quip earns mixed reviews: it looks refined and travels well, but its brushing performance trails true electric rivals. Reviews praise quip’s sleek, lightweight design, mirror-mounted travel cover, timed 30‑second pulses, and hassle-free refill heads (often with batteries). Many criticize weak vibrations that act more as a timer than a cleaner, bristles that feel too stiff or wear quickly, fragile heads and motors, hard-to-remove parts, and occasional mold or gunk buildup—some dentists urge switching to oscillating or higher-powered brushes.

Its fine - its really just a mediocre toothbrush

the actual head doesnt seem too impressive

I loved quip initially, but the product really does not last very long. I’m constantly having to shake the new batteries to get the toothbrush to turn on. They also take longer than three months to ship your new brush head and the batteries don’t last till the next shipment.
Feedback
Use better batteries and improve product longevity.

I used to love my quip but I feel that their quality has gone down significantly. I got one for my now husband and the button kept breaking/not working. We replaced the battery, got him another toothbrush, and he just kept having issues with it! Once I outlived my last replacement head I moved onto another brand.
Feedback
Nothing on my end- it would be great to be able to buy the other products in stores!
Quip is the opposite of the typical electric toothbrush - it’s sleek, small, and easy to store. The mirror cling toothbrush holder is slim and minimal, keeping your toothbrush off the counter while not drawing any extra attention to it. The toothbrush works well, however, I am not quite convinced it’s as good as dentist-recommended alternatives such as oral-b.

I appreciate the automated subscription sends for new brush heads and batteries, but sometimes the battery on my toothbrush dies before I get the package.

Not particularly innovative product but my husband uses his everyday so it's probably still better than a regular toothbrush. The design is nice.
Feedback
The battery that comes with the replacement heads are really unnecessary. It would be great to just be able to buy the heads, without battery, without subscription.

I’ve had quip since a podcast add convinced me to buy it years ago

I wish less of the integral pieces were made of plastic
I purchased it from Target after years of seeing it on TV. It was fairly unremarkable and left me feeling like my teeth weren't clean. The timer hardly ever worked.
I had used this toothbrush for a few years and it didn't really help me improve my brushing. I felt like I use the vibrations as an excuse to feel like I was brushing better, but I didn't. And instead, I was mostly bothered that this felt like a product of form over function.
Feedback
The toothbrush head could be different, mimicking the Oral B health shapes or something that rotates beyond vibrating, and would actually improve toothbrushing. Otherwise, I'm shelling out a lot of money for replacements that also have a lot of unsustainable packaging (even if you swapped to paper/biodegrade-able packs).
The toothbrush is great! I love the idea of getting a new head every few months and not having to decide if I need to replace the brush or not. I also had an issue with the brush head not fitting correctly and customer support was INCREDIBLE. I sent them a few pictures of the issue and they sent me a brand new head within days.

I wish I didn't have to get the toothpaste included in the package. I prefer to use my own but that might be a personal thing.
I used quip for about a year and the only reason I stopped was because I wanted softer bristles. I really like that it times how long you should brush and has a gentle cleansing vibration.
Feedback
I would like to see different options for brush and bristle types, particularly a softer one.
I think it’s really cool that it shows you what areas you need to focus on brushing more, and can help you track your brushing.
Feedback
I think the brush is a little weak as when i’m brushing the head will literally pop off.

Subscription is unnecessary and hard to manage/ make adjustments to. The brush looks great, but the little motor in mine broke down after a couple of months, so this has basically functioned as a regular non electric toothbrush for me for the last year.
Feedback
Usability could use improvement and customer service.
Like many others, I bought the quip for the design. I’ve enjoyed brushing with it — love the 30 second intervals to let me know when to switch. I find is super convenient and lightweight for traveling, but I hated the subscription management. Oftentimes, my new brush head and battery would be set to ship while the brush head was still in good shape and the battery was still going. When I reached out to support to ask about a way to pause my subscription or move the shipment date, they said the only option was to completely cancel and restart my refills at a later date. Needless to say, I canceled.
Feedback
Give customers better control over their subscriptions or add an option to sell brush heads without the battery. (Seems silly that they don’t when they, at least at one point, had a rechargeable batter option too.) Also quality control on the brush heads. I’ve had a one with a randomly long bristle.

Tried these for over a year, found the price was expensive for similar quality to products I could find at the drugstore.
I like my Quip. Both my partner and I use one. I like that they're small and sleek. I've had to have mine replaced maybe two or three times over the past several years, but they take care of you as long as you're subscribed to the refills.

Really convenient size and the quarterly toothbrush head subscription is extremely convenient.

Would love a compostable toothbrush head option.
I've always preferred electric brushes, and I fully converted to Quip a few years ago. I love the size of this compared to other electric brushes. It's easy to travel with, and I feel like it does a good job cleaning my teeth. Love the ease of the subscription to change out my heads every 3 months. And it's a good price.
Feedback
It's tough to change the head, and I've had many issues (including breaking the brush) sometimes. I also wish there was a travel case or something to make the holder less... gunky over time. The germaphobe in me gets freaked out by that.
I used this brush for two years. The brush and battery was replaced every 3-6 months. I liked that it was timed for two minutes and started up and ended in two. I am not sure if indeed this brush worked better than my old toothbrush as the dentist did not notice a difference.
Feedback
The opening up of the brush was difficult for me. I broke brushes at different times and I needed to take a picture to show the company how it broke. They did send replacements, but I still had difficulty opening the brush to exchange the battery and brush. I gave up and canceled my subscription.
I've been a Quip subscriber for 3+ years and have not had any negative comments from my dentist in that timeframe! The toothbrush is great and the ordering process is great. The website is easy to use and navigate and allows you to pause subscriptions if need be. I really like the design of the toothbrush and the fact that you can hang it up (always thought how nasty toothbrush holders were). The brush heads and battery last a while and are easy to change when needed. And for $5 a head, really a good price!
Feedback
I would suggest different heads for the toothbrush, i.e. bristles for sensitive teeth/gums. I know this is something that I would definitely change my subscription to.
Quip is realllllllly not for me. I bought the blutooth tooth brush in the pandemic out of sheer boredom and it did nothing for me. It is no better than a standard toothbrush, the vibration is minimal and weak compared to other brands. I signed up for the subscription to get the toothbrush, the new brush head and new batteries. The first time I tried to change the brush head, the toothbrush as a whole completely broke. I tried to replace it through customer service and they were having me jump through so many hoops that it was not worth it. Then I tried to cancel my subscription multiple times and I still get it even though I do not pay for it. I really do not like this brand
