  • Sleek, minimalist design
  • Compact, travel-friendly form
  • Timed, guided brushing pulses
  • Convenient refill subscription
  • Weak cleaning vibration
  • Fragile head connection
  • Hard-to-remove battery parts
  • Bristles wear or feel harsh

quip earns mixed reviews: it looks refined and travels well, but its brushing performance trails true electric rivals. Reviews praise quip’s sleek, lightweight design, mirror-mounted travel cover, timed 30‑second pulses, and hassle-free refill heads (often with batteries). Many criticize weak vibrations that act more as a timer than a cleaner, bristles that feel too stiff or wear quickly, fragile heads and motors, hard-to-remove parts, and occasional mold or gunk buildup—some dentists urge switching to oscillating or higher-powered brushes.

  • This wasn’t for me. The toothbrush had one setting that didn’t do the trick. Changing the toothbrush head is NOT as easy as their videos made it seem. I actually cut my finger open with a deep gash trying to snap off/on the new replacement head and changing the battery. The battery does not last as long as they say either. So I needed to change the battery before my new replacement head and have to deal with how hard it is to get the head off in general. I got a ton of stains on my teeth as well because there is no setting to change the intensity. However, the subscription service is easy and nice, but overall I was unsatisfied. I think for kids it would be nice to get them going with an electric toothbrush, but dealing with the head replacement alone turned me off from ever using quip again. I prefer the oral B. Also, the travel cover gets gross fast and smells disgusting. You have to regularly clean it.

Make different settings on the brushes and make the heads easier to replace.

  • It's ok. Tends to be hard to clean, it doesn't also feel like it is as effective compared to other electric toothbrush products on the market. pros: - subscription for ease of delivery for head replacements - easy to travel with (versus other products) - the most impressive piece of this product was the glue adhesive that allowed the case to stick to multiple bathroom mirrors! ended up not continuing with the product as subscription and service didn't seem like it was worthwhile.

  • I do like the design and ease of the quip brush -- used it for almost 2 years. I wanted to replace a broken part on the brush and found the replacement process needlessly tedious and not quick enough (required I take multiple pictures of the crack in the brush part, too much back and forth conversation, CS wasn't responsive enough, etc) and that turned me off from the product to be honest. I was a longstanding customer, and the fact that I reached out once to replace a certain brush part and had to go through this process instead of them just sending me the small replacement piece (not a new brush, just one tiny plastic insert) left a proverbial bad taste in my mouth. I have since switched to the most affordable philips sonicare model -- which I like better because the vibrations are a little stronger and I feel like I'm getting a better clean.

  • I've been using quip for a few years now and I overall have a really good time with it. I need the automatic shipping because otherwise I would go on using the same toothbrush head for a loooong time. That is the best part for me.

The toothbrush can tend to get kind of grimy that I notice when I change out the heads and batteries. Toothpaste seems to work its way into where the head connects to the brush handle. It doesn't seem to cause any issues, just is kind of gross. The toothbrush cover that initially came with it that was able to stick to the mirror or wall lost most of that stick as soon as I moved it more than 4-5 times. It still works as a cover for traveling, but doesn't work super well as a toothbrush holder anymore.

  • LOVE my Quip! So sleek, no annoying wires, always feel like I get a good brush in, and hate when I have to use any other toothbrush. Only rated four stars because the travel container is not the best and feels like a breeding ground for bacteria, and sometimes the top is really freaking hard to get off and switch.

  • Doesn’t stand up which is annoying. Loses its battery life insanely fast and the vibration dies. Ended up being way less sustainable because I just bought something else.

  • The packaging is really nice, as is the toothbrush itself. I use an electric toothbrush at home. I definitely felt that it cleaned my teeth, but not as well as my ones at home. It is great for travel as it is a nice size.

Love the packaging and the brush itself. Only wish is cleaned a little bit better. Because I use it for travel, it would be nice if it came with a small nice case for the brush part.

  • It’s a great toothbrush for travels but not for everyday use if you’re looking for a electric toothbrush. Got this for my boyfriend and he didn’t like the size of the brush head.

