I've been following Oura for 8+ years and I'm impressed with how their rings have become simpler and more stylish. Talking to friends who use it, opinions differ; some appreciate the detailed health insights, while others find it overwhelming. As the product evolves, I'm curious to see how Oura will balance this by refining their customer journey, offering a more streamlined experience for those who find it too informative, and a "pro-mode" for data enthusiasts.

I've had my Oura ring for about 2 months and I absolutely love it. It was a pricy purchase and I don't love that I have to pay a monthly fee, but in the time I've had it, they've added some handy new features to the app that I appreciate, I hope this continues to happen as that definitely makes me feel better about paying monthly for the app. I could get into the weeds about how much I love the ring but overall, the apperance is subtle (I barely notice it anymore), its lightweight and super comfortable, and I really love the insights it's provided me. I pay more close attention to my sleeping habits, I find it helps me stay more active, and I also use it to track my cycle. I found I liked having goals when I used to use my apple watch, but this feels much more passive and my speed, but I'm not using it for heavy fitness tracking. If I wanted more stats, or if I was going to the gym I would probably still wear my watch.

This has been great for focusing in on sleep and wellness and overall health

sidebar: particularly impressed with the body temperature and (new!) stress tracking. It seems to know when I'm about to feel unwell / my cycle tracking before I do!

Loved it for a while then the insights weren’t worth the cost of the relatively expensive monthly cost. They do constantly update it and are trying to do more with womens health data in particular. 🩷

I’ve had my oura for over a year (I bought it in October of 2022, and I bought it in gold) and I am in total love with it. It is exhaustive of metrics that tell you a lot about yourself, beyond sleep, I mainly use it for recovery and reproductive health (it is very good at gauging stress and temperature). One thing I’d love if, especially when the ring is turned off, for a manual logging system to be there and a more user friendly experience in the logged data. 

In order to maximize on its use, I really recommend actively monitoring your metrics. I have passively checked in on my trends and I feel like I have used it the way I used my Apple Watch, and that shouldn’t be the case. Also goal setting what you want to look out for before purchasing allows you to gauge whether it’ll work for you and how it will. Buying mine in gold, as someone who wears a lot of solid gold, has allowed it to be a functional accessory that blends in with my daily wear. (a lot of people thought it was a cigar band, I have also worn it to a wedding and it wasn’t clocked as a fitness device) and a year in it really kept its color and with minimal scratching. I don’t wear it when showering, but I think you’re safe doing that (I just avoid having it contact soap, but wore it swimming once and it’s ok).

The ring breaks down your sleep data so you can track light, deep, REM, etc. I use it more to see how my sleep has been trending, as some times I'm not sure how accurate it is e.g. it'll tell me my latency (how long it takes you to fall asleep)  is <10 min. when on certain nights I know it's taken me an hour to fall asleep. 

Had the Oura ring for about 2 months now and it's been helpful seeing the amount of data it would give you. Sleep is something I've been wanting to focus on improving, so I've been using the ring to track trends in my sleep habits, see how things like a late meal impacts it, as well as using it to track my activities too. There's a manual add for workouts which is helpful as I don't wear my ring when using weights to prevent scratches. It's also super simplistic which I love! I usually wear a size 5 ring but the 6 fits me - if you have small fingers, just be cautious during the winter time. My fingers constrict when it's cold out and the ring becomes pretty loose, so just be careful. 

Had my Oura ring now for 18 months. Feb of 2024 it started to act weird, showing that I walked 6.8 miles when in fact it was about 2 miles. Then it kept showing that my steps per day were higher than actual as compared to a treadmill or Google watch. I called the company, they have you reset the ring and then literally put on the charger and slam it down on a solid surface!! REALLY??  So I did all that they recommended and still nothing. They finally said they would send this issue up to the next level so they could give me a solution....THATS BEEN 4 MONTHS NOW!! I email every month and get the same canned response...sorry for your issue we are working on a solution.  I asked for a replacement and they said the ring can be fixed so they won't replace?? BUT they still have not come up with a solution... In the meantime I am walking 15000 steps which really is about 9000.... Ring sounded like a great monitor BUT this ring is not worth a penny if it can't do what is advertised!

I’ve used my Oura ring every day for over three years now. Comfortable to wear. Holds a decent charge. And provides valuable feedback that doesn’t make me feel too fixated on an end goal and I can live my life while making small tweaks to my lifestyle. I really love seeing my body temperature change throughout the weeks 

I've had an Oura ring for about 1.5 years now. I was the typical Apple Watch-obsessed girl looking for a less bulky option. 

