I really love this product! I love the fact it that it is a very light product that adds a pop of color to my lips and I really love the fact that it exfoliates my lips! I apply it everyday and it leaves my lips looking and feeling so smooth and hydrated! It is definitely worth the price!
hands down the best lip product! if you want moisture, this is it. i have chronically dry lips and also a nervous habit of biting/peeling so nothing ever makes me feel truly moisturized...until this! this + lip liner is the best lip combo
Experiment has been on my radar for a while, and I'm glad I was able to try it out through the ThingDrop! As we enter the colder months and our heaters are on 24/7, it's nice that I have some products to help combat my dry, cracking lips and my dry skin. Softwear might be one of my favorite lip treatments, it definitely makes a difference when I wake up the next morning. The duo includes the Super Saturated serum which I am loving over my damp/wet face as a first layer. I'm still not sure about the buffer jelly, which is a hybrid gel to oil... it might be my own deprogramming that oil = bad for my skin. My face does feel like it had a big drink of water, so it might just be my own dislike for the oily texture.
In such a saturated industry of skincare products, I'm glad to see Experiment to be priced well and effective.
I have looked at this range for years but only pulled the trigger after seeing it on Thingdrop. First off i have to say the packaging is fantastic.
Buffer Jelly: I had a slugging product from another brand and i absolutely hated it, may as well have been vaseline. So this being a thinner slugging oil interested me. It does take some time to absorb into the skin but at least it does and doesn't just sit on the skin and oil up your pillow case..
Moisturiser: I normally use Dieux Instant Angel, this is similar in some ways as it feels moisturising but is probably a bit lighter and not as silky or rich. I will be using this on more in the day time. I do appreciate the metal tube as well.
Lip Balm: Time will tell. So far feels like a pretty standard hydrating lip balm. Tube seems rather small.
Hydrating Serum: The serum is super tacky which i wasn't expecting. Reminds me abit of the snail mucin products i have tried from other brands before. Have to use for longer to really see if it overtakes my prequel hydrating serum or not.
Overall i think its a nice range, probably more suited to younger skin than mine but i think for the pricepoint its a good option
I've been using Experiment's Super Saturated Barrier Support Serum and it's quickly become a staple. Two pumps are enough for my face and neck, and I like applying it right after a shower. It leaves my skin hydrated without feeling greasy or tight—just a clean, comfortable finish. I don’t feel the need to add extra moisturizer, which is ideal when I’m still warm from a workout. I also tried the Softwear lip treatment. It’s hydrating and does the job, though it’s a bit sticky for my taste. Overall, thoughtful formulas that work well for daily use.
Softwear is my holy grail lip balm. The tube is smaller than most squeezie lip balms, but I would easily pay $30 even for this smaller tube, it is that good. Molecular Mesh is my current favorite heavier face cream, and I don't have any inclination to go looking for another. If you aren't used to using metal squeeze tubes, you will probably want to add the tube squeezie to your cart and watch a tutorial on using them. I recommend against travelling with aluminum tubes. You can decant into a travel container, or keep the original box and put your tube back in there if you have to take it anywhere. Avant Guard is THE face mask. There is no reason to use single-use sheet masks when this is used with a favorite serum. Super Satty, as it is lovingly referred to online, is a great place to start. I love that they offer refills. This was my favorite serum, but I recently learned I am allergic to it, and I am heartbroken.
This is my favorite lip balm right now. One of my favorite things about it is actually that it’s unscented and unflavored. But also it has a really unique feeling texture. It’s hard to describe. It just feels very plush and cushy and not greasy and also not like Vaseline. I reached for it all the time and I’m getting nervous about running out.
Overall, l love Experiment. I love their products, the branding, and their commitment to science and not promoting deceptive consumer marketing terms like "clean" or "free from". The products are fantastic, efficacious, and super affordable. Softwear is a really innovative lip product that feels great on and the results are great. Super Saturated hydrates my very dry skin like nothing else, it's a little tacky to apply but feels great on the skin and doesn't stay feeling tacky once moisturizer is applied. It works well under many different moisturizers, but the combo of SS and Molecular Mesh is particularly nice - feels so hydrating but lightweight. Molecular Mesh is a fabulous moisturizer, really soothing and feels nice and light to apply, dries down pretty quickly and doesn't feel heavy on the skin. I'll continue to purchase and have these as staples in my routine!
As a Girl Who Swipes Up, I have tried every Lip Balm/ Gloss/ Peptide Treatment that exists and I really really really like this one! I like that it is colorless and scentless. It is extremely hydrating without being sticky or too thick. Heavy enough to be a nighttime balm, but I also apply throughout the day. Aka a perfect product! Lips do feel more plumped w less fine lines. She is saving my lips this winter!
I love Experiment! Their skincare products use super innovative formulas, and I love how they include the science behind all of their ingredients that they choose to use. My all time favorite lip balm is their Softwear. It’s both moisturizing and gently exfoliating with a natural, hydrated finish. The perfect every day lip balm. I’ve purchased one tube with my own money, and I’ve also received one for free from the brand.
I really enjoyed these products for restoring my skin barrier after a round of accutane. The software lip balm is my new go to lip product. Im so excited to see they released a tinted set and can't wait to try them out! Packaging is so cute yet minimalistic as well
The avant guard sheet mask is so fun! The ear loops make the mask so comfortable to wear and I love that it's reusable. I've only used it with the Experiment Super Saturated serum so far, which leaves my face so smooth and hydrated, but I'm excited to test out some other serums!
Also, can we talk about how much of a standout the Softwear lip balm is! It's the best texture, thick but not sticky and it feels incredibly effective compared to other popular lip balms on the market!
I was turned onto Experiment years ago back with OG Thingtesting during a ThingDrop when I first grabbed some for my wife. Since then this brand has remained a staple in our medicine cabinets and skincare routines. It is a testament to quality and efficacy as my wife loves to try new brands but usually defaults back to her staples, but these guys have stood the test of time in our household and become part of the staples. The software and the saturated barriers have been used and re-purchased a dozen times and the sheet mask and re-useable sheet mask holder are just brilliant.
If you are on the fence give the brand a try, but from personal experience be prepared to make this a recurring member of your skincare team.
The skincare products are just fine. It’s the lip balm that sends the brand to the stratosphere for me. The texture is ideal, I get all day hydration, there’s no scent. If I was Oprah, it would be in my favorite things box every single year.
My bathroom shelf is for real becoming an Experiment stronghold. I've tried Super Satty, Plasma Wash, and Softwear and have loved ALL of them. I've also tried the reusable mask and unfortunately, that one is not for me, even though I wanted it to be!
I've used Super Satty for maybe two years now and absolutely love that product. It keeps my skin so hydrated and juicy. I recently tried the Plasma Wash cleanser because it felt like my old cleanser kept making my skin super dry and I'm now a convert. I love that way it feels on my skin and I love that it's a glycerin-depositing cleanser. Softwear is also one of my fav lippies. I've noticed with Softwear that when my lips are REALLY dry, I have to reach for something else. But it's a *great* everyday lip treatment.
Next up, I really want to try their Molecular Mesh. I'm sure I will love it just like I love all the rest of their products. Experiment stan for life.
