Reviews mention

  • Complex bitter-herbal flavor profile
  • Noticeable calming functional effect
  • Versatile cocktail-friendly mixer
  • Elegant ritual-enhancing experience
  • Very short opened shelf life
  • Polarizing medicinal-leaning taste
  • Limited available flavor variety
  • Inconsistent perceived relaxing effects

Aplós earns polarized reviews: many praise its complex, bitter-herbal flavor (Chili Margarita, Ume Spritz, Calme) and consistent calming effect that helps replace evening wine, while others find the taste medicinal or soapy and feel little to no effect. Reviews commend its versatility in cocktails and ritual appeal, but cite short post‑opening shelf life and a desire for more flavors as notable drawbacks.

  • I love Aplós’ ready-to-drink cocktails. The Chili Margarita and Ume Spritz are both genuinely delicious. Having these on hand made it easy to swap out a lot of traditional cocktails this summer without feeling deprived. I also notice the functional ingredients working — there’s a real sense of calm and wellbeing.

  • I only tried one product thus far - their Ume Spritz, which uses their non-alcoholic spirit and combines it with nootropics, and ume to create a spritz. Based off this one product, I wouldn't recommend (but didn't score lower because I haven't tried other products yet). Ultimately, the taste isn't very interesting and this flavor reminds me of cough medicine. That might likely be the ume flavor coming in, but I didn't enjoy drinking this. I'd try another flavor though to see if that trend continues.

  • Aplos is the absolute best of the dozens of alcohol alternatives J have tried. I love the lemony, herby taste with its slight bitterness. I drink it on ice with sparkling mineral water , a squeeze and a slice of lime and a sprig of rosemary or a mint leaf, or add some lavender or hibiscus Kombucha. Good depth and definitely feel the calming effect.

Pricey…..would subscribe if it were a bit cheaper.

  • It’s a horrible product. The taste is not appealing, the effects are close to none. I bought 2 bottles to experiment. I allowed my friends to taste the beverage & none of them expressed any effects as advertised

There’s no reason why fermented tea needs to cost this much.

  • I subscribed to this product for over two years. Then orders started coming late, and most recently not at all. This is not Aplos’ fault, it’s USPS’’ fault, but Aplos has zero customer service. No 800#, just an email. I emailed three times asking for help with the missing order, or asking for my money back. I got no response. I cancelled my subscription. Very nice product but horrible treatment of patrons.

  • The taste profile is so unique and their branding is everything

I wish there were more flavors to choose from!

  • definitely has a unique flavor profile, I've tried it with carbonated drink but it needs a little more to enjoy sipping on. I recommend using their recipe tab on the website, it has helped me create better cocktails vs just carbonated soda.

  • Aplos is one of my favorite non-alcholic beverages. It's really strong and bitter tasting, which I like a lot. I like drinking and serving it stand alone as an alternative to mezcal or whisky over a sphere of ice and rosemary stem. The only con is once you open it you should drink it in the first few days. It has a horrible shelf life and noticeably goes bad after a week.

    Better shelf life.

  • I absolutely love the branding and website, but the product is extremely overpriced and tastes like medicine.

I'd reconsider at half the price and maybe if it was cbd-infused, as opposed to "hemp-infused".

  • In a world of functional NA beverages, Aplós is the rare standout. Arise and Calme are both fantastic surrogates for an evening cocktail, I like to mix them with soda water and lemon or lime. The canned cocktails are great, too. Ume Spritz is by far my favorite and seems to pack the most traditional Aplós flavor. Chili Margarita is alright. The Mandora Negroni didn't do it for me, but to each their own. I will see I don't feel any "buzz" when drinking these-- I just like them as an alternative to a alcoholic drink I probably don't need right before bed.

  • i'm always looking for ways to mimic the feeling of a cocktail, but i'm drinking less alcohol these days, and aplós really meets the moment. i got to try it when they first launched and i can't wait to try it again and give it a permanent home on my bar cart as the weather's getting warmer.

it's a gorgeous light taste that pairs well with bubbly water and fruit, or whatever other concoctions you desire.

  • I am obsessed! Definitely felt the calming effects. Love the ingredients! I love the website which offers recipes (alcoholic and non), and the look of the liquid is cool! It's a bit cloudy which I think is fun!

Accessibility and price point could be better, but it's worth it.

  • I purchased Aplos as an alcohol alternative and was unimpressed. -Flavor was ok but did not feel affects -Was expensive for what it was -Tried a few times but didn’t end up finishing

  • I've been trying to drink less because it's just not making me feel that great anymore. Aplos has been amazing. I've tried lots of the non-alc spirits and they are all trying to be something else. I love that Aplos has its own flavor - medicinal, floral and delicious.

  • Decent lighter side NA aperitif. Not the best but not the worst. Best with sparkling water and a twist.

  • I really wanted to love this product! I love the company, its team, and its mission, but the product just wasn't for me. I tested the original drink and was excited to try something that gave you the sensory experience of drinking while remaining NA. However, the flavor profile hit me way wrong. It tasted soapy, and I couldn't mix it with anything that got rid of the flavor (and the flavor of this drink is somewhat the whole point of buying it!). I'm open to trying more of their drinks as they come out, but I've stayed away since the first one was such a bomb for me.

  • I appreciate the great flavor, convenience, & low sugar, healthy ingredients of Aplos' two canned drinks! Aplos canned drinks are expensive but very tasty! My fav is Aplos Ume Spritzer for an after work relaxing drink that tastes like a cocktail without the harmful effects. I enjoy the flavor of the Aplos Chili Margarita very much but feel little effect/no buzz. Just by avoiding my previous 2 to 5 glasses of wine or mixed drink per week - I've lost 8 pounds in two months.

  • During dry January, my husband and I tried MANY different alcohol alternatives. We landed on Aplos Calme Tonic as our daily "go to" evening cocktail. Our favorite cocktail is to mix it with diet tonic water over ice. In our cocktails we us 1.5 oz per drink, two drinks each per day. So price is very similar to, or less than what we were paying for our daily wine consumption. Aside from a special event or dinner out, we have nearly eliminated alcohol from our diets. We've even lost weight and feel great!

I wish this product was more available in stores.

  • Honestly the best non-alcoholic spirit out there and I’ve tested them all!

  • I wanted to test this product out as a non-alcohol drinker. The idea is great - there aren't too many mocktails marketed out there besides a lemonade or a soda that you can find at your local restaurant or house gathering. However, I can't say I felt "calm" after drinking this. I mixed it with a low sugar carbonated water on the rocks to give it a cocktail effect in a fancy glass. The drink is herby for sure, however, I can't say it was better or worse than just having the carbonated water alone.