Overall, I like it. Am I obsessed?? No. But I also think that's a good thing. I was addicted to my Apple Watch (it dictated my life frl) so I'm happy that this allows me to track my wellness/fitness more healthily. 

What I do love about it is the holistic approach it takes. For example, after a night out, it's crazy to see how alcohol affects your sleep, heart rate, and overall readiness. When I'm sick, it's interesting to see what exactly about my health is declining (i.e. temperature, sleep, etc). And I loveeee the sleep tracking. It made me realize I go to bed way too late. It's habits like this that the Oura ring brings your attention to. 

My only complaint is the software. I wish when you wake up every morning, your sleep, readiness, and activity scores from the previous days pop up in a notification on your phone. Currently, you have to go on the app, wait for it to load (which lowkey takes awhile?), and then you can check your data. Since I'm not obsessed, I sometimes forget to go on the app and then none of my data uploads for that day and it's blank. 

Overall, this is a nice to have, not a need to have. But if you are someone embarking on a health journey and want to make better life choices, I would 10/10 recommend!

It's not the most comprehensive health tracker, so if you want to look at tonnes of different metrics it might not be the right wearable for you. 

I was resistant to any type of health tracker for ages, but during the pandemic my quality of sleep took a hit and I wanted to understand more about what was impacting my sleep cycle. However I really wanted something minimal and without a screen that might steal more of my attention with notifications (sorry apple!) so an Oura ring felt like the right choice for me. The rings are sleek, small and capture data around readiness/stress, sleep and activity, which were the most important for me.

I purchased the Oura ring about 5 months ago. I find the information it can track is impressive. I haven’t had any issues with the ring so I cannot speak as to customer service. I have received a notice that they are offering additional months if free service which is a plus. This is a convenient effective wellness tracker. The ring is comfortable, although a little bulky. The sleep tracking feature is terrific and I have improved my sleeping habits as a result. I do wish the activity tracker was a little better. The battery life is great. I am looking forward to the updates. Overall I am very happy with my purchase. 

Not the most ideal workout tracker -- few options -- even though it does track heart rate and steps.

The ring is surprisingly light and the gold is a nice yellow gold (not brassy). It also looks nice even on shorter fingers. It's great at picking up sleep, heart rate, and other cues and has helped me get more effective sleep.

I wish there was a feature to create your own tags outside of commenting below the preset tags. (Or if they just expanded the tag section to include more variables and actions.)

I've had my Oura ring for about 10 months now, and I really really like it! Over time it doesn't feel very bulky at all and I love getting insights on my sleep and overall wellness. It's such a comprehensive look at your health, and I love using the meditation audio feature in the app. The ring is quite accurate and very insightful. It picks up on skin temperature differences and it's often accurately been able to tell when I have started to get sick or I pushed myself too hard in working out. It makes me feel much more confident in the fact that I lead an active lifestyle without fully realizing it. I appreciate its metrics and insights on how much activity I get throughout the day, because before the ring, I would've felt bad about not being "traditionally active." Oura helps me see how much activity I actually expend throughout the course of the day and helps me calibrate.

The black showed up fingerprints and scratches pretty easily, so I was often (more than once daily) cleaning it. 

The latest version of the app, which shows variation in blood oxygenation, means that the ring has a red glow at night. I often sleep with my hands by my face or above my head, which sometimes wakes me up if the ring turns around at night. This wasn't the case before the latest software update, and I know I can turn this function off, but I don't want to, as I like the insights. 

I love the Oura x Gucci collab and WISH I had this ring—I can't wait to see more collaborations in the future.

Oura is in my top five favourite purchases of all time. I absolutely love it. I've used Fitbit and Apple watches in the past and really struggled to wear them 24/7 as they tend to pinch my arm when I sleep, and never loved showering in them, but Oura was the wearable I could finally wear 24/7 and felt comfortable.

My fingers swell and hold fluid changing quite a bit in size, especially in the heat and in the summer months, so I was nervous if Oura would be suitable for me before purchasing one. If you have the same thing with your hands, here's my pro tip: Oura will send you a sizing kit to figure out your size. Wear the size that fits for a couple of weeks, and purchase one that fits your desired finger on your larger hand (most of us have one). When your fingers swell, it will likely fit the same finger on your other hands, and voila, swap around.

Oura's insights are simple to understand and easy to turn into action that matters to change my behaviour to get the desired results in my life—whether choosing an earlier bedtime, increasing my daily exercise, or ensuring I move every hour. 

