Reviews mention

  • Gentle, dermatologist-backed formulations
  • Fragrance-free, sensitive-skin options
  • Hydrating, ceramide-rich moisturizers
  • Effective, acne-calming cleansers
  • Occasional heavy, comedogenic creams
  • Drying, under-foaming cleansers
  • Irritating, oily-feeling sunscreens
  • Inconsistent texture and finish

CeraVe earns strong reviews as a gentle, dermatologist-recommended line that effectively hydrates, calms acne, and supports sensitive skin—especially through staples like the Hydrating Cleanser, Foaming Facial Cleanser, Moisturizing Cream, AM/PM Facial Moisturizing Lotions, and Healing Ointment. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some moisturizers feel heavy or cause breakouts, certain cleansers can be drying or under-cleanse, SPFs can irritate or feel oily, and concerns arise over non–cruelty-free status and perceived harsh or endocrine-disrupting filters in some sunscreens.

  • I have used their moisturizing cream and eye cream and both have been very gentle on my skin. The consistency is a little thick, so I prefer to use it in the winter.

  • We have used the Cerave ointment for our son since he was an infant and recommend it to new parents all of the time. Great for diaper rash and slugging.

  • I use the CeraVe lotion every night. It keep my skin super smooth and moisturized overnight! The lotion itself is light and absorbs onto the skin quite well and quickly. It doesn't feel oily nor messy. I will say, the facial cleanser is a bit too harsh for my skin.

  • At 44 I still haven't developed a skin care routine, but I do use their under eye cream nightly. It will never be a miracle cream, but I love the consistency and that it is not too thin nor too thick, goes on very smoothly without any oily residue, and does not make my skin break out. Also, I can tell what I do and do not use it as my eyes look a little more tired when I do not in the following days.

  • I have only tried the cleanser so far, but really like it! It foams up very well and feels great on the skin. It leaves a wonderfully fresh feeling without drying out the skin. Bonus points for being fragrance-free and therefore suitable for sensitive skin as well. I look forward to trying more CerVe products in the future!

  • I swear by the hydrating cleanser and moisturizing body lotion.

  • CeraVe has quality products that are highly inoffensive. They are perfect for sensitive skin and help get the job done. Nothing fancy, but exactly what the average person needs. An accessible product for the average consumer with varied, but not high needs regarding skin concerns.

  • Excellent products. Better than some more expensive brands.

  • I’ve always loved CeraVe products - they are super accessible, they come in a variety of sizes, and they work so well. I’ve had challenges with acne my entire life and my dermatologist recommended CeraVe products to me. They have always seemed to help! While I’ve started using other primarily natural products, I still love these products!

  • I use almost everything, it’s skinsafe and dependable brand.

  • I have been using CeraVe Moisturizer and Face Wash as part of my skincare routine for years, and I am absolutely thrilled with the results. Let's start with the CeraVe Moisturizer. This product is a game-changer. Its lightweight, non-greasy formula provides the perfect balance of hydration without clogging pores. It absorbs quickly, leaving my skin feeling soft and supple. What truly sets it apart is its inclusion of ceramides, which work wonders in fortifying the skin's natural barrier. I've noticed a significant improvement in the overall texture of my skin since incorporating this moisturizer into my daily routine. Now, onto the CeraVe Face Wash. This gentle cleanser has become a staple in my skincare regimen. It effectively removes impurities without stripping the skin of its natural moisture. The inclusion of hyaluronic acid ensures that my skin feels refreshed and well-hydrated after each use. It's a perfect balance for those who want a deep clean without the harsh effects that some cleansers can have. One of the standout features of both the moisturizer and face wash is their suitability for sensitive skin. I've struggled to find products that don't cause irritation, and CeraVe has proven to be a soothing and calming solution for my skin. The fragrance-free nature of these products is another big win. It's refreshing to find skincare that doesn't rely on artificial scents, making it ideal for those with sensitivity to fragrances. In terms of value, both the moisturizer and face wash are reasonably priced for the quality they deliver. A little goes a long way, so these products last, making them an economical choice in the long run.

  • I use the facial cleanser and the pm moisturing lotion. The cleanser works well, isn't harsh, is unfragranced and is my daily. I don't love it, but I love the price and it works well enough. Same with the moisturizer, it's decent, doesn't leave my skin tacky and is very affordable.

  • I’ve been using the renewing sa cleanser for years and it hasn’t let me down yet. It’s affordable and doesn’t leave my skin feeling dried out.

  • I tested the moisturizing cream, which I used to put on at night because it's oily, and I like it. My skin is plumper and the product has no smell.

  • There are so many Cerave products that I love! The healing ointment works excellently as the last step in my skincare routine. The SA Cream for Rough & Bumpy Skin does wonders for my KP. The Makeup Removing Cleanser does a fantastic job of dissolving the sunscreen and makeup of the day without leaving an oily film on the face. I can’t recommend this products enough!

  • Big fan of CeraVe over here – I've been using their hydrating facial cleanser for years now, I don't even remember what face wash I was using before them. Love that it's affordable, paraben-free, and great for sensitive skin.

  • The moisturizing cream does wonders for dry skin without being full of fragrance. It leaves my skin feeling better, without leaving a greasy finish. It's a thicker cream that helps with dehydration and it has a long term effect.

  • With sensitive skin and rosacea, it is an affordable brand that provides the basic skin care needs. Trying out multiple face care products, I have not found a product in the same price range that offers more.

  • i love cera be products. almost everything they make, i want to use. i stopped using them bc they test on animals/allow animal testing to be performed on their products. firm pass on any company that puts sales above integrity and compassion and respect for animals. i was using for a long time bc i was under the impression they don't test on animals. unfortunately, i won't use cera ve anymore. they ought to rethink selling to mainland china and getting Peta/ leaping bunny certification. bc they're really great.
