Starface wins praise in reviews for playful branding, a handy refillable compact, and making acne feel celebratory, yet its classic Hydro-Stars often underperform versus competitors at extracting “gunk,” reducing inflammation, or staying put—especially overnight. While some users see quick results (notably with Micro-Cloud or blue salicylic acid stars), many cite weak adhesion, small one-size patches, and limited efficacy on early or cystic blemishes, making the brand better for pick-prevention and daytime cover than potent treatment.
AI summary based on Thingtesting reviews
The branding is so cute, but personally the products do not do it for me! The stickers don't really stay on my face, and I don't actually think they worked for me at all. Perfect for someone who wants random star stickers on their face, but for someone needing a pimple to go away asap? Probably use a different brand.
Feedback
The efficacy of the product-- I don't personally feel like they work. I know the star shape is critical to the brand but I feel like it doesn't adhere to the skin/pimples properly.

I love the original yellow star face patches! They make having a breakout something fun instead of something scary. Great staying power, and the portable case with the built in mirror is great for on the go / a sneaky touch up after workout classes, etc.

I find the blue salicylic acid patches don't stick / stay as well as the original yellow patches.
It does not stick to your face and slips easily. More form that function. Many other brands make better patches that help with acne.
I love the brands aesthetics and packaging. It's what drew me to it originally and its so adorable. I love that they offer different sizes and limited edition shapes. I also like that the package is refillable so you can keep your patches on you wherever you go safely.

The cost of the refills versus the amount you get isn't great when you compare what's similarly on the market. There are patches that are half the price that I would argue work better. The main difference is Starface has a more aesthetic way of allowing you to carry those patches but it doesn't feel particularly eco friendly.
I coveted these for like a year before I finally bought them because they popped up at Target. But… I was disappointed. I loved the little star shape, but I couldn’t really see any impact. Other pimple patches have more features that make them really suction everything out, but these felt more like a cute, aesthetic cover than a real healing tool.

I’d be curious to see a more intense version of these.
These are just a delight and fun to use. Have given several as gifts and I appreciate the sustainability effort where you only need to get the little plastic container once (which is surprisingly sturdy) and then the refills come in sleeves.
Got both their star patches and their face wash. It is very hard to beat their amazing price point, cute packaging, clean ingredients mixed with quality products. I like their face-wash as a good daily cleanser for acne prone skin that isn't too harsh or drying. I will definitely be repurchasing! Also, I get complimented every single time I wear a star patch bc people find them so so cute... which one can argue does kinda help cure acne? because your stress surrounding the acne significantly decreases? All jokes aside I find the patches to work in a way that is unlike most spot products. Instead of drying out the pimple with salicylic acid, clay or other acids it is essentially acting like a bandaid so it sort of heals it and helps protect it from any bacteria your face would come into contact with and therefore making the pimple worse... if that makes sense. All in all love and the packaging for the star patches is insanely cute :)
they are cute but do not work. not sticky enough and do not do anything
I love my star face patches! They are so cute and fun that I don’t even mind wearing them out and about or sometimes even to work. I love that they are treating my pimple, and after a day of wear the redness and inflamation is reduced, and sometimes the pimple is completely gone!
Best pimple patches on the market! These are the only ones that don’t give me hyperpigmentation.
Did not love these. Did not stick very well and did not notice a different after multiple uses. Looks cute though.

i love my starface patches! they work so well for my problematic skin and look super cute. only con is they don’t stick as well as i’d like
My son and I both use Starface. I love the little blue ones with salicylic acid and we both use the regular yellow ones and the rainbow ones when they are available. They work and during the healing time you can wear adorable stickers on your face that also block dirt. What’s not to love? I’ve found that they cut healing time down by 1-4 days depending on the severity. A small pimple may even be gone the next day. My son has used all of their original line and enjoyed all of it. It is very effective at calming breakouts and helping them heal. I can’t wait to try some of the newer ones. Also…those little hard cases to store them in? Totally get one. They are ridiculously cute, very secure, and keep your patches safe from harm until ready to use.
Super cute packaging. Innovative product in general love it and it seems to actually be effective too
Starface patches are great, for the price I don't feel that you get a large enough quantity.
The stars are so so cute and I love using them to help guide me in makeup with star shapes. That being said, don't really feel like these actually help clear up my pimples at all. Mighty Patch and Hero have worked infinitely better for me!
Love these as they are pimple patches. Though, it is on the pricier side but it does its job like any other pimple patches.
It's a really cute package and its useful with the little mirror and tiny sheets, as opposed to the larger sheets in simple boxes with similar products. But i found the stars didn't stay on my face or adhere as well as other (more boring) brands. and for something like this i'd prefer function over form.
These patches work absolutely fine for what they are and are absolutely adorable. Over the pandemic, I got accustomed to wearing hydrocolloid patches under my mask while attending classes. I picked up some Starface patches a few weeks ago and continue to wear them on runs or going to work. They are a but expensive for hydrocolloid patches- and there are absolutely cheaper options- but I enjoy wearing these out more.
I’ve been using hydrocolloid patches for years and was excited to try these out since they are cute and come with the cute little case. A+ for packaging and quality, however the patches didn’t work for me AT ALL! I tried everything including poking the surface with a sterile needle but I would wake up and the patch would be empty… so bizarre … the concept is cute but cosrx and hero patches are much more reliable
