Reviews mention

  • Protein-rich pasta alternative
  • Surprisingly authentic texture
  • Flavorful frozen pizzas
  • Kid-approved crowdpleasers
  • Inconsistent noodle integrity
  • Sticky, mushy overcooking risk
  • Noticeable chickpea aftertaste
  • Clumpy long-cut spaghetti

Banza earns strong reviews as a high‑protein, gluten‑free swap that often tastes and chews close to traditional pasta and even delivers standout frozen pizzas, while many note it can overcook quickly, turn mushy or sticky, and some cuts feel fragile. Reviews of Banza praise the satisfying, protein‑dense pasta, kid‑friendly appeal, and tasty mac & cheese (notably White Cheddar), but flag inconsistent texture across shapes, occasional bitter/chickpea aftertaste, and spaghetti/linguine that clump or stay too firm.

  • Taste great and is much better than traditional pasta from store brands that we used to purchase. We use this to feed our kids and ourselves. Its a healthy alternative!

  • Love all the Banza pastas. They are delicious and the high protein content keeps me from getting the carbohydrate crash I get after eating traditional pastas.

  • This pasta is overall pretty yummy and I love that it adds extra protein to meals. I honestly do not think it tastes good as a replacement for traditional Italian sauces, however in soups, chili, or with cheese it’s fantastic. The texture is just like that of pasta, so no issues there. The taste is just very slightly beany so when adding to foods, it goes so much better with sauces, soups, and dishes that beans would complement- regardless of if you are actually adding beans to the mix. One of my favorite ways to enjoy this pasta is with a homemade cheddar sauce and broccoli.

  • This is a healthy and tasty alternative for white pasta. It is similar in texture to brown rice flour pasta. Brown rice pasta and Banza chickpea pasta are the only pastas that are good alternatives to white pasta as long as you don't over cook it. It cooks al dente and tastes like white flour pasta. I highly recommend this product over whole wheat pasta.

  • Love this brand. Such cute packaging and love all the pastas and shapes!

  • My partner is a chef and we don’t usually do store bought pasta but when we do this has yucky become my go to brand. It’s great for a quick pasta salad that I can take for lunch without the guilt since the higher protein content will keep me full on my long 13 hour shifts. The chickpea flour makes this pasta a little more hearty to hold up to a dressing in the fridge for a few days without getting overly saturated. It does have a subtlety different flavor profile that I isn’t my favorite for a luxurious pasta dinner but for a quick meal it’s a winner.

  • I love how these stand out on the shelf. I just do wish the texture was better when they are cooked. They always tend to be so mushy and they just don't and never will hit the same as pasta does. Mind you, it's not claiming to be better than normal pasta and when you buy, you know you're not getting regular pasta .... BUT it does make you just rather have purchased the good ol stuff.

  • I keep this pizza in stock in my freezer at all times. It is so delicious and the perfect way to satisfy a pizza craving. The ingredients are great and it's filling and satisfying.

  • I’m OBSESSED with using banza and almost never buy regular pasta anymore. It’s such an easy way to get some extra nutrients in and I can barely tell the difference!

  • I'm trying to eat less unhealthy carbs, so I stumbled upon the chickpea pasta and tried it for my spaghetti. I was shocked how great it tasted as a substitute to grain pasta that I love. I always use this instead now as a healthy alternative.

  • Yes-give me ingredient alternatives to basics that aren’t healthy or we’re all bored of. Yes please more.

  • I was very skeptical of this brand. I was nervous about how it would taste and if I would even like but to my surprise I love it. It’s taste so good. It doesn’t taste grainy like other pasta that are meant to be healthy have. Even my 16 year old brother who hates just about anything love it! I highly highly recommend this brand for everyone especially like me who is on a weight loss journey.

  • Thought it was great, hard to tell the difference versus basic pasta brands!

  • The best pasta-alternative by far! While the taste isn't an exact match to typical wheat flour based pastas, the chickpeas instead give it a different but equally delicious flavor and texture. The bright packaging and variety of shapes and products give a wide range of options to try. Be careful not to overcook them, it can get mushy much quicker than normal pastas.

  • One of the first health food alternatives products that actually tastes good or better depending on how you are feeling. Definitely like how light it is compared to traditional pasta.

  • This stuff just isn’t for me. I love pasta, and I love chickpeas, but Banza’s pasta tastes like weird cardboard. I find the flavor and texture both incredibly off-putting. I’ll be sticking to regular or veggie pasta, thanks.

  • PROS High protein. Easy to cook. Tastes great. Looks like regular noodles and my kids eat them. CONS Can get mushy if cooked too long. Needs to be cooked with plenty of space in the pot — the water “foams” and is likely to spill over if you don’t keep an eye on it.

  • Listen it isn’t pasta but if you’re gluten free like me, you won’t miss it as much. Follow the instructions and you don’t get a mushy mess like other brands. I appreciate consistency

  • I love the chick pea pasta as an alternative when I’m looking to have less carbs and more protein.

  • I am absolutely in love with all things Banza! As an avid pasta lover I of course have to be very mindful of overdoing my carb intake so I have been on the market forever for a healthier option. This has been the best option I have seen not only for nutritional value but also the consistency and texture of the pasta itself! I have this in my pantry at all times! The penne is my personal favorite but I truly love it all.
