CeraVe earns strong reviews as a gentle, dermatologist-recommended line that effectively hydrates, calms acne, and supports sensitive skin—especially through staples like the Hydrating Cleanser, Foaming Facial Cleanser, Moisturizing Cream, AM/PM Facial Moisturizing Lotions, and Healing Ointment. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some moisturizers feel heavy or cause breakouts, certain cleansers can be drying or under-cleanse, SPFs can irritate or feel oily, and concerns arise over non–cruelty-free status and perceived harsh or endocrine-disrupting filters in some sunscreens.

My son is very fair skinned and going through puberty so the zits have been going away with this stuff. Also my daughter has excima and this is what I used her whole life on that.
Cearve is my go-to skincare brand! With my super sensitive skin, it's the only one that hasn’t made me break out like crazy and actually WORKS. Highly recommend it!
The nicest face creams that leave me feeling light and not gross
I love their products as a sensitive skin person.
face washes are good i use it almost everyday i don break out and i have oil skin so it’s helping.
Great products, the dermatologists recommend it and it will continue to be in my daily routine
Simple and semi medical production. Many doctors, tattoo artist, med spas and dermatologist recommend it, so that can’t be bad.
Love their products. They’re affordable, available and works well with my skin. I love their cleanser and their moisturizer with SPF
The only facial cleanser I will use for my 40 something skin as well as my teenager’s skin.
I've used a variety of CeraVe products for years and years, at the recommendation of my dermatologists. The brand is affordable and easy to find. I thought it was working okay for me so I didn't bother looking for better alternatives. Flash forward to this past year, where I suddenly find myself experiencing the worst acne of my life in my late 20's. I was prescribed Tretinoin, which I used with the Cerave moisturizing cream (sandwich method) and the hydrating cleanser (most mornings) and salicylic cleanser (2-3 times a week as needed). 5 months on tret and I wasn't seeing much progress so I started questioning my routine. On the tretinoin subreddit, I discovered that many CeraVe products trigger acne for *a lot* of people, especially the moisturizing cream. I read suggestions to stop using the cream and I tried it.... about 75% of my acne cleared up within a week after stopping use of the cream. In retrospect, I think the petroleum and cetearyl alcohol ingredients were the culprits. Everyone's skin is sooo different, and I know these products work well and are accessible for a lot of people, but be aware that many of their products contain well-known acne-triggering ingredients for some skin types (like mine - combo, sensitive).
Although Cerave is a good brand. My skin did not like it at all. I loved the cleanser and the thickness of the product but unfortunately not for me.
The hydrating cleanser has completely transformed my skin! So many other cleansers dried out my face, irritated my skin, or didn't cleanse deep enough to where I would regularly get acne every month. Ever since using this, I've only gotten one pimple, and it went away so quickly. I will say cleansing for 60 seconds and really working this into my skin has done extra wonders for my skin and the results are awesome. Highly recommend!
I use many of these products daily and they are staples in my house. I use 2 of the face washes, moisturizing cream and face moisturizer every single day. These products are fairly priced and work great. They make it easy for anyone to purchase being in a wide range of stores and being priced so good. I love this brand!!

The moisturizer is ok, but just ok - its a functional product. Nothing in this product, from the package, to the texture and smell has a single drop of charisma or joy. Just not my thing.

I use their night moisturizer morning and night and it’s perfect for my sensitive and dry skin!
I’ve used their serum and moisturiser. I have to say this brand is very affordable and given it was recommended by dermatologists I thought I might as well. The serum was nice, felt nice on the skin and sank in very well. The moisturiser was a bit heavier and as I have combination skin I didn’t really get on with it. Might be better for drier and sensitive skin. I’d repurchase the serum but don’t think it’s as strong or effective as more potent products out there.
I religiously use the hydrating cleanser and moisturizing cream. They gently cleanse and leave my skin soft and hydrated.
Even though I love a good ~luxury~ skincare/beauty product, CeraVe will always be my go to for cleansing. You don't need to spend a fortune for a good product, and CerVe definitely proves that.
