Reviews mention

  • Flattering silhouettes and dresses
  • Stylish, feminine designs
  • Innovative digital fitting rooms
  • Well-regarded, soft denim
  • Inconsistent sizing across styles
  • Thin, unlined dress fabrics
  • Shrinking and pilling issues
  • Fit favors tall, slim bodies

The Reformation wins praise in reviews for flattering, event-ready dresses, chic silhouettes, and a standout tech-enabled in‑store fitting experience, yet the brand draws sustained criticism for inconsistent sizing, thin or unlined fabrics, and quality that often fails to match its reputation. Reviews describe great jeans and timeless styles alongside complaints of shrinking, pilling, and poor construction, plus fit skewed toward tall/slim bodies and frequent frustrations with returns and customer service—making it a try‑in‑person, piece‑by‑piece proposition.

  • Designs are cute and in-store experience with the try-on closet is so fun! Sizing can be erratic.

    Feedback

The price is unreasonable for the materials that they are using in the garments. Some of the dresses are better than others, ESPECIALLY in terms of construction. Most dresses are averaging at the high 100s but they are rarely lined on the inside and have poor seam finishes. Sometimes shipping can be slow when ordering online and I'd rather go into the store to try it on just to be sure.

  • Girlfriend shops here, and I have been a couple times to the store. It is very expensive, and the shopping experience sucks (the screen + dressing room shopping routine is dressed up as a more tech forward way to do things, but it just allows them to skimp on labor - it is a worse experience in every way) Despite all of this, my girlfriend keeps coming back! Reformation simply has really nice clothes that are flattering and high quality. They get a three-star review because none of the products or experience are resilient to a good dupe, but nonetheless they produce quality clothes.

  • Prices are steep, but the clothes are beautiful! I’ve been shopping at Ref for years and I still have items that look great and new. Most of the clothes are relatively classic pieces that can last for years, but recently more items look similar to fast fashion pieces.

  • Eh. I've found some winners here for "events", but I'm overall put off by the "effortless, cool girl" branding + the lack of inclusivity. Really hard to find things that actually fit. And very $$$ for what you're getting (thin fabrics). Sustainability is great, but I don't usually FEEL great after trying on a batch of clothes at Reformation.

    Feedback

An obvious lack of inclusivity. Return policy could use some work.

  • I wait for sales but have loved all the dresses and clothes I've gotten from Reformation. I feel like they helped to make sustainable fashion a thing, so maybe I feel some loyalty here. And their silhouettes are always pretty on point. Some of the materials don't feel luxurious to the touch, kinda hit or miss.

  • do i love their products? yes. are they worth the money in terms of quality? no. will i continue to shop there and spend too much money? absolutely.

    Feedback

honestly, waiting for a sale or buying second hand is more fair for the price here. also, def recommend trying on in store because sizing can be inconsistent.

  • I’ve enjoyed pieces I’ve bought, but not in the context of what I paid. Most haven’t stood the test of time aesthetically or material-wise.They also put out cute design, but tend not to extend those new pieces to their full size range. It’s really frustrating how often they email abut new stuff, like weekly or certainly monthly. Most of the time, they’ve only added something new above a size 16 every six months.

    Feedback

Just say you make cute clothes for small bodies and go. There’s no reason for the lip service.

  • designs are so beautiful and fit in such flattering ways. clothes are low quality materials and suspect of greenwashing. very expensive for such cheap materials

    Feedback

higher quality materials like linens and cottons instead of polyester. lower the price

  • The thought of buying a Reformation dress was so exciting! I was hoping to find a dress to wear to a friend's wedding. I figured the cost would be worth the experience but that was not the case.

    Feedback

While their physical store in San Francisco is giving luxury - the clothing within is NOT. I'm all about sustainability but these dresses felt similar to Forever21 quality. That and the sizing was way off. I typically wear a size 6 or 8 in dressed and was SHOCKED to find I fit in a 0 at this location. I was so glad I hadn't purchased my regular size online. For the price, I ended up buying the same dress secondhand for a fraction of the price. Not that's sustainability!

  • I definitely get the most compliments when I wear a reformation dress compared to another brand. They are high quality and fit extremely well.

    Feedback

More affordable pieces would be great.

  • I love the style and prints of Reformation dresses and own three dresses and two shirts from the brand. However, it's getting really difficult to justify their prices (which keep increasing) when their quality keeps decreasing. Also, the in-store experience is incredibly unpleasant (I've been to over 4 different locations in different cities in the US). All this being said, I still have my sights set on some of their pieces and will likely purchase again in the future. They have some very flattering styles.

  • I think this brand has fantastic marketing, but the clothing is no better than others on the market. I will only purchase this brand second hand moving forward.

    Feedback

    The cost is too expensive.

  • I love reformation. I appreciate that they are continuing to improve their sustainability efforts. The clothes quality is also great. Yes you can find similar items at a lower price point but I find it important to support ethical work practices and companies that care about their environmental impact. I love that the brand offers timeless pieces because you don’t feel as bad about the price when you know you can wear it forever. Also - the in store experience is always the best. They have the most modern and techy dressing rooms I’ve ever used.

  • I've shopped a lot of Reformation products over the years and was always excited about their mission, especially when they started out. With that said, they've started to rest on their laurels. Find the clothing to be overpriced considering the level of quality. Think the materials and fit have gone down significantly.

    Feedback

Improve fit / quality or reduce price point.

  • I never fail to find a dress that I love from Reformation and really love the in-store experience. It feels modern and thoughtful, having shoppers choose their favorite pieces on massive screens in the showroom then seamlessly shift to a dressing room where your clothes are already waiting for you.

    Feedback

Relatively high prices (typically, in the $280+ range) and really tough to wash! I've only found a few gems that are machine washable, otherwise require green dry cleaning.

  • My absolute favorite store! I love the clothes and think the way they are cut is unparalleled. The same dress can go from a day of errands to a wedding. I've gotten all my friends hooked on Reformation in the last year.

    Feedback

There's some inconsistency in sizing between different styles, which can make it hard to shop online. I like to buy during the sale period, where returns are prohibited.

  • Reformation is the best. The products are the cutest and super high quality. My only wish is that the clothes were more affordable, but I wish I could buy everything.

    Feedback

Would love more frequent sales and a greater range in prices! Would also love easier return processes.

  • I wore a Reformation dress to a wedding and got engaged at the end! So it worked for me? ;) In all seriousness, though, the dress looked amazing and I'd buy another one in a second.

  • Design is amazing and irl experience very tech enhanced.

    Feedback

Pricepoint is on the expensive side, but I guess that's the price to pay for sustainability?

  • I loved Reformation about 5-6 years ago when the stores had a mix of Reformation product and vintage. Some of my favorite sundresses are the first dresses I purchased from Reformation about 6 years ago. Reformation is a reliable place to always fine on trend dresses and tops, but I think the quality has decreased since they launched. I wish they could maintain the quality while scaling the brand. Reformation has a great store shopping experience! However, I wouldn't consider Reformation "sustainable," making new product is never really sustainable. The more sustainable option is to shop used/vintage :)

Improve quality and use thicker fabrics similar to the product a few years ago.
