffees and I'm never disappointed.
Awesome coffee. I buy these from my local Fresh Market. Some of the tastiest and highest quality coffee that is easy to find and for a good price. I really enjoy making a french press with their beans. It's not too oily. They have a ton of awesome flavors.
Pre-pandemic, this was our go to office coffee. The medium roast provided a tasteful brew. :)

Appreciate the coffee and its packaging. Like that it's available in supermarkets as well though IIRC, if you happen to buy from a Stumptown coffee shop, they'll also give you a free cup of coffee.
It's good coffee. I'm on the east coast so getting west coast coffee feels sorta weird. And I'm not picky enough that these beans seem to stand out.
buy this by the bean for our at-home espresso machine. no complaints, pairs very well with the homemade cashew milk i make :) I compare it to groundwork coffee - also delicious (we trade off between the to)

My fave coffee, Holler Mountain is our usual morning coffee. Also love the cold brew from the store, it's been our consistent go to for years.
I go for this when I don’t want to experiment and I know o want something good.
Fresh coffee and fresh packaging! Roast was exactly as described with a Medium full flavor.

Love it and appreciate the Freshness date.

Great coffee but the pricing is a bit steep. Love the branding. Hairbender is still one of my favorite go-to morning blends.

Lower cost to compete with local coffee completion. I live in Austin, Texas and there are a ton of craft coffees that equally as tasty for less..

Whether I’m at the store, the airport, or elsewhere, I will go out of my way to get Stumptown coffee. I’ve never had a bad cup! My go to roasts (and frequently what’s being brewed at shops) are medium roast, rich, and chocolately.
I’m definitely not a coffee drinker because ~anxiety~ but oooooooh I love the Stumptown Oatly cold brew found in many stores. It is so balanced and nice and uses my fave oat milk, Oatly. I still get jitters because cmon it’s cold brew and I have a panic disorder, but it’s nice enough to risk it.

I would just like to see it in more stores!
i actually drink the bottles (cardboard) pre made not their beans but obviously made from their beans. i like the cold brew coffee with oatmilk (oatly).

its not cloyingly sweet or bitter & the individual bottles are the perfect size of coffee for me & easy to grab & go. sure some ppl will come for me saying its not good do single use but they do say the bottle is 100% recyclable packaging—made from 53% renewable material. definitely bit expensive for 1 bottle which i have only found at whole foods but not more than cup frum starbucks.
Darn good coffee. Brewing a pot of coffee using Stumptown grounds yields a cup of joe that tastes as good as one from a local cafe. I've tried a variety of different brands of beans and grounds from the supermarket, and Stumptown's is top tier.
Tried some roasts that I've loved, some have not been a fan of. Their packaging is great and customer support is super helpful. However, this brand is not the most inclusive for dark roast lovers like myself.

More dark roasts please.
I've been drinking Stumptown Coffee since before it was acquired by Pete's and I still think it is great. It's one of my gotos for whole bean coffee because it has really bold and consistent flavors. Even if you're not a hardcore coffee person, this brand is still a solid pick.
There are a handful of coffee roasters I recommend to people knowing there'll be a wide enough variety of beans and roasts to satisfy their needs. And Stumptown is one of them. A good mix of evergreen blends and seasonal selections.

Not much.
Holler Mtn (pictured) is definitely not their best bag but I love starting my day with Stumptown every day. The coffee is great and I love that Stumptown is a public benefit corporation. All the bags have cool designs and everything is just very high quality. This is a company that cares.
Anything I have ever had from Stumptown is always quality. From the packaging to the bean you can tell everything is considered. I worked at an agency with Stumptown cold brew on tap and it was SO STRONG (good thing for people looking for energy, bad thing for people with heart palpitations)

Quality coffee but not my favorite. Strange aftertaste. This is problably me, I am a cold brew fan and my tests have been mostly pre bottled cold brews.
