Some of their coffees are better than others but overall Stumptown has great offerings, and I can often find it on sale at Whole Foods. They actually have excellent cold brew concentrate, and at a really good price. I usually go for the single origin Ethiopian coffees because I like brighter, more fruity coffees and I'm never disappointed.

Always a solid choice- when in doubt, pick up Stumptown.    Thankfully they are also very well distributed at this point, making it easy to find a bag or a can at most local grocery stores. 

I love the oatly cold brew and the very strange but surprisingly tasty strange magic cascara soda. 

Interesting example of lame patronizing and complacent customer treatment.  Bitching about costs and charging loyal sub members (5lbs a month) more money while you offer new customers a massive 15 % off five orders.  WAKE UP AND REALIZE WHO PAYS YOU LOYALLY.  YOU OFFER A DEAL TO NEWBIES HAVE THE BASIC DECENCY TO OFFER IT TO YOUR REAL CUSTOMERS.  COUNTER CULTURE IS A WEBSITE AWAY  

We've got an important update to your subscription. Starting August 19, our 5lb Blend subscription will increase by $10 a bag. So organics will go from $85 to $95, and all others from $80 to $90.

I love Stumptown! Such a great brand, they have awesome coffee blends available and their Oatly combination coffees are great, I like the chocolate and original. I enjoy using their beans for my French press in the morning. 

I'm not much of a coffee fan but when I visited Portland, I bought one of the coffee bean packets since it said they were famous for its coffee. The taste is very acidic and sour which was a bit different experience I have had with other coffee beans. 

Living in Portland, Oregon for several years, Stumptown was definitely a staple coffee I came across a lot. And it's great at exactly that, a staple coffee. There is definitely better coffee out there to find but this is reliable and easy to come across usually and always solid

BIG Stumptown fan! I love their beans and their pre-packaged oat milk coffees/lattes on the go. Highly recommend the Hairbender blend - that's my personal fav!

I go for this when I don’t want to experiment and I know o want something good. 


One of my favorite coffee roasters ever. Love that I'm starting to see this being sold in Target and other popular grocery stores.

It's good coffee. I'm on the east coast so getting west coast coffee feels sorta weird. And I'm not picky enough that these beans seem to stand out.

PRODUCTS & OVERVIEW: Holler Mountain Blend (Organic Whole Bean). It is comparable to Cafe Vita's Queen City blend. Both exhibit the creamy caramel and light but sweetened flavor profile. I originally purchased this as a "dupe" to that of Cafe Vita but I have really grown to love this blend. It's a multi-layered, creamy, caramel, and molasses tasting bright citrusy cup of coffee. The slightly acidic, smooth, and buttery finish is to die for. I look forward to every cup of coffee in the morning - especially grinding the beans fresh before brewing. 

WORTH THE PRICE? I initially grabbed my first bag since it was on sale. However, I definitely purchased it later at full price. This specific blend is very robust and light since I use a chemex as my preferred brewing method. I typically drink my coffee black or with half a packet of splenda so I like to use quality tasting coffee. With that being said, I prefer spending the extra buck for this blend. If you are looking into getting into coffee, definitely check this brand out - well worth the price if you are an avid drinker. 

AGING STUDY: Initial Review: Again, I was instantly transported back into the Seattle coffee scene when I had my first cup of this blend. I thoroughly enjoyed my first bag. Months later: This is the only blend of whole coffee beans I purchase at the store. I usually try to pick up a bag of local coffee (support local) to try their blends or single origins, however, they just don't compare to Holler Mountain. I would like to pick up other blends but this one just hits all the notes and tastes that I prefer. Their website is chocked full with insightful information and is worth mentioning. 

BRAND MISSION:After a quick search, Stuptown aims to deliver coffee that is all about pleasure. It achieves exactly that. It is apparent that the brand is very intentional about their sourcing, roasting, and quality of their coffee beans. It is an easy decision to get behind the mission of this brand. If coffee is something you need to enjoy/taste subtle differences, then this is for you. If you are a typical consumer and not super into this niche, then a cheaper brand is more than sufficient.

Stumptown is reliably decent. The flavour is never terribly exciting, but it's always a great fallback option.

I have frequented the 8th St. Location in NYC and like the espresso, but struggle with the bitterness of the coldbrew and regular coffee. More of a personal preference for smooth coffee. Also the associates are not always that friendly. But very cool vibes! I have never purchased a bag of coffee to brew myself. 

Pre-pandemic, this was our go to office coffee. The medium roast provided a tasteful brew. :) 

Awesome coffee. I buy these from my local Fresh Market. Some of the tastiest and highest quality coffee that is easy to find and for a good price. I really enjoy making a french press with their beans. It's not too oily. They have a ton of awesome flavors.

My fave coffee, Holler Mountain is our usual morning coffee. Also love the cold brew from the store, it's been our consistent go to for years. 

I've been brewing Stumptown and patronizing their cafes for years. I think, even as they've scaled, they've been able to maintain the high quality of their product. They also have quite a variety of beans from various origins, altitudes, roasts, etc, which makes it easy to find something I'll like every time I order.

Honestly pretty over hyped. There are sooo many better independent roasters who are more innovative & have higher quality coffee.
