Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • Protein packed pasta alternative. Good texture and hard to tell the difference between Banza and typical pasta. Kept me full longer

  • It's not a complete dupe for pasta but with the right sauce there is not too much of a difference. It does have its own unique flavor and texture.

  • When looking for a gluten free alternative Banza products are good, but I didn’t love them. The texture was more crumbly than reminiscent of a typical pasta. Although, I would be willing to try it again

  • Banza's range of products is impressively versatile. Whether I'm in the mood for a classic spaghetti dish, craving some comforting mac & cheese, or even fancying a slice of pizza, Banza has an option that fits perfectly. This versatility makes meal planning both exciting and convenient. The standout quality of Banza products is how they've managed to capture the essence of good old tasting pasta. It's hard to believe that these products are made from chickpeas because they have the same satisfying texture and flavor as traditional pasta. This has allowed me to indulge in my favorite dishes guilt-free.

  • I love van a pastas as an alternative to regular dry pasta. It’s great to get in extra protein and nutrition and a perfect gluten free alternative. It’s great in soups and other dishes with a lot of sauce/flavor, but is not as great tasting on its own with pasta sauce

  • I’m always interested in eating less meat but not losing out on protein. Banza makes it easy to do that in a delicious way.

  • I love this brand! I love how many different options there are and how high protein too. I think it tastes pretty similar to regular pasta, especially compared to other brands. I will say although I don’t mind the texture, it is slightly not like pasta in the manner that it isn’t as “sturdy” i rate 10/10

  • Been trying to lose weight and these make me feel better about eating pasta. However, I do not like the linguini or spaghetti. It feels to Al dents even when it’s cooked all the way through. The other types of pasta I have found to be a nice substitute.

  • The texture is slightly odd and the flavor is not profound, but this product is high in protein and I like the concept of a pasta alternative.

  • Red lentil penne makes excellent pasta salad during the summers. Will continue to purchase.

  • There was a time I was trying to eat 100% gluten free for health reasons, and I was most sad about not being able to eat pasta. Enter Banza. They saved me. I had read somewhere that the pasta tastes better when you don't use tomato sauce, and I agree. I like it with veggies and sauces other than tomato, even just some EVOO. Really my only complaint is that the texture is different when it's reheated. Would I choose a bowl of regular wheat pasta over Banza pasta if I wasn't gluten free? 100%. But this is a great alternative if you can't eat wheat.

  • Love this brand of gluten-free pasta, I like that it's made from chickpeas so it has a higher protein content than ones made from corn or rice.

  • As a pasta alternative I really like Banza. I don’t really taste a huge difference between these and other pastas. My husband likes that there is more protein and I like that it doesn’t taste much different

  • Pretty good! But something about the texture wasn’t great for me. Sticking to regular pasta.

  • I love the chickpea pasta! Great alternative when looking for something not flour based

  • I love Banza pasta! Their pasta is the closest to flour pasta that I’ve had.

  • I like that they protein, but they're delicate with the texture.

  • The hubby and I are really sensitive to traditional pasta sold in the US and almost always experience bloating and uncomfortable fullness after eating boxed pasta. We switched to chickpea pasta a few years ago and haven't looked back. Once you get used to the veggie taste of the noodles and adjust the cooking time to your preferred texture, these are the best! I appreciate the different noodle shapes and always keep a few boxes of the rotini in my pantry.
