Oura ring has been praised for its ability to effectively track sleep, wellness, and overall health. It performs well in identifying factors affecting health such as alcohol and illness. The ring is also admired for its stylish design that easily blends with everyday wear. However, it falls short in accurately tracking certain physical activities like yoga and rock climbing. Users have also expressed dissatisfaction with the ring's poor battery life, expensive monthly cost, and unresponsive customer support. Some users have also reported issues with their ring's software and device connectivity.

I have an Oura ring Gen 2 in gold. Almost immediately after my return window closed, the Gen 3 was announced with many more features. I wrote in to see if they could give me a better deal to upgrade considering how recently I had purchased it but customer service was very unhelpful. When I first got it, one of the things I most liked was the super long battery life. Now, the battery is not as great and customer service has not been helpful at all with a repair or replacement. For the hefty price tag, I would have hoped the product would have a longer useful life. Aside from the battery issues, the app is easy to use and the gold coating has held up better than I thought it would.

Ive really loved my experience with oura so far. I think its great how integrated it fills with my look and having it be a ring. I also initially bought it because of the natural cycles collaboration as well!

I do wish you could track live HR for more activities and I hear it can scratch easily like if youre using weights for example

I picked up an Oura ring in 2020 prior to them revamping their platform into a subscription service. I absolutely love my ring and actually had it replaced at no charge in 2021 due to failing battery life. My new ring's battery has preformed much better. Oura has totally transformed my sleep and recovery habits!
Feedback
If I was looking to purchase the Oura ring today, I'd likely think twice due to their new subscription model. I prefer one time purchases and am unlikely to purchase products tied to a subscription.

I had the 2nd gen and then upgraded to 3rd. Overall I like that it's taught me a lot about what affects my sleep - but you really need to look at the data and 'do the work'. Also looks nice / not too clunky.
Feedback
It does get scratched up. Don't know if the new monthly subscription is worth it for new customers. And I wish it did better daytime workout tracking - not a replacement to my fitbit. It's also kind of slow to load my data each morning.

I’ve had my oura for over a year (I bought it in October of 2022, and I bought it in gold) and I am in total love with it. It is exhaustive of metrics that tell you a lot about yourself, beyond sleep, I mainly use it for recovery and reproductive health (it is very good at gauging stress and temperature). One thing I’d love if, especially when the ring is turned off, for a manual logging system to be there and a more user friendly experience in the logged data. In order to maximize on its use, I really recommend actively monitoring your metrics. I have passively checked in on my trends and I feel like I have used it the way I used my Apple Watch, and that shouldn’t be the case. Also goal setting what you want to look out for before purchasing allows you to gauge whether it’ll work for you and how it will. Buying mine in gold, as someone who wears a lot of solid gold, has allowed it to be a functional accessory that blends in with my daily wear. (a lot of people thought it was a cigar band, I have also worn it to a wedding and it wasn’t clocked as a fitness device) and a year in it really kept its color and with minimal scratching. I don’t wear it when showering, but I think you’re safe doing that (I just avoid having it contact soap, but wore it swimming once and it’s ok). This has been great for focusing in on sleep and wellness and overall health (former apple watch / whoop / fitbit wearer here!) + picks up on cardio and walking / running automatically which is nice to be able to confirm later + has a variety of activites that can be logged + connects with applehealth and strava etc + appreciate the sizing kit that they give you beforehand + decent battery life sidebar: particularly impressed with the body temperature and (new!) stress tracking. It seems to know when I'm about to feel unwell / my cycle tracking before I do! - does a poor job of picking up yoga or other heart rate-steadier activities - can't wear it rock climbing

Oura rings have been great for tracking sleep (or lack of sleep) and movement. Recently they added the tracking for stress levels which has been both illuminating and alarming. I like that they keep innovating this product.

