Gap earns largely positive reviews as a dependable source for basics that fit well and endure, with standouts in denim, cotton tees, kids’ clothing, and cozy hoodies—yet reviews also flag inconsistent quality, generic fits, heavy logo branding, and style that skews safe. Reviews on Gap highlight strong fabrics (100% cotton, durable denim, warm outerwear) and petite-friendly sizing, while calling out pieces that pill (CashSoft), confusing or generous sizing, and designs that can feel uninspired.

I bought some nice quality organic cotton t-shirts for my husband. They washed and wear really well, soft and comfy.

If you get the right product, you'll find it's high quality for a low price. I am a frequent shopper of t shirts and activewear here. I've also purchased a couple pairs of jeans that I was impressed by.
stood the test of time, good products

I always find great denim and sweaters here.
Long time customer of Gap, mostly for the fit. I know that 9 out of 10 times that what I purchased will fit me as I expect it to. The styling has definitely become a bit more casual now but there is still usually a decent range of clothes running from dressy to casual. Chances are I will be able to find something that I like or am looking for to compliment my current wardrobe. The quality of their clothing is decent and they do offer styles and colors that are appealing and flattering to many people. One thing I would like to see in stores is a petite section. I can order that online but would prefer to be able to try items on in the store. I’m sure I’ll remain a customer for life.
I buy almost 75% of my clothes from gap. Their basics are perfect and I can always rely on a great sweater or jacket each fall and winter.

love their logo hoodies, stylish and comfy! I also purchased a pair of cargo shorts from them this past summer and I love them.
I can ALWAYS find something that fits me well when I walk into Gap. They have great basics, and usually pretty good sales. Their activewear has held up really well for me as well! However, I find that product quality is inconsistent; sometimes I have products which last a long time, while others fall apart after only a few washes.

Product quality had declined over the years. Only time to buy anything is on sale and even then questionable to just find another brand for whatever clothing you’re looking for. Weird sizing too.
Do not really shop this brand unless they have sale super pricey

Cute lately but it feels so overpriced. I’m not sure what paying $120 for a dress is actually for - it’s not sustainably made from what I can tell and the fabric isn’t anything special. I bought a few tees for work and the collars were all wonky and wavy after the first wash.
i have been going to GAP since middle school. i love the timeless look and the color pallets are soothing
Gap used to be popular when I was younger they kind of lost touch with the new age style

Good for the price. Doesn’t last long though
For casual, everyday clothing I love Gap. They have cute styles and colors at a great price point. The clothing quality far outweighs the price and so far I have not had problem with anything I have purchased. I especially love their kids clothing. It is practical and well designed. Sometimes it’s hard to find cute boys clothes at a good price but Gap always delivers. They have great sales too!
Gap body makes my absolute favorite PJs. Gap true sleep is the most comfortable & breathable.
I have been a customer for many many years. Started as a kid with the traditional Japanese to later the plane, the cities, and nowadays, no no no clothes for my baby. Gap is a brand that I can always trust with their quality. Also their customer service online and in store is the best.

Gap is usually my go-to for basics. The brand can be a bit expensive, but they have sales pretty frequently which makes it much more affordable. Tends not to carry “trendier” items, but great quality overall, specifically with their jeans.
Their clothing is good quality for the price, I’ve had pieces from them last for years. It’s great for people with a more minimalist style like myself. Also, if you have a membership to Sam’s Club, they sell some clothing from Gap for a discount.

While I do love gap and like their aesthetic, recently I've been finding that their clothes just do not last. Shirts will pill and I've had pjs with stitching come undone. I do really enjoy their denim. Most products however you really need to see in person and look at its composition to predict whether or not it'll last more than a couple seasons. Definitely only buying their items from the end of season sale from now on! Not worth full price imo.