My favourite insight? Using my daily readiness score to decide what workout I will do that day. While I commit to at least five workouts per week, I use a system to do my most challenging workouts when my readiness is the highest and the easier ones on the days when I might need a bit more recovery. 

Colour-wise? I've purchased Oura Black, Stealth and currently have the Gold Heritage version. I loved all of them—they are exactly as pictured on the Oura website and socials.

I've been wearing the ring since 2018 and have loved each generation upgrade and watching the product development and innovation. 

I was part of a 6-month study with Oura and the University of San Francisco throughout COVID where I volunteered my data to see if Oura could predict COVID when, or before COVID-19 was contracted. I love that Oura is dedicated to improving the well-being of humanity.

I just got an Oura ring, after being an Apple Watch girlie for 6 years. I was wearing the Apple Watch daily for notifications & fitness tracking, but it needed to charge every night so I wasn't getting any sleep analytics on it. So, I got the oura ring because 1) it looks great with my other rings, and 2) it has a battery life that lasts over 4 days and charges in under an hour, which means I can get a lot more actionable data (like on sleep) from it. 

My oura ring informed me that my resting heart rate spikes over 10bpm after just a glass or two of wine, so now I'm experimenting with giving up alcohol for a while to see how my overall health and sleeping improves. I wouldn't have made that realization if I wasn't collecting this data daily/nightly to see how my body is impacted by the various things I do and consume. 

I also started stacking it with other delicate rings to make it a bit more trendy and fit in with my other rings I wear.

I've recommended it to so many people now - it's definitely a bit pricey, but totally worth the investment in your health and wellbeing!

The product doesn’t take menstrual cycle into account at all. The cycle affects sleep as well so Oura often gives bad recommendations. So would recommend to people without a menstrual cycle.

I love how easy it is to track sleep and spot trends in my sleeping patterns. Especially how much stress affects me. I can see clearly from my data when I’ve been on holiday and when I’ve been working.

I love my oura ring, especially when paired with another activity device like an Apple Watch! I get so many compliments on it and people are amazed that a tiny ring could be so powerful! Pros: tiny, integrates well with any tracker you’re currently using, beautiful, waterproof, gives valuable insights that very few other devices have, and there is nothing like it. Cons: useless without subscription, devs are always promising new features to justify membership but they are usually a year(ish) late to delivery, the gold scratches easily even though I baby mine, they recommend you keep the battery above 40% which means you have to charge it more frequently than advertised. Overall: definitely worth it but must be paired with another device if you care about activity insights!

Our ring constantly reminds me to take a better care of myself my tracking ny heart rate and sleep quality.    I’m thankful to my brother who gifted me the on my birthday.    I also like its simple clean design.   I’ll be gifting Oura to my best friend on her birthday! 

I love my Oura Ring. 

I love fitness trackers as I have used Fitbit for over 5 years. However, I was over the look of wearing a fitness watch especially when I would go out. It sounds vain but it does ruin your outfit but I still want to track my steps if I'm walking around (which you do a lot in NYC) or if I'm on the dance floor!

So when I heard of Oura, I was immediately drawn to the fact that it was a ring. So discreet. However, at the time it was only in silver and I am strictly a gold jewelry type of woman. So I patiently waited until they made it in gold and then once it came out, I purchased it immediately. 

Now, the superficial notes aside, the true reason I love it, is because of its unique purpose of focusing on tracking your sleep. Most fitness trackers do not care about that but over the past year, I've read and learned about how truly crucial sleep is to have good health. If you want to start anywhere, you start with your sleep and work from there. So the unique insights Oura provides me on my quality of sleep are so helpful for me to understand what I need to improve on. Every morning I wake up and do a quick body scan to see how I feel and then I sync the app to find out my sleep score. It is fun to see how the tracker and how I feel match up. Now I focus on attaining the best score I can which is hard for me since I am a night owl so I normally hover in the late 60s but I will get better! I also love that it tracks my steps and workouts. 

Overall, I highly recommend it. It is expensive but worth it. And the ring is beautiful! No one ever knows that it is a fitness tracker and it shocks people every time!

Also, recommend using the ring sizer or just size up on your normal ring size. I am always a size 7 in rings but I bought a size 8 for oura. 

I'm the absolute biggest fan of my oura ring. I've been wearing it since April 2022, and I check my app every day to make sure I've hit my activity goal/sleep cycles. Super helpful to track my period too. It is pricy, but 100% worth it. Trying to convert all of my friends to get oura rings!!!
