David earns mixed-to-positive reviews: the bars deliver impressive macros (28–30g protein, gluten-free options) and a soft, non-chalky texture with crisp bits that keeps many shoppers full, but flavors vary by SKU and several note artificial or stevia-like aftertastes. Reviews of David praise standout flavors like Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough, Double Fudge Brownie, and Blueberry Pie, yet criticize Cake Batter for artificial notes, occasional whey aftertaste or sensitivity, and some find the taste bland or overly sweet.

  • just tried the blueberry pie and will come back and share my review of the other flavors as I try them! (I got the variety pack box from tiktok shop) I initially got it because it was crazy the amount of protein it had - but I realized it was whey protein which I am sensitive to (so unfortunate!) because I actually really liked it! the flavor was pretty good and it has kept me full for a long time, I'm actually surprised it delivered on most of what it said it would. i will just have to space out how much I eat during the week. can't wait to try the chocolatey flavors! the blueberry pie is really great - its not as fruity as one might think but the texture is really fun - I really don't like it when protein bars are a straight up...sticky bar lol - this one had crispy pieces in it. edit: the cake batter one is not my fave... i cannot finish the whole bar. It really is a bit expensive for a protein bar though which is why I bought it with a tiktok shop discount. i love the branding and the packaging. so I get it.

  • Tried the sample pack, and it's definitely a pricey protein bar. However, it tastes a lot better than the usual ones, compared to the Kirkland brand protein bar where you can taste the chalk-like protein, David's is way better. You really get what you pay for. The flavors are ok. The brownie and chocolate chip were the best one, the cake batter tasted too artificial and haven't tried the blueberry.

  • Tried the variety 4-pack. It's an above average protein bar. It seems like every protein bar I've tried has some major flaw in some way: bad taste, weird texture, full of sugar or sodium, etc. David bars still have some of these flaws (especially with flavor and a synthetic aftertaste), but they're not as pronounced as their competitors. Not sure I'll be buying more in the future, since I prefer to get protein through drinks.

  • The birthday cake and blueberry flavor are the best tasting out of the current line up. I like the texture, it's soft but there are little crunchy bits which add texture. I don't have any stomach issues eating these and if you can find a sale on them, they're reasonably priced considering the macros. I've purchased multiple times already.

  • This was so disgusting. I hope this brand doesn't blow up but I'm sure it will with the help of social media. Truly just so, so disgusting. I would rather take a dry spoonful of protein powder.

  • Love the macros, especially the protein. Slick packaging with a solid variety of flavors. Only downside is the price point, so I treat these as more of a literal treat than a daily snack as I do with other protein bars you can buy in bulk.

  • Texture and taste are pretty great for the cals and protein! Favorite flavor was cookie dough, all flavors had a light texture with little pops in them.

  • I was excited to try the sampler, but like most protein bars, I found myself searching for one that doesn’t taste like a protein bar. If taste isn’t a priority, the protein content is solid, macros are good, but overall, it tasted pretty average.

  • Surprisingly great flavor and texture. My favorites are the Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough and the Cake Batter. The texture is soft and moist, very pleasant - no chalkiness or dryness like many other protein bars. You can slightly taste the artificial sweetener but it's not strong at all and doesn't detract from the flavor. The macros are INCREDIBLE. I love that it's gluten free. Highly recommend, this is kind of a life changing product.

  • I love the taste of the double fudge brownie and it’s packed with protein. I was never a fan of protein bars until my Internist recommended David bars. It’s fills me up and after eating one I lose the desire to consume unhealthy sweets. Also, NO ARTIFICIAL SWEETENERS!! I no longer binge on sugar.

  • I am a sucker for good branding (and the Garamond font family) and a brilliant email marketing campaign (s/o Thingtesting for “What is Michelangelo’s David’s body fat percentage?” - instant click for me - the answer is 5-8% for the curious). David delivered on both fronts and, just like the biblical David, packed a punch despite its small size. Bonus points for speedy delivery service. *blueberry pie - I’ve never had a protein bar with this kind of flavor before! Jammy is the right word to describe it. I enjoyed it a lot, although the whey protein taste/texture is there. This doesn’t bother me, but I know it can be iffy for some folks. *double fudge brownie - didn’t get a strong chocolate brownie flavor from this, it’s more along the lines of eating a spoonful of chewy cocoa powder. I would describe it as a light, sweet, and almost fluffy flavor. Not bad! *cake batter - yum! Loved this one, it really does taste like raw cake batter, what could be better? I think the whey protein taste/texture blends perfectly into this bar. *cookie dough - really enjoyed this one! It does taste like cookie dough. Great bar. I would consider these a little pricey for a protein bar, and the flavor is not consistently amazing. They get a little sweaty if not kept at a low temp or in the fridge. These things don’t really bother me because a protein bar is a protein bar, but I appreciate that this one has great branding and solid ingredients.

  • I purchased the sample pack after seeing David advertised on Thingtesting. I have tried 2/4 flavors. Emphasis on "tried," as I haven't made it through an entire serving yet. There is a limit to how much protein you can jam into a protein bar without making it borderline inedible, both taste-wise and texturally. The limit is probably ~20g. This bar has 28g. Nope.

  • Blueberry is my favorite, delicious and healthy. Just ordered 3 boxes to keep in the freezer. I love everything about this protein bar!! I will be a customer for life.

  • I’ve had these bars for 3 days and have tried all 4 flavors and I love them! I keep going back and forth about which flavor I like best and have just decided I like the variety! I’m not getting any younger and as part of my exercise routine I do resistance training every other day, and it’s always on my mind whether I’m getting enough protein. Besides being delicious, David is like having a cheat code for protein intake with only 150 cal for 28 gm of protein and zero sugar. Removing any worry about my protein intake in such a delicious bar without excess calories is a home run for me.

  • My new favorite protein bar, snack, and evening treat. The brownie tastes like a real brownie (I tried heating it in the microwave for 10 seconds- WOW) and the blueberry is my go-to morning/workout snack. The cake batter reminds me of a Rice Krispies, and the chocolate chip cookie dough tastes like real cookie dough. It’s hard to believe they are only 150 calories! Thank you to the creators of this product!

  • The bars arrived in less than 48hrs- so fast! The consistency is perfect and unlike any bar I’ve had which can often feel like it’s not even real food that I’m biting into. There was zero after taste. Some bars leave a metallic taste in my mouth. And I can’t choose a favorite flavor (I’ve tried them all) because they are all SO delicious. And what’s also great is that they are suitable for everyone in our family - all ages. My boys eat them before sports practice, and I eat them whenever because they literally taste like a candy bar (without the guilt)! These will be a staple in my home for a long time.

  • This protein bar is a game changer. Love it, it keeps me full, when I have one for breakfast and in the mid afternoon, is really delicious and I love the nutritional facts! I don’t know how they did it!!

  • honestly pretty good!! sort of exactly what one would expect

  • Want to test David Please

I am trying to increase my protein consumption without a ton of sugar/carbs/calories. 28 grams of protein for 150 calories is my dream! Currently, the best I've seen are Built bars at 150 calories, but only 17 grams of protein, so I end up eating two. Would so much rather get what I need in one 150 calories bar. Would love to be a guinea pig please!

Are the macros the main reason you want to test David? I kinda am curious just because the branding looks cool
