KitchenAid draws raves for performance and longevity, with reviews calling its stand mixers “workhorses” that last decades and elevate baking, meal prep, and pasta-making—yet they also flag real drawbacks. Many praise the powerful, versatile attachments, sleek design, and easy cleaning, while critiques cite heavy, bulky ergonomics, noise, occasional poor bowl reach/mixing at the bottom, hand-mixer cleaning hassles, and inconsistent durability for certain large appliances and accessories.

super high quality items that last forever definitely worth investing in (I use my mom's kitchen aid mixer she got over 25 years ago)

Love my mixer, there’s a reason it’s a classic kitchen staple. Have had it for 12+ years and it works just like day one. Can’t find enough good things to say about it.
I have mixed feelings on my kitchen aid. I think it's a great product, but it's not something to purchase lightly. I only bake every now and then and 99% of the time it's easier to just mix it myself rather than take out and have to clean the mixer. I use it mostly to make bread because it's the hardest to do by hand. I do have attachments like peeler but I don't often use them. I think it's one of those purchases everyone thinks they need, but at the end of the day they dont.
The stand alone mixer is a game-changer for functionality in the kitchen and also always looks cute on your kitchen counter. KitchenAid makes some really creative attachments like a homemade pasta maker you can buy separately, but beware they are pricey.
Absolute kitchen brand staple. I have the stand mixer and some smaller appliances. This brand is a great investment and my grandmother still has her stand mixer of 20 years - which still works like a charm. Really great brand of kitchen appliances that I use constantly and stand the test of time.

We've had a KitchenAid 5 quart bowl lift mixer for over a decade and it's still going strong. We added on the meat grinder and the pasta rollers and it's a very versatile unit. Also repairable - we had the gears give out after about 5 years but were able to easily replace and works just as good as new. The mixer attachment doesn't reach quite to the bottom of the bowl, but we added one with silicon blades that easily scrape the bottom and sides and works great.
I have a mid-level kitchen aid stand mixer. I got mine before they started getting creative with the bowls and colors because it lives on my counter, I would think that upgrade would be worth it. It is a workhorse, I make bread, cookies, cakes, etc. with it and have never had an issue. I did have to replace a couple of my attachments because they wore out, but it took some doing to wear them out, and replacements are easy to find on Amazon.
the tried and true for stand mixers. had the classic (4.5qt) one for a few years but recently upgraded to the 6qt because i now bake a lot more sourdough -- it makes it so much easier and faster. also obviously excellent for "regular" baking. no dupe will ever compare!

Kitchen aid is one of my favorite kitchen appliance brands! Even though they are pricey, I think their products are 100% worth the money. Super high quality and so many options to choose from!
For years I wanted a KitchenAid mixer, but I could never afford one. Still can't really afford one, but I made do with having an array of red Kitchen Aid accoutrements instead. Their knife block is as much of a showpiece as the mixer would have been, and I've used they're measuring cups for going on 20 years now. Quality, sustainable products are what I'm after in the kitchen, and after all these years I have not been disappointed.
My mixer is my most prized possession. Kitchen-aid can do no wrong in my eyes. SO worth the money; their mixers last forever (have yet to encounter any problem) and work so well!

We love our KitchenAid and have several attachments including the ice cream maker. Definitely makes baking an easier task.
Can you even call yourself a baker if you don't own the KitchenAid? Love my mixer and use it so much - definitely made me a better pastry chef! The only downside is that you need a lot of space for both the mixer and all the extra attachments that you will find yourself purchasing.
What would I do without this stand mixer. Yes, obviously, use for baking needs! But also recently purchased the pasta attachments and I will never buy box pasta again.

The KitchenAid mixer is iconic kitchen perfection. It cannot be beaten. A fight over who would inherit a Hobart model KitchenAid mixer nearly ended a speaking relationship between siblings a generation ahead of me. I grew up with that mixer, learned to cook on it, and bought the exact same 40-year-old model secondhand for my home when I moved out. I’m confident my descendants will be fighting over it in another 40 years, because it and my parents’ mixer have never had any issues, and have many fine attachments that are also apparently indestructible. They are heavy and difficult to move, but I’ve never known anyone who had one of their mixers that didn’t have a permanent place of pride on their counter.
I have been baking since I was a little girl but slowed down once we moved into a house with a small kitchen because I felt I never had enough room to work with. Well, husband and mom got me a kitchenaid mixer with a ton of attachments and since then, my husband and I are both using that thing almost daily! We feel better, can focus on other things while it does the tough work for us and is very easy to clean and use.
Expensive but worth it. Was given a 15 year old KitchenAid stand mixer that looks and runs like it’s no older than a year

I absolutely LOVE my stand mixer! I’ve had it for years and it still works as brand new. My grandmother has had one that still works perfectly for 10+ years which influenced me to purchase. Mine is matte black and looks so chic on my counter. It’s so easy to use and clean
In 2005 when I was registering for my wedding I was in Willam Sonoma and saw the power pink mixer. Pink is my color and I had to have it. I still have it and it's just as good as day one. These are built to last, and since then I've gotten the handheld blender, which is awesome for mixing small items. All of our kitchen spatulas, spoons etc. are also KA. And we ONLY buy their scissors since they are the best and cut perfectly. I keep replacing the colander because the rubber feet fall off all the time, but I love the size of it, so I put up with it.