  • A nice experience but the actual toothbrush is not high quality, I haven't had the body of the toothbrush for a year and it's already broken and won't turn on. Customer service is nice but nothing above normal. I don't really feel like it's comparable to other electric toothbrushes.

  • I have used Quip as a secondary toothbrush for travel and it's a great alternative to my usual Sonicare toothbrush. It lasts for quite a while and provides a better teeth cleaning experience than manual brushing, I feel. My only knock on it is that it's not quite as effective as the more expensive electronic toothbrushes, but it doesn't claim to be that either.

The battery can be a little tricky to change without feeling like you're going to break the toothbrush.

  • I think part of the issue is me... I just don't like "electric" toothbrushes. However, the Quip one was small. Like way small. And seemed... pointless? It still hangs on my mirror, which is a neat feature I guess... but I used it maybe twice and said no thanks.

    Feedback

Pretty pointless but they're aesthetically pleasing.

  • I had a quip for about a year and a half and I should’ve switched after six months. It’s a great minimalist toothbrush but it is falsely advertised as an electric toothbrush. Quip claims that the vibrations are actually a timer because of how minimal they are. In addition to that, the toothbrush would constantly stop working or turn on randomly even when I had just changed the battery or cleaned it. I filed a claim and it took them a long time to process it, and once they responded they were of little help.

  • My quip toothbrush would rarely cooperate and the mouthwash looks cool but the top fell off constantly. Bad design. Also irritating that I’ve definitely unsubscribed from their emails 6 months or more ago and continue to get one every once and a while. That’s not how an unsubscribe works….

  • Really wanted to love this product as traditional electric toothbrushes are so unsightly. However, even my own dentist was not impressed with the bristles for the brush and I have since returned to my old geriatic looking toothbrush.

    Feedback

The lack of a stand (I know it comes with one but its an extra part) makes access less easy. The brush cannot stand on its own. Even when located next to my old electric toothbrush, I always found myself reaching for the one that could stand on its own.

  • I purchased the quip gum to try out. The dispenser is really cool, but the gum is unremarkable. It loses flavor way too quick and I find myself eating several pieces just to keep flavor for a few minutes. Too bad you can’t use the dispenser for other brand gum.

    Feedback

I would suggest passing on the gum for now. Maybe in the future they can rework it to last longer.

  • Great quality, good customer service, and makes it better to create better habits. It’s not perfect but it’s better than average!

    Feedback

It’s not the best brush from a dental health perspective, but the price and quality are still good enough.

  • Originally loved the product because the new replacements kept my toothbrush nice and clean, but ultimately I went back to a sonicare as my dentist recommended it and said the quip didn’t seem to be cleaning my teeth as well.

    Feedback

Product innovation and better customer service. I had a brush head break once and cut my finger in the process, and it was complicated to get a replacement.

  • The primary reason I purchased this toothbrush was the sleek aesthetic and colorway (I'm the type of person who enjoys pops of pink throughout my home). The design & size also made it great for travel. However, after nearly a year of using it, I started developing issues with my oral hygiene, which was a first for me. I ultimately ditched my Quip and switched to a Philips Sonicare, which I felt to be more effective electric toothbrush for oral hygiene.

    Feedback

The toothbrush holder adhesive never stayed on the wall. The toothbrush merely vibrated, which barely added any value to a toothbrushing routine. Would be better if the movements were more powerful or the bristles rotated.

  • I had an earlier model so it's possible that issues that I had with the product have been fixed: my first Quip frequently had issues with water getting into the area where the battery is stored and shorting out the toothbrush. The company was great and sent me a replacement, but I still found that to be an area where water and residue tends to sneak into. In terms of actual use, I liked that it had the 30 second buzzes to let me know how much time has passed. The design is really sleek but I think the toothbrush and especially its stand are hard to keep clean. Overall I think it did a decent job keeping my teeth clean but I ultimately switched over to a different electric toothbrush that was more reliable.

    Feedback

I'd like to see a toothbrush that follows a more traditional electric toothbrush movement, such as having a round head that turns rather than just vibrating the bristles. I don't think as it works right now, it really can do as much cleaning as its competitors.
