Fly by Jing delivers bold, versatile Sichuan-inspired condiments that, according to reviews, elevate everything from eggs and noodles to dumplings—Zhong Sauce and the OG Sichuan Chili Crisp draw repeated praise for layered umami, balanced heat, and everyday usability. Reviews also flag notable drawbacks: some find the chili crisp too oily, less crispy or milder than expected, with occasional smoky bitterness and jar leakage—plus comparisons to Lao Gan Ma or Momofuku on flavor and spice—and some mention inconsistent crunch and a need to stir.

I got the zhong sauce less than a week ago and I only have about a tablespoon left. It is SO DELICIOUS. I’m obsessed with it. Gonna have to stock up when they go on sale !

I personally am not the biggest fan of this chili crisp on its own, but love it mixed in with things to adjust the taste for myself.
I’ve tried Fly By Jing chili crisp a few times, and I really like that this product is widely available at our local grocery stores. I do think that the chili crisp is a little pricy compared to options at Asian grocery stores. The flavor is definitely more smoky.

i loved that this was not as spicy. Great addition to my airfryer salmon and grilled chicken. So much flavor it is really worth the 15 dollar price tag.

I love the classic chili crisp from Fly by Jing for everything from scrambled eggs and homemade dishes to takeout, and the extra hot is a delicious conversation starter for dinner parties. Their beautifully packaged products make excellent gifts for the bold hostess or competitive brothers-in-law.
Whether you're a dumpling devotee or just looking for an easy way to spice up your weeknight meals, Fly by Jing is a game-changer. Their Sichuan spices and sauces don't just elevate frozen dumplings; they transform them into an experience, a celebration of fresh flavors and fiery zest. So ditch the boring condiments and grab a jar of Fly by Jing. Your taste buds (and freezer) will thank you.
When I tell you I could drown in the Zhong Sauce I really mean it. This stuff is heaven on earth. I first started eating it with the normal expected foods like dumplings but these days I’ll put it on just about anything. There is a dynamic to this sauce that is unmatched in anything else I’ve ever tried. I keep a few jars in my pantry and have generally purchased from their online store but noticed they are starting to sell in some of my local grocery stores so now I can tell people to go buy a jar without having to give them one of mine!
Fly by Jing is innovative and delicious. I have enjoyed every product I have purchased from the Chili Crips to the seasonings. I cannot recommend enough.
I like adding a little bit of Fly by Jing to sauces and on top of things. It is pretty intense but we like the level of spice

Loveee the Chili Crisp, but it left my mouth a little too numb. The Zhong Sauce leans a little sweeter. Both great on eggs or avocado toast. I’ve since switched to Lao Gan Ma.
spicy but not burn your taste buds off. flavorful and delightful

Way too many particles inside this product that are impossible to chew/swallow. Yes, I am aware that this is what gives the sauce its spiciness but having to constantly spit out "foreign objects" with your dinner is not the best experience. And, may I just mention how obnoxiously expensive this thing is? Thank you for letting me try this for free but I wouldn't have been able to buy this due to it being so unaffordable.

The zhong sauce is one of the best asian condiments I’ve tried in a long time. Just the right level of sweet and spicy.

I love that this is a true Sichuan pepper oil. The nutty toasty notes and the spice are spot on.
Big fan of this sauce. It compliments dumplings perfectly. With that said, it is quite pricey and, in terms of flavour and ingredients, it is comparable to other products on the market that are a little more reasonably priced and/or accessible (this can only be found in special stores at a considerable markup).

I was super hesitant to try this out since I'm a diehard Lao Gan Ma stan, but Fly by Jing Chili Crisp is like a flavor explosion in every jar! This stuff is so good; I put it on everything – my soups, my noodles, even my ice cream (don't knock it until you've tried it). It's the condiment superhero my taste buds didn't know they needed. This chili crisp is so addictive; I'm considering starting a support group. Beware: once you start, you can't stop – it's like the Lay's potato chips of condiments. My kitchen is now officially a "Fly by Jing only" zone. If you haven't tried it, you're missing out on a flavor party that even your taste buds will thank you for attending.
Absolutely love the flavor profile of the Fly By Jing Sichuan Chili Crisp. It's got this perfect balance of heat that doesn't knock you over, and the mix of black beans and Sichuan peppercorns really sets it apart from other chili oils I've tried. Like with most chili oils, I’ve been throwing it on pretty much everything and it's great for jazzing up meals. Bonus points for their packaging and use of natural ingredients as well. Now, a couple of things I think could be better: - Price: It's a tad pricey compared to other chili oils out there. I get it’s unique, but I’m still on the fence if it’s unique enough to justify the higher cost. - The ‘Crunch’ Factor: They talk about crunch, but honestly, the shallot pieces are too small to deliver on that promise. If you're expecting something that adds texture or bite, this might not hit the mark.
I gifted this Sichuan Chili Crisp to my roommate and I've been using it more than her. It's a great stocking stuffer and very hip. I think that Louganma is comparable, but I think this is more aesthetically pleasing from the packaging.
I heard so much about Fly by Jing such as raving reviews and expected a delicious spicy crunch full of flavor but I found it to be way too oily and the chili is too smoky for my liking. I paired it with bell peppers and it really did not taste good, would rather have them plain. I would not recommend if you do not like a greasy dressing.
I use the chili crisp as my new go to condiment. It’s great with takeout, especially with dumplings. Highly recommend.
