Amika earns largely positive reviews for effective, great-smelling hair care—especially Perk Up dry shampoo, Soulfood Nourishing Mask, and The Kure repair line—suggesting the brand works for many hair types. Reviews also flag real drawbacks: heavy, lingering fragrance, occasional residue or heaviness on fine hair, mixed results across lines, and reports of scalp irritation or hair loss for some, plus durability issues with a hot tool.

I like some of their products a lot, like their hair masks and leave-in conditioning spray.

I’d love to see a shift towards more clean ingredients in their products.
I used Amikas hair mask and I thought it was ok. It left my hair feeling a little weighed down. Maybe it was just my hair, as it is very fine and thin. I followed directions as labeled. The smell was nice! I wanted to like it but my hair is too fine for regular use.
I really love this brand! As a curly haired girl I can be very loyal to products but I ran out of my normal leave in conditioner and tried theirs, and immediately had to start trying all their products. I love their curl line, and their shine mask, it's all relatively affordable and super effective.

I wish some of the packaging was a teensy bit less young looking? It's the kind of product you don't want to leave out unless its just one bottle because its loud and kind of looks like clutter if you have a few products!
This review is for The Wizard, heat protectant and detangler. This stuff is the SH*T!!! I have long and thick hair that gets tangled in a way that makes a hairbrush shudder. The detangling power is incredible and it’s hard to measure the effects of the heat protectant but I definitely feel like it helps hold heat styled hair. The scent is so yummy (my boyfriend can attest as I catch him smelling my hair frequently) and I love the trigger spray packaging.

It seems to be a little expensive for the size but I also love the product so I can put up with that.
Big fan of their Un.Done Texture Spray and prefer it to other brands. It's almost like a stickier dry shampoo and it does wonders with a slightly wavy style. I generally love it on hair that's not freshly washed as it can really extend a style.
I haven't tried a product from amika that I didn't like. The dream routine hydration cream is amazing I use it daily. I also love the mirrorball shampoo and conditioner, the wizard detangler spray, and the dry shampoos. My hair looks great and feels healthy, and every product smells amazing!
Amika is affordable and get the job done for my hair. I have the anti brassy shampoo and conditioner that smells so good, it does lighten my hair. I am a color treated blondie with natural dark hair so fighting brassiness is inevitable. This does help a bit when my hair is dull and needs a boost of blonde
Really loved their color preserving pre shampoo mask but they discontinued it! It really kept my hair looking like I just got it highlighted!

Loveee the dry shampoo! All my Amika products smell amazing and come in great packaging. I tried the shampoo for a couple washes and found it just dried my hair out but I applied the nourishing hair mask while hair was still wet and it made a huge difference.
After using a different brand + color treatments, my hair was rough. The norm core shampoo brought my hair back to life! I also loved the purple line for my highlights! Smells so so good too!
I got the new hydro mask, I use it to hydrate my brittle dry hair from bleaching it leaves my hair soft and shiny! I can’t wait to try the mirror ball products they are on my list! I have to get one product at a time due to it being more on the pricy side.

Great hair care. I’ve used their deep conditioner and it smells good and works great.
The dry shampoo is okay - my hair definitely felt cleaner but it left a white residue in my hair that was hard to rub in

I use Amika's "The Kure" shampoo and conditioner. As for the packaging, it's super slim and looks great in my shower. The scent is nice but not too overpowering. I'm still unsure on how great the performance of this shampoo/conditioner is. I have noticed my hair gets greasy slower (I have fine hair), which is a plus. The "The Kure" line claims to have bond-repairing properties, which I haven't noticed a big difference in. Overall, it smells great, and works just fine! Not too sure if it's worth the price tag (~$30 each) as I'm not blown away by the results.
I love amika! I’ve used so many of their hair products and live the way they smell and work on my hair! I also have their heated round brush that I use to fry my hair every time I shower that gives me the perfect blowout!

I've used the dry shampoo, and while it smelled really good- it left a dusty coat on my hair and didn't last long.

amazing amazing amazing. love all of there products
I tried their dry shampoo, loved it! The formula was not too drying to didn’t feel like it left a sort of residue like other dry shampoos. It left a small white cast (if sprayed too closely) but was easily removed by just rubbing the area a little bit.

My hair has been much healthier since using Amika. I’ve tried the Kure Bond shampoo and conditioner, Velveteen Dream conditioner, Soul Food Nourishing Mask, and Dream Routine Overnight Hydrating Treatment - they’re ALL awesome!! I love all the products so far and love how they’ve improved my hair. For perspective I have box died blue-black hair that’s curly and down to mid-back. I also love that they have refill packs on Sephora’s website so you only have to purchase the plastic bottle once.

Bigger package options. The bottles are so slim and I don’t love the package type. Sometimes it’s difficult to squeeze the conditioner out specifically. I hope they come out with a pump or bigger package size.
