Reviews mention

  • Sleek, minimalist design
  • Compact, travel-friendly form
  • Timed, guided brushing pulses
  • Convenient refill subscription
  • Weak cleaning vibration
  • Fragile head connection
  • Hard-to-remove battery parts
  • Bristles wear or feel harsh

quip earns mixed reviews: it looks refined and travels well, but its brushing performance trails true electric rivals. Reviews praise quip’s sleek, lightweight design, mirror-mounted travel cover, timed 30‑second pulses, and hassle-free refill heads (often with batteries). Many criticize weak vibrations that act more as a timer than a cleaner, bristles that feel too stiff or wear quickly, fragile heads and motors, hard-to-remove parts, and occasional mold or gunk buildup—some dentists urge switching to oscillating or higher-powered brushes.

  • I think this makes for a decent travel toothbrush but definitely not an everyday. I felt like I wasn't getting as good of a clean as will an electric brush with rotating brush heads. I do think the app compatibility is a cool feature.

    Feedback

Should make a version with rotating brush heads

  • I've used Quip for 1.5 years after it was gifted to me by my dentist in-laws. I really enjoyed the feel of the toothbrush—both the soft cylindrical grip and the mouthfeel of the electronic brush. As someone who maybe brushes a bit to hard and flattens my bristles, Quip was a nice reminder to change out my head every few months. However, I did stop using my Quip recently as toothpaste kept finding its way into the inside of the toothbrush and drying out in there (gross!).

    Feedback

Love the look & feel! Maybe find a way to keep toothpaste from drying up inside the brush?

  • Received Quip has a present. The product is great for an electric toothbrush, however I felt the upkeep to keep replacing was too much. A great option to have as a travel eclectic brush though!

  • I really love the look of this toothbrush and the ease of subscriptions so you get a new battery and brush head regularly. I also think the gamification aspect with the app is fun.

    Feedback

I wish they were a bit more sustainable, that they were made with sustainable materials.

  • I really tried to like the product, but overall it wasn’t anything special for the price.

    Feedback

I also would have preferred if the brush heads would be smaller.

  • I used my quip for a little over two years and really enjoyed it. I like how slim it is and the plastic cover makes it really great for travel.

    Feedback

To me, it doesn't do much better of a job than an ordinary manual toothbrush. The vibrations just tell you how long to brush and when to move to a new quadrant; they don't add anything to the physical scrubbing of the teeth.

  • I much prefer this to my old Oral-B. Easy to store two (my partner also has one) since they don't have an external charger. The subscription makes it easy to remember to change the head.

    Feedback

the only thing that keeps me from giving Quip 5 stars is I feel like it has a much smaller range of motion than the traditional electric toothbrush which takes a little getting used to. But overall, I'd rather have my Quip as it's less junky, stays cleaner longer, takes up less space, and is easier to travel with.

  • I have had my quip toothbrush for almost two years now. I love how small and compact it is for travel. I have been traveling for a few months now and love the cover that allows me to throw it in any bag when I am on the move.

    Feedback

I have no complaints about this product.

  • Just OK. It is a little better if need something for traveling. For every day use a “normal” electric toothbrush works much better. It is also a little annoying to open up and replace the battery. I would skip it and buy an electric toothbrush. The toothbrush is designed really pretty. The mouthwash just goes everywhere when try to pour it out and the floss broke 3 times. They did always replace it. More design over function with this brand.

  • It didn’t feel like it was moving enough to get the job done. Felt kind of cheap for what the price was at the time. The cap part gets gross after a while but I loved being able to store my brush on my mirror to free counter space.

    Feedback

Make cap part easily cleanable and can restick it to mirror. Stronger mechanics focused on moving the brush head and not the entire brush holder itself.

  • I have been using a Quip toothbrush for a few years now and I really like it. The brush still works just as well as when I got it and I don't even need to replace the battery as often as they say you need to.

    Feedback

As my brush has gotten older, a gap has started to form between the brush head and the base, which is a little gross. But it's also getting pretty old, so probably normal wear and tear.

  • I never tried their toothbrushes but their gum is terrible. It's generic ingredients hiding behind the veil of cool packaging. I guess that can be said for many brands during this time period though.

  • I really wanted to like this brand. It was probably one of the first DTC brands I bought into. While the subscription aspect is nice and makes replacing the brush head and toothpaste effortless, the product itself is horrible. I went through multiple replacements throughout the 2-3 years I was a user/subscriber because water would always get into the chamber with the battery and motor and cause the parts to stop working.

    Feedback

If they redesigned the toothbrush so that the battery wasn’t directly where you replace the brush head, the product might have a better lifespan.

  • I am not a fan of the Quip toothbrush. I've been using it for years, mostly because I feel like it would be wasteful to throw out (and I keep forgetting to cancel my subscription for new brush heads). The stand and cover get moldy incredibly easily and they are nearly impossible to clean properly. It is easy to travel with, which is a plus, but I find myself replacing the battery pretty often to get it to work at full strength. If you are considering an electric toothbrush, I would save up a little and splurge on a different brand.

  • Dentist said it’s the worst toothbrush to use-avoid!

    Feedback

    Doesn’t actually clean teeth.

  • I like quip alot. I had the toothbrush and floss. Loved that it was cute and refillable, for sustainable reasons. However, the brush on the toothbrush is hard to change. It ended up breaking for me while trying to change a few times, even cut me once. I had to throw it away because it got stuck.

  • This is trendy and not worth it. My brush broke after 8 months of use. Invest in a real electric toothbrush

    Feedback

The bristles don't feel like they are doing a deep clean of my teeth

  • I loved the look and portability of the quip toothbrush and I never got a bad report from the dentist when I was using these toothbrushes. I did like that it had a tongue scrubber on the back of the brush head and the bristles were also very soft.

    Feedback

I would have continued to use this product if it was rechargeable. I didn’t like receiving batteries and having to replace that every three months. A battery exploded in one of my quip toothbrushes and it was very easy to write them and get a replacement.
