Reviews mention

  • Gentle, dermatologist-backed formulations
  • Fragrance-free, sensitive-skin options
  • Hydrating, ceramide-rich moisturizers
  • Effective, acne-calming cleansers
  • Occasional heavy, comedogenic creams
  • Drying, under-foaming cleansers
  • Irritating, oily-feeling sunscreens
  • Inconsistent texture and finish

CeraVe earns strong reviews as a gentle, dermatologist-recommended line that effectively hydrates, calms acne, and supports sensitive skin—especially through staples like the Hydrating Cleanser, Foaming Facial Cleanser, Moisturizing Cream, AM/PM Facial Moisturizing Lotions, and Healing Ointment. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some moisturizers feel heavy or cause breakouts, certain cleansers can be drying or under-cleanse, SPFs can irritate or feel oily, and concerns arise over non–cruelty-free status and perceived harsh or endocrine-disrupting filters in some sunscreens.

  • I have not been disappointed in their SPFs, moisturizers, or cleansers. Love that they are accessible and affordable. They have been recommended by any dermatologist I've visited as well. I do find myself reaching for other brands more regularly though.

  • The products tend to be carefully thought through and address skincare concerns without BS. The chemical sunscreen is the only reason I give fewer stars because the filters they use are known to be bad for the body, even if they protect the skin, and I've never been blown away by the result. I've tried multiple from the facial cleanser line, and the moisturising cream.

  • A really great all round skincare range, especially for sensitive skin and for people with other sensory issues i.e. smell, because it is unscented.

  • I swear by CeraVe moisturizers and face wash. It's what my dermatologist has recommended, and it's what has become my tried and true! The products are great for sensitive skin, and while it's not the most luxurious or cutest packaging, it gets the job done!

  • I’ve tried several products from CeraVe and I’ve loved all of them. I use the normal to dry foaming face wash everyday as well as their daily moisturize lotion. I have also tried their eye cream and their sunscreen. I love that is on the affordable size of skincare.

  • It’s really just okay; I don’t know what’s so special about it

  • ✨🧴🧼 CeraVe Hydrating Facial Cleanser 🧼🧴✨ This cleanser has an awful texture my god, it feels like rubbing straight up lotion on my skin. It leaves an artificial film on my face also. ✨🧼🫧 CeraVe Foaming Facial Cleanser 🫧🧼✨ Despite having dry skin I much preferred this cleanser to their others. It has a nice plump, jelly texture and foams only slightly. My face felt clean yet not stripped. ✨❤️‍🩹 CeraVe Healing Ointment ❤️‍🩹✨ It's petroleum jelly formulated to have a thinner lightweight texture, overpriced for what it is. ✨🧴🦵🏾💦 CeraVe Moisturizing Cream 💦🦵🏾🧴✨ I think I would gaslight myself into thinking this cream was more effectual than it actually is. The texture is horrible matte finish, and it just sits on top of my skin without actually moisturizing it.

  • Affordable skincare that works. I know my body can be prone to stretch marks so I've been using their Daily Moisturizing lotion to prevent stretch marks on my tummy in my 3rd trimester and it's been good so far. I like this better than some of the vitamin E oils available out there as the lotion is more versatile and feels less oily after application. This lotion is also great for those with more sensitive noses as it's scent-free.

  • I use multiple Cerave products and they just work. They don't irritate my skin. They don't smell like anything in a good way. They are affordable. They're also easy to find in stores.

  • I ignored that brand for way too long bc it just doesn’t look that appealing. But it is amazingly well formulated. My skin usually reacts but doesn’t. Won’t dry out my sensitive skin. And it’s affordable. True love brand.

  • My tried and true face wash since well... forever! Love this stuff, it truly keeps my acne away and keeps my face looking bright and hydrated. I recommend the light blue bottle if you have oily skin.

  • The Acne Control Foaming Facial Cleanser with 2% Salicylic Acid was recommended to me by my dermatologist years & years ago (lifelong oily-acne-prone skin!) & I haven't switched since!! This facial cleanser does the best job at balancing cleaning and removing oils while also not stripping my face completely dry - i.e. it doesn't leave my skin so dry that it's tight and shiny after I wash! Additionally, I find that it's great at removing both everyday oil buildup and also makeup (mascara doesn't stand a chance). Lastly, this is such a great cleanser for the price - it keeps my acne at bay but doesn't cost & arm and a leg!

  • This is a very affordable brand that is sold at almost all stores. I like that I can find it almost anywhere. My face feels super moisturized after I wash it and moisturize with it. I do it in the morning and night with this brand.

  • I've been using the CeraVe moisturizing cream for over a year now. It is perfect for a gentle cream that is highly moisturizing and does not cause breakouts. It is a great value for the money. You get a lot of product for the price.

  • These are my go to face cleaners and moisturizer. I keep one in every bathroom and they are the best products ever I do not like switching them. My favorite is a gentle skin non-fragrance. I will buy it every single time.

  • Their moisturizer and cleanser are very gentle for sensitive skin.

  • Cerave healing ointment is amazing! The price point is great and it is an effective product. My husband swears by their skincare because it is affordable, easy to find in stores, and effective.

  • CeraVe never misses! It’s my go-to for skincare that is really reliable, affordable, and works every time. Keeps my skin feeling hydrated and smooth and I also love that it’s so gentle on my skin afterwards.

  • I use their moisturizing cream after every shower. It's very thick and seals in moisture, doesn't irritate my skin. Great for the body.

  • This is one of my favorite skincare brands I use it often and it works well and has lasting results I would definitely recommend it
