Glossier delivers effortless, natural-looking makeup that many reviews praise—standouts include Boy Brow, Cloud Paint, Lash Slick, Stretch Concealer, and the “You” fragrance—while frequent critiques cite sheer coverage, short wear, and hit‑or‑miss skincare. Reviews of Glossier highlight intuitive, finger-friendly textures, flattering shades, iconic scent, and chic design, but also note reformulations (You and Balm Dotcom), packaging breaks/leaks, limited shade range, and products that feel lightweight to the point of barely there.
AI summary based on Thingtesting reviews
-i bought the pre-reformulation cherry balm and didn’t like it. it wasn’t moisturizing and the cherry medicine smell wasn’t for me. -the you perfume smells awesome but doesn’t last long at all, i’d recommend layering with other you-scented products. -i like the haloscope highlighter quite a bit, it’s been my only highlighter for a while and has lasted me forever, and looks nice on the skin. -boy brow is good, my favorite brow gel, but there isn’t enough product to justify the price. -skywash has beautiful colors and works well, but there isn’t anything special about it besides the colors. the website, packaging, and buying experience are very NYC cool girl, although i’d argue that the brand has fallen off since its heyday.

there are brands that treat their employees better (read @outtathegloss ‘s posts) so you should go with those.
Got their boy brow and generation g lipstick. Loved the brow paint - easy to apply, looks natural. If you’re looking to fill in big patches of brows, this isn’t your product but if you want something to shape and accentuate your brows, it’s great. Lipstick is one of my favs - it just goes on really smoothly and not too thick. I never have to worry about this smudging on my face if I’m drinking coffee or having a sandwich. The only issue I have with the lipstick is that the top/cover stopped “clicking” shut so there was no way to lock this down in my purse - had to keep it at the house so it didn’t inadvertently open in my pockets and make a mess
Honestly I still love glossier. They make solid beauty basics that are easy to use, minimal, and wearable. I like it for every day makeup. My go to items are: skin tint, stretch concealer, boy brow, the cream blush, and the perfume solid.

Their stuff is solid and usable like the reliable white tee shirt and jeans of the makeup world.
I wanted to love it and instead the cleanser bothered my sensitive skin and I don’t get what all the hype is.
The main product of glossier I’ve used is the milky jelly cleanser. It’s very nice but I’m not sure it’s very unqiue — could probably find a drug store dupe easily.
Overall I love Glossier. Products smell good and are very cool It's generally pretty affordable as well. The mascara and concealer both stand out as EXCELLENT products for me. The balm dot com always seems to break me out around my mouth unfortunately, and I've heard this from others as well. I emailed them about something once, don't even remember what about but I thought their customer service was wonderful and personable.

Would love to see a reformulation of the balm dot com or a noncomedogenic version.
Four years ago I bought the skin tint and pot concealer and to this day I have not found a product that I like better! The skin tint provides the most beautiful sheer coverage and it looks like I am not wearing makeup.
I've only tried Glossier products a handful of times through friends or samples. They overall feel decent.

I have tried several of Glossier's products and I haven't been too particularly blown away. I've tried the Milky Jelly cleanser, Balm Dot Calms, highlighter, and the Cloud Paint. The only one I really enjoy is the Milky Jelly Cleanser. I love the way it smells and the way it feels on my face. Your order also comes with a really cute pink bubble zip pouch:)
Some of the products are good, cute packaging and branding, but not everything is as good as it is touted. The cloud paint is a personal favorite.

Some of the formulas for the skin care doesn’t seem as effective as it says.
I’m a hard core boy brow fan!

Didn’t love their perfume offering. Too floral for me.
Tbh, I didn't buy it myself- thank god- but tried my friend's Glossier lip balm that she kept raving about. She seriously worshiped that lip balm. Could not understand why. It smelled painfully bubblegum-y and it was, to my horror, sticky and kind of stringy(?). Like, when I opened my mouth, a few thin strings of Glossier lip balm connected my lips. I shudder to remember it.

Aside from the sticky lip balm, Glossier's die-hard fanbase needs to chill. It is not worth all that hype.
Their skin products make me break out (but there isn't a single product that doesn't, to be honest). I REALLY like their perfume - that's what hooked me, HOWEVER, it makes A LOT of people I wear it around sneeze, which is annoying. It doesn't make me sneeze, but it definitely tickles others' noses

Maybe use less allergens and stop sending so many stickers in packaging!! So wasteful!!

Glossier is a classic. I love it.

Don’t change the foundational product line up and bring back bubble wrap!
I love Glossier’s products! Their whole ethos as a brand—that the best makeup is skincare—really aligns with my values and priorities. Their minimalist approach to makeup got me hooked from day one, and I’ve been excited about almost every new product launch. As I’ve progressed in my skincare journey, I’ve moved away from some of their serums, but their barrier recovery cream blew me away, and I remain a loyal user of their lip balm. The OGs—boy brow, the supers, and Generation G—remain fixtures in my cabinet, even if I look to other brands for more targeted skincare products or makeup items. Everything is so cute, and the in-store experience was such a treat. I love how they approach beauty, and I love their products!

Moving away from the default pink pouch to more sustainable goodies is the only thing I’d change. The signature pink pouch certainly thrilled me when I first shopped at Glossier, but I actually think it’s not a great quality add-on, and it’s environmentally unfriendly. You can opt out of it, but I think retiring the pouch is probably a good move.

First and foremost - I did enjoy using the products but they're very much a skincare-makeup brand, in the sense that the products just make you feel good and don't do a whole lot in terms of the actual functionality of makeup products. Having dry and sensitive skin, the skin tint/concealer/powder/blush/highlighter/lipbalm/lip tint worked very well - I actually think the concealer and blush are the only products that work efficiently, the others have results that can easily be replicated using other brand products. I haven't dabbled too much into their skincare/perfume range but from testing in-store when I visited their NYC boutique, I was disappointed as it felt very overhyped. I think if it were more accessible (e.g. Shipping to other major countries like Australia or UK) then it would make sense for the reputation to be as high as it is, but it's marketed to be so exclusive yet the products are really not that extraordinary.

I would suggest to stop organising promotions and events within USA and start offering shipping overseas, then once the audience limitation is lifted I'm certain that they will be able to gain more capital to continue opening pop-up stores and collaborate with celebrity figures. It's not the worst makeup brand but the products are just not worth the extreme hype. 50/50, being so famous from the Internet - I wouldn't *not* recommend people to try it, it is a good experience after all, however it's not worth like paying a re-shipping/parcel forwarding company for it.

I have been a customer since they launched and bought countless boy brows, serums, lip products, and a big number of their releases so far.

I loved the initial community engagement and the exclusivity of Glossier and with their expansion and move into Sephora soon, the close-knit community is harder for them to maintain.
I love the makeup products from Glossier, in particular the balm.com and boy brow!

The few skincare products I've tried I've been less impressed with than the makeup.