Let me start off by saying that I LOVE the ring itself--pick any color and model, honestly they all do the same thing it really just comes down to what color you like and $. Love being able to track my sleep and I find that I look forward to reviewing the data it provides each morning around my sleep and readiness score. But if you believe that customer service/customer experience is tantamount to the product itself, you may NOT want to purchase this ring and here is why: 1) If you find that you have any inquiry or issue, the only way to reach a customer service representative is via email. 2) When you reach out to customer service via email, there is no indication that your email was received and how long you should expect to wait to hear back from customer service. 3) Their customer service is like a toxic boyfriend, will leave you on read or completely ghost you. When you do hear back from ANYONE, its after having to follow up multiple times into their black hole of a customer service queue and there is no guarantee the follow ups from the first interaction will even receive a second response (If you follow them on any form of social media, you will find that majority of the comments left on their posts are specifically related to the needing someone from customer service to assist as its become the only method to gain traction) You would think for such a high barrier to entry (ie cost of ring itself + monthly subscription fee) for a product such as this, you would get somewhat decent customer service, right? Nope. Would I recommend this product to a friend? Likely not given the frustrations with their customer service in the event said friend may run into any issues.

I love my oura ring, especially when paired with another activity device like an Apple Watch! I get so many compliments on it and people are amazed that a tiny ring could be so powerful! Pros: tiny, integrates well with any tracker you’re currently using, beautiful, waterproof, gives valuable insights that very few other devices have, and there is nothing like it. Cons: useless without subscription, devs are always promising new features to justify membership but they are usually a year(ish) late to delivery, the gold scratches easily even though I baby mine, they recommend you keep the battery above 40% which means you have to charge it more frequently than advertised. Overall: definitely worth it but must be paired with another device if you care about activity insights!

I mainly got this ring because I hated the way my other fitness tracker looked on my wrist with most outfits. Asthetically speaking, this ring is so much nicer and incognito. It’s lightweight and comfortable. I hardly even know it’s there. I do think you need to be a bit of a data person to enjoy all of the great features of the ring. I’d suggest getting this is you’ll actually look at the date and try and make little changes in your lifestyle to make some of your habits better. Probably not for you if your MAIN goal is to track fitness. There are features in the software but I don’t believe their super accurate.

This ring will give you insight that might or might not help you improve your life but overall great product. A bit expensive but for the kind of data collection and look of the ring its kinda worth it. The battery life is outstanding and the scratch resistant is been good so far. I dont like that after a few months you gotta pay a subscription to use it but most of the important information is on this subscription.

Maybe after charging about $400 for a ring dont charge a subscription? Seems greedy? Other than that solid product. i’ve had my oura ring since october of last year. i originally purchased it due to the integration it has with the natural cycles app. but after having it and using it. it’s been used for so much more than that. i really enjoy the sleep tracking aspect of it. as well as the readiness tab. it’s fun to earn crowns for the day if you get optimal scores, but it’s also nice to see how and why you get the scores you do. i recently got an apple watch and i’ve also been enjoying THAT integration bcz i really don’t like sleeping with my watch on…but i never take the oura ring off. i only take it off to charge that one time every 1.5 weeks or so. it’s a super forgiving product. it goes with everything i wear. and when i see people in the streets with it on, we share a giddy, childlike enthusiasm for it. we geek out together and rave about how much we love it!

I just got an Oura ring, after being an Apple Watch girlie for 6 years. I was wearing the Apple Watch daily for notifications & fitness tracking, but it needed to charge every night so I wasn't getting any sleep analytics on it. So, I got the oura ring because 1) it looks great with my other rings, and 2) it has a battery life that lasts over 4 days and charges in under an hour, which means I can get a lot more actionable data (like on sleep) from it. My oura ring informed me that my resting heart rate spikes over 10bpm after just a glass or two of wine, so now I'm experimenting with giving up alcohol for a while to see how my overall health and sleeping improves. I wouldn't have made that realization if I wasn't collecting this data daily/nightly to see how my body is impacted by the various things I do and consume. I also started stacking it with other delicate rings to make it a bit more trendy and fit in with my other rings I wear. I've recommended it to so many people now - it's definitely a bit pricey, but totally worth the investment in your health and wellbeing!

