Starface reviews and discussion

Reviews mention

  • Playful, confidence-boosting branding
  • Clever, mirrored refillable compact
  • Cute, expressive patch designs
  • Gentle, non-irritating hydrocolloid
  • Inconsistent, weak patch adhesion
  • Limited extraction effectiveness
  • Small, one-size star patches
  • Awkward, curling star points

Starface wins praise in reviews for playful branding, a handy refillable compact, and making acne feel celebratory, yet its classic Hydro-Stars often underperform versus competitors at extracting “gunk,” reducing inflammation, or staying put—especially overnight. While some users see quick results (notably with Micro-Cloud or blue salicylic acid stars), many cite weak adhesion, small one-size patches, and limited efficacy on early or cystic blemishes, making the brand better for pick-prevention and daytime cover than potent treatment.

  • My kids are addicted to these little star pimple patches they wear them everywhere even school it’s like a trend among these young kids! And they really work

  • Cute but didn’t work as well as other patches on smaller acne.

  • Starface pimple patches work decently well but there are definitely competitor brands that have more effective pimple patches. The design is cute and they do help get rid of acne to an extent, but they are definitely cuter than they are effective.

  • The most fun little pimple patches you can find! They work well, though one corner always gets messed up when I remove them from the plastic backing.

  • These pimple patches are a super cute and fun way to cover up pimples, but they don’t do much in terms of active skincare ingredients or actually treating the pimples. That being said, I do still use them regularly, just more for cover up (& whimsy) than treatment.

  • obviously these are super cute! these were great pimple patches and the case ensures i can travel with them with out them getting ruined

so cute, love these and will continue to repurchase

  • I continue to buy Starface for the branding even though they are not my favorite pimple patches. I think this speaks to the strength of the brand and brand image, despite the product.

Expensive and not the best pimple patches out there, thought very cute.

  • Does the trick! Especially love the collabs and the packaging. We reuse the compact mirror case that our stickers come in and it’s the best. We purchased the Patrick and SpongeBob series and kept repurchasing the refills. It’s great for traveling when we need a sticker on the go. The material is not as thick but it does the job with keeping bacteria and pus within the sticker. Absolutely will repurchase again and give as gifts. The hello kitty release was also very cute. Also on board with the sustainability practices within this brand.

  • The stickers and box are cute, but its biggest pro is that it kept me from picking at my face. Otherwise, I didn't notice much of a difference and I still had a major blemish for a week. These are great if you don't want a medicated option.

    Feedback

I think the price should come down considering that they don't have any medicinal aspects and are basically face bandages.

  • I think Starface is a great brand, from a mission and marketing perspective, but I think other pimple patches are easier to use. The stars are difficult to peel, and I don't feel like they are as effective as other pimple patches.

Like the brand, feel like there are better options!

  • I wanted these to be amazing so badly. The packaging is genuinely wonderful. Heavy-weight, quality, and super cute. I've bought these for presents for people just because of the packaging. The product itself... I can't vouch for its effectiveness. If you're midway through the life-span of a horrible spot, it's worth a shot to see whether it makes a difference overnight. I find the worse the spot, the better the results. It's not great at clearing them up at their early stages.

Keep your eyes peeled for limited edition designs too, which are all v cute. I regret missing out on the Sesame Street ones!

  • I bought these so my sim and I can try and the pimple patches work great. I wish they could be a little bigger and a little cheaper . Also got the nose pore strips and they work great but the price is a little more than other brands

  • Starface is it!!!! I think I saw an add with Amindi and decided to give it a try! I wore the patches while getting coffee and was commended for my bravery and style. Skin care is cool with Starface, Let's goooo!!!

  • Super innovative product with cute branding. It not only covers up blemishes and pimples better than any concealer can, but it also makes them look super cute. It’s almost like you want more pimples to put more stickers on your face LOL. I subtracted one star because it does not work as effectively at treating acne and breakouts as competitors like the Mighty Patch do. It’s worth mentioning that the blue stars (the salicylic acid ones) are better than the yellow ones at treating more serious breakouts.

    Feedback

Pros: - Cute aesthetic - Innovative product - Nice branding - Useful travel case - Has a variety of color options and designs Cons: - Not as effective at treating acne as competitor brands

  • Love the blue Sal-acid stars. When I feel a blemish coming on, it can nip it in the bud right away. The carrying cases are great to keep them handy and have a little mirror on the go. Love that Starface has normalized taking care of your skin and wearing patches in public in a fun way.

  • The star patches are so cute! I have not seen great results with the regular ones, but the blue stars with salicylic acid work well. Also, I love using the case to store them.

  • Relative to other pimple patches I have used, these did absolutely nothing. They’re really cute but that’s about it.

  • They didn't work at all with my pimples.

The improvement should be that they do what they promise they do

  • Helps with white heads only, good for people who want stars on their face
