David earns mixed-to-positive reviews: the bars deliver impressive macros (28–30g protein, gluten-free options) and a soft, non-chalky texture with crisp bits that keeps many shoppers full, but flavors vary by SKU and several note artificial or stevia-like aftertastes. Reviews of David praise standout flavors like Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Double Fudge Brownie, and Blueberry Pie, yet criticize Cake Batter for artificial notes, occasional whey aftertaste or sensitivity, and some find the taste bland or overly sweet.

  • David Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough bar is high in protein, contains collagen and zero sugar due to the use of sucralose. If you’re watching calories, sugar intake but want 28 g of protein, this is for you!

  • I purchased this bar after seeing a lot people saying good things about this protein bar. It’s very tasty and I like that I low calorie for the amount of protein it was. I wish there was more flavors too, I will try the other ones soon. It still taste a bit artificial but not so bad. Has bad additives which are sucralose and Acesulfame K. In total 7 additives.

  • Good taste and even better amount of protein! Being pescatarian and taking road trips / lots of traveling, we don't have he ability to just pull over to a fast food chain and grab something to eat. Love having these protein bars handy because of the 28g of protein! Some flavors are a little heavier than others, like the chocolate chip cookie dough, I can't have every day but it is still one of my favs.e.Love that is is 150 calories and 0 sugar as well! No cardboard taste here.

  • Despite feeling hesitant about the cost, I've now tried two flavors of the David bar and have been pleasantly surprised each time. Somehow they've managed to get the most crazy set of macros in this, and on top of that the flavor is...dare I say...GOOD? Enjoyable? Actually tasty?!! NOT a chore to eat?? The Choco Cookie Dough has flecks of sea salt on it too which make this officially the most luxurious protein bar I've ever tried. Kudos to the creators, I'll probably make this my go-to.

  • These have very quickly become my favorite protein bars! They are high in protein, lower in calories, and taste pretty good! My two favorite flavors are chocolate chip cookie dough and cinnamon roll! One my favorite go-to snacks

  • I tried the cookie dough flavor. Draw in in by their virality, I decided to pick up a 4 pack. I loved them, they had a great texture and flavor. Very little of the "protein bar" flavor (whey?). Really enjoyed them, easily one of the brands I now reach for in the protein bar isle.

  • Picked this up at my local Kroger. Had heard about them but did not feel like i wanted to pull the trigger ordering them online. I got the cookie dough flavour and its OK. Not super sweet (which i dont mind) and not super flavourful. The main thing for me is that it doesnt have a weird aftertaste. I got it so i could have a healthy sweet treat at work. I only ate about a 1/4 as that was enough for me in a sitting. Interested to try the other flavours.

  • Lots of flavours and cute packaging, but not my favourite. The texture is a little weird (thick and chewy/dry) and the 0 sugar is healthy for you, but ruins the flavour sort of…. For the price I think there are better ones on the market.

  • I was able to try these at an event and the few I tried were pretty tasty for protein bars. I don't love the questionable ingredients but I can appreciate the protein content. If you're looking to pack in a ton of protein in a few bites, I definitely see the appeal. I didn't find that they had a powerful aftertaste compared to other bars, but I am sensitive to sugar alcohols so this didn't leave me feeling my best.

  • This is by far my favorite protein bar brand. Now look, it is still a protein bar. It is not a candy bar. It still tastes like a protein bar. But for what it is, and the macros, and how it tastes regardless — it's GREAT. I ordered three full packs right away, and I keep a bar in every bag. I like to order a few boxes at once so I can rotate flavors and not get sick of them.

  • This is peak food science. I’ve been looking for something like this for a while and honestly it tastes just like any other protein bar but with double the benefits in a way

  • I’m a little obsessed with these protein bars! With 28 grams of protein, they pack a serious punch—much more than my current favorite. The texture is soft and not at all waxy. It is full of crispy bits and brownie bites! Yes, bites of brownie in it. And did I mention it has ZERO sugar? There’s a slight hint of stevia, but it’s not off-putting at all. Finding sugar-free and gluten-free options that taste good is nearly impossible, but David has managed to make it delicious. I can’t wait to try the other flavors!

  • Unfortunately, not for me. People really seem to love them, and I understand why when it comes to calories and protein content, but I think the double fudge brownie tasted like nothing, and the same for the salted peanut butter. Maybe I tried the wrong flavors? I personally want my protein bars to taste yummy, too.

  • tasted like a standard protein bar, i wasn’t the biggest fan of the aftertaste personally.

  • I had the fudge brownie bar. If you're reading this review its likely because you're a healthy nut and avoid the extra calories in other "protein bars". As i unwrapped it... it kinda resembled a turd, so visual appearances weren't so great, but the taste was wonderful. Ill continue doing business with David protein products.

  • I love all the David protein bars, especially peanut butter and red velvet. I’m busy working a lot and traveling so I always make sure to have a few with me at all times. Also, no artificial coloring in the product. Love the taste and will be recommending them to all my clients. Best protein bar on the market today. Lucy P.

  • Love these bars! They taste great, have lots of protein, and are not artificial (although the new recipe has the artificial stuff) I still support the high protein of the bars. I mean 30 grams is hard to beat!

  • After seeing this all over Tiktok, I finally found it at Central Market and decided to give it a try. I got the chocolate chip cookie dough flavor and thought it tasted good. I still think there's no way it's all 28g of protein are from complete proteins, it's most likely from collagen which makes this kind of misleading. It's really expensive and I'm not a protein bar person anymore so won't be buying again, but it was fun to try.

  • I tried this new protein bar from the founder of RxBar that launched a couple of months ago. It has 28g of protein, and I was full for hours after eating one, so I can confirm the macros are there. Most of the flavors in the sampler pack were way too sweet for me, but that's true for almost any protein bar, in my case. The brownie and chocolate chip were my favorite flavors. The biggest improvement from any other protein bar I've had is the texture. plus the packaging design is just a fresh breath of air in the protein bar aisle (i know lol but I wouldn't be true to myself if I didn't point that out as a reason for why I'm suddenly into protein bars.... :D). I would buy it again; I would just try to opt for the least sweet flavor.

  • I try out my fair share of protein bars, as I love trying new snacks. I can never turn down something cookie dough flavored so I wanted to give it a try! I also gafe a double fudge brownie one to my father. He has Celiac Disease so I am always happy to find something gluten free for him. Sadly, neither of us liked these bars at all. Not only that but these bars are quite pricy, so I definitely won’t be trying them again.