I've had the oura ring 2 and now 3rd generation. Overall the ring is super light, durable, and the app easy to use. Being able to see how alcohol, food, and other elements affect my sleep patterns has been immensely helpful.

The interface for workout imports from health and other fitness apps doesn't sync right away sometimes. Other than that it's pretty flawless.

Had the Oura ring for about 2 months now and it's been helpful seeing the amount of data it would give you. Sleep is something I've been wanting to focus on improving, so I've been using the ring to track trends in my sleep habits, see how things like a late meal impacts it, as well as using it to track my activities too. There's a manual add for workouts which is helpful as I don't wear my ring when using weights to prevent scratches. It's also super simplistic which I love! I usually wear a size 5 ring but the 6 fits me - if you have small fingers, just be cautious during the winter time. My fingers constrict when it's cold out and the ring becomes pretty loose, so just be careful.
Feedback
The ring breaks down your sleep data so you can track light, deep, REM, etc. I use it more to see how my sleep has been trending, as some times I'm not sure how accurate it is e.g. it'll tell me my latency (how long it takes you to fall asleep) is <10 min. when on certain nights I know it's taken me an hour to fall asleep.

I had Oura 2 and I was delighted, now I was forced to replace it with Oura 3. Overall I really like it, but I get four stars for how the brand communicated to users the introduction of the subscription model. In addition, I am waiting for the app enhancements promised in the Oura 3 version. If this opinion was about Oura 2, I would give 5 stars, for Oura 3 I can give 4 for now after changes in the application, however, this rating may decrease to 3 or increase to 5. After the changes and the introduction of the subscription model, expectations towards the brand are very high, and time will show whether the brand will be able to fulfil them.

I love the concept and the ring itself, I just wish they made it in smaller sizes!

I think the Oura ring is a cool purchase, and I generally think it's a valuable product. I will say that I think it's best for people who are on the high end of the fitness/wellness/self-care spectrum - I'm not quite so high on that spectrum, so I don't pay quite as much attention to the metrics on a regular basis and don't actively try to analyze them. But friends who do care more about all of that absolutely love Oura and are obsessed with checking their metrics multiple times a day. Because I'm not quite as obsessed, I don't love paying the monthly subscription fee - but I still do anyway. Style-wise, the ring fits well alongside other jewelry (gold, for me). It has gotten a bit scratched from everyday wear, but nothing outside of what you'd expect for jewelry; I'll probably replace with a new one in a year or two.

This review is regarding Gen 2 of the ring. I’ve used my Oura ring nearly every night for just over two years. I love biometric data and was looking for ways to better understand the quality of my sleep to identify how to positively impact it. For years, I’ve had terrible sleep quality. Oura fit the bill. With some experimenting and Oura’s data, I’ve identified techniques and supplements that help improve my sleep. I think most of these techniques can be learned and experimented with without the Oura ring (for example, no screens an hour before bed, cold room, etc), but I think the ring and it’s data helped me identify it faster and with some concrete evidence. One of my learnings was that Ashwaganda, which is often used as a supplement to improve sleep actually keeps me up! I know the ring is on further generations at this point and I believe the Gen 3 ring actually nearly requires a subscription (very limited data without one). My Gen 2 ring wasn’t affected by the monthly sub introduction. I’m not sure I’d see personal value if I had to upgrade to a Gen 3 ring and subscription.

I ended up returning my ring. For the price, I didn't feel like it was quite worth it. The ring was bulky and big on my finger and was easily scratched from daily use. I felt like the information provided was helpful but not enough to have a big impact on my day-to-day life. Additionally, I hate that there's a subscription fee for the app! With the high price for the ring, the app should be free in my opinion. Overall experience was 3/5 - thankfully they had a very easy return process where I was able to try the ring out for a bit and they had no questions when I decided a few weeks later it wasn't for me.

I purchased this ring to pair with my natural cycles app and I will say, it was a game changer. If you are using Natural cycles, being able to skip the morning thermometer made the process so much easier! There were a few times when it didn't work correctly but no major issues overall.
