Tony's Chocolonely

Tony’s Chocolonely earns strong reviews for rich, creamy chocolate, inventive flavors like Milk Caramel Sea Salt, Dark Almond Sea Salt, and Dark Milk Pretzel Toffee, plus mission-driven, fair-trade sourcing. Reviews also flag drawbacks: some bars taste overly sweet or bland to dark‑chocolate loyalists, the thick, uneven pieces are hard to break and share, and concerns appear about heavy metals in certain dark varieties and salt intensity in caramel bars.

Love the mini ones!
I love their mission, love their packaging but the chocolate hazelnut flavour I tried wasn't my favourite. Maybe I just picked the wrong one, I'm keen to try others!
This is a great chocolate brand with lots of delicious flavors. I’m partial to any flavor with a lot of mix-ins like pretzels or nougat. The mini bar sets make a great gift or stocking stuffer. Apart from the transparency behind the cocoa source, Tony’s chocolonely bars also have a fun, whimsical shape to them. I also found these bars to be a lot heftier than the average bar at Whole Foods.

This chocolate is so yummy! I love the packaging and there are so many delicious flavors to choose from! My favorite is caramel. It’s so luscious and creamy.
I didn't like the taste.
Really yummy! Would recommend to anyone.
I might be in the minority but I did not enjoy this experience. I know this chocolate is sold everywhere and ratings are good so I anticipated more than I got. Definitely a rich tasty chocolate however I felt awful after eating. Given I don't typically eat dairy and try to keep processed sugar to a minimum, this chocolate bar is not one that vegans or plant-based people can cheat with. It's definitely very heavy and it requires work to digest.
I bought the Great Big Chocolate Eggs from Thrive Market. It has a variety of flavors: Milk Chocolate, Dark Chocolate, Caramel Sea Salt, Hazelnut, and Almond Sea Salt. I love the mission behind the brand, and they are absolutely delicious! It was perfectly sweet for my taste and it hit the right spot whenever I craved something sweet to eat. This was the first time I tried out this brand, and the chocolate eggs actually were great previews on how I think the classic chocolate bars would taste like! I am definitely going to repurchase!
It's definitely a treat and not your everyday chocolate fix. However, I personally am happy to pay a little premium to support their mission. I have yet to try all flavours but the ones I have tried were very tasty, with a smooth texture and fun flavours (e.g. the collab with Ben & Jerry's). No relation to the taste whatsoever, but I am also a big fan of the design. Even if it means having to bring out a knife to cut off a bite-sized piece but that's become part of the experience for me now.
the one with sea salt was really delicious and flavorful, nice for a quick sugar fix, but expensive for its size. i'm obsessed with the packaging
Love all of their flavors and what they stand for. Delicious chocolate that stays true to its mission. The caramel is insane and I recently had an everything type bar that was out of this world.
I tried the milk chocolate variety. I was surprised to see the bar had breaking lines in a variety of shapes rather than typical rectangles. That part made it a little tricky to keep clean. The chocolate itself melts in your mouth & is so tasty though!
Tony's Chocolonely chocolate bars are insanely delicious! I'm obsessed with the dark chocolate and that deep, satisfying cocoa flavor! Plus, their mission to eradicate slavery in the chocolate industry is super important and makes you feel good about indulging. Definitely a chocolate bar worth supporting!
I happened upon a caramel sea salt bar at Walmart and it is an absolutely amazing chocolate experience..

really wish they had more dark chocolate flavors but the almond salt one is great - love their mission

Tasty chocolate with a great mission.
I don't know what they put in this chocolate but it is the most amazing and addictive candy I have ever tasted. The chocolate itself is creamy and almost buttery in texture. The variety of flavors is what really gets me. My favorite has to be the caramel sea salt milk chocolate. Now, this isn't your typical caramel filled chocolate bar. It's got these flakes of caramel that almost give off a toffee sort of vibe. If I could only eat one candy for the rest of my life- that would be it. Also the brand has a great mission statement and i would recommend checking out their website!

Tasty!
I will always recommend Tony’s Chocolonely! It’s the best chocolate with the best brand mission. The eco friendly packaging is colourful and eye catching and the chocolate is smooth and decadent.

I encountered it recently at the store and gave it a try. Don't really care for the packaging but it stands out, right? They tasted fine.ok.meh, kind of blocky/hard texture. It was fine. Buy this if you care about 'sustainability', however, since cacao is already a commodity that is highly regulated, and has transparent/sustainable value chains already, you can probably eat whatever chocolate brand you prefer. -> Frankly, I prefer a good old Cadbury fruit n' nut, or even the classic square from Germany (Ritter Sport). Also, if I am paying x dollars for a 'fancy chocolate', then I will buy my hyper-artisanal, single-origin chocolate from S0m@ instead. The taste of Tony Chocolonely did nothing for me, really.
