  • Additive-heavy ingredient list
  • Seed oil, rapeseed inclusion
  • Occasional digestive discomfort
  • Sometimes overly sweet taste

Oatly impresses in reviews for café-worthy performance—its Barista Edition froths reliably and delivers a creamy, smooth texture that elevates coffee, matcha, and lattes—while dividing opinion over formulation. Fans praise the rich mouthfeel, neutral-to-oaty flavor, and versatility across baking, cereal, and smoothies; critics cite seed/rapeseed oils, gums/additives, sweetness, and occasional digestive upset as drawbacks. Overall, Oatly is considered a top-tasting, highly consistent oat milk for beverages, but less appealing to buyers prioritizing ultra‑clean ingredients.

  • The taste is great and the slim packaging is super helpful to fit into the fridge without taking up too much space. I used this for my cappuccinos and it did a great job of foaming like normal milk.

    Feedback

I would love to see a version that is low on sugar/ oil! That's a big drawback for me with all oat milks.

  • Loved Oatly when it first came out as the smoothest non-dairy milk alternative on the market and will still have it with my coffee if that's what's available. It does have more sugar in it than I would like though. Their ice cream was also the creamiest non-dairy ice cream I've tried, but it does have a strange aftertaste.

If there could be a version with no or very little sugar as possible in it, that would get me back on board! Unsweetened Silk Soy has 1g of sugar per serving and is just as smooth (and consistently low stock or sold out at multiple supermarkets).

  • I love oat milk, and this is one of my most loved brands for it, but not my favourite one.

    Feedback

The flavor and overuse of water.

  • Great milk alternative! Super creamy

    Feedback

    Hard to find in stores

  • It is the best tasting oatmilk and delicious with coffee or espresso. Full stop.

    Feedback

I don't like the full fat nor low fat options. I also have yet to try their other products like oatgurt and their ice cream.

  • Love oat milk, but super bummed about the ingredients in oatly and the studies they’ve done on how it effects glycemic index after consumption. It’s basically fast food in a bottle, but marketed as healthy

    Feedback

Simplify the ingredients. Remove inflammatory oils and thickening agents.

  • The ONLY brand of oat milk you should drink. I'm lactose intolerant and can't tolerate cow milk as of about 6 years ago, so I went down the alternative milk path for my daily tea. Almond, soy, coconut - nothing was better than milk in my tea... until Oatly. There are plenty of other brands of oat milk out there, but I assure you I've tasted nearly all of them - and none compare to the magic of Oatly. I far prefer Oatly over milk now in my tea and have tried their other products like Oatly ice cream, which is also delicious.

The only thing that is a bummer about Oatly is that it isn't in *every* grocery store. We always keep a backup carton in the house so we don't run out. (:

  • I love Oatly. A lot. To the point where I used to have 3 oat lattes a day. But I was feeling super sluggish, and bloated, and I couldn't work out why (after something caffeinated?!) I was gutted when I checked out the ingredients list and did a little more online snooping to find out it's full of rapeseed oil - not good! Since I've switched to having black coffee my energy levels are up and I actually feel the impact of the coffee! I do have an oat latte every now and then cos it's soooo delicious but yeah - sad times!

    So many additives!

  • Best tasting oat milk around, plus love the packaging, branding, and the new product categories they are trying out

    Feedback

Not the healthiest, so would love a healthier version

  • Used to love oatly, it's thick, creamy, and one of the few plant-based milks thatt doesn't curdle in tea or coffee.

    Feedback

Actually has a high amount of added sugar (7g) because of their process. I would consider that too high for first thing in the AM in coffee or cereal.

  • I continue to go back to Oatly, because it's the best tasting and texture of Oat Milk out there. I love the barista blend for my everyday morning lattes! It's the best.

    Feedback

I've caught bits and pieces identifying that Oatly isn't a super sustainable/eco-friendly brand. I'd love more transparency about what they're contributing to that conversation.

  • Switched to non-dairy milk in the past year and Oatly has been a good substitute. Helps make my drinks more creamy. Took a rating down as the the ingredient label is a bit iffy

  • Oatly tastes great and has become my favorite milk substitute!

  • When I made the switch from almond milk to oat milk, Oatly was the first brand I tried. It tastes great and has many of the essential vitamins that other oat milks don’t. My only critique is that rapeseed oil is an ingredient. I prefer a formula that doesn’t include vegetable oils.

  • Taste and texture of the Original version are the best of all the other oat milk brands on the market. I use it for lattes, where you can definitely taste when the milk doesn't have a great flavor. Great distribution, so easy to find.

    Feedback

"Fibre-rich" and "nutritious" are a stretch: there are a lot of good reasons to sub it for other milks, but it's not better for your personal health.

  • The only mylk I get since going dairy free 2 years ago! It froths the best with my espresso machine and doesn’t separate as much.

    Feedback

As is required with all mylk, shake shake shake before use or your coffee will do weird things.

  • When oat milk came into vogue, I remember trying Oatly for the very first time and understanding why it caught on so fast. It was revolutionary to me that I'd found a milk alternative I genuinely enjoyed and actually considered to replace regular milk. Almond and soy milk were never really my taste but I loved the creaminess, nuttiness, and slight sweetness of oat milk, especially with Oatly. The packaging is also super entertaining and easily identifiable on grocery shelves.

    Feedback

It's not always available where I regularly shop and I've since turned to other oat milk brands. I'm also not entirely a fan of the added sugars in oat milk and am constantly looking for healthier alternatives in this category.

  • Adore Oatly. The best oat milk I've had, with n>20 at the very least. And their social media team responds to shout-outs :)

  • I feel like I've tried every single oat milk brand on the market and nothing compares to Oatly. It's the consistency that really makes me love it and I think it is just fantastic in my coffee. It's got a thicker texture than regular milk and is a healthier choice for me.
