Reviews mention

  • Exceptional durability and construction
  • Lightweight warmth in jackets
  • Versatile, travel-friendly designs
  • Credible sustainability and repairs
  • Inconsistent, confusing apparel sizing
  • Occasional fleece pilling issues
  • Delicate nano puff shell fabric
  • Mixed wind and waterproof performance

Patagonia earns overwhelmingly positive reviews and proves itself a good brand: gear is exceptionally durable, warm, and versatile across activities, with standouts like the Nano Puff, Better Sweater, Synchilla fleeces, Atom Sling, and Black Hole bags. Reviews also flag drawbacks—frequent comments on high pricing, inconsistent or tricky sizing (especially women’s bottoms), occasional fleece pilling and Nano Puff snags, a few wind/waterproof performance gaps, and muted styling for some tastes—making in‑store try‑ons and product selection key.

  • Quality durable materials that are nearly a necessity in the PNW.

  • There is a reason you see a lot of doctors, nurses, and even dentists wearing the Patagonia Better Sweater! It is warm and a lovely layering piece underneath a rain coat. It is a high quality piece that I can tell is going to last me several seasons. It is perfect for Pacific Northwest fall, winter, and spring, and even during the summer evenings.

  • Every piece I own is 10+ years old and looks brand new. Not sure what they are doing there, but wow. Arc'teryx could never!

  • Will always love Patagonia!! Great brand, great mission, great outlook. I love what they do for the world and their clothing is always quality. Very worth the money, IMO!

  • From their outerwear to their provisions, Patagonia makes incredible products with impeccable quality.

  • Love all my Patagonia items. The lifetime guarantee cannot be beat. I've walked into a store with an old down jacket in really rough shape and walked out with a brand new one right off the rack for a total of $0. Expensive but literally lasts a lifetime

  • Love their brand. I have an array of their clothing items. I love their quarter zips

  • Their outerwear is well constructed and durable. It will keep you warm in the harshest weather and is quite fashionable too. It has a great resale value (if your child grows out of it) The company also offers repair services so they will repair your old jacket rather than it going to a land fill. I also love the founder Yvon Chouinard’s outlook and their environmental mission.

  • I have never bought something from Patagonia that was not of the best quality. We had a problem with a zipper on a coat, sent it back and it fixed and returned to us in perfect condition. I love the mission and the way this company is giving back.

  • One of my favourite brands no matter the type of product. I have multiple fleeces, a long parka, and a gore tex jacket. I love their advocacy and their sustainability. All the products I own have been excellent quality and my older ones have lasted years at this point and continue to look great. I have not used their repair service but think it's an excellent idea to prolong the life of their products. Although their products are not cheap, I think they are worth it especially with their investment for the environment. I recommend their products to everyone in my life.

  • Good quality outerwear for variety of climate conditions. The fleeces and vests in particular are great for layering.

  • I have a hat among other apparel from Patagonia. I really love the things I have from this brand, they're comfortable and well made.

I like the sustainability and quality of the products. While they are expensive, the quality is outstanding and the pieces really will last a while.

  • I received my first Patagonia from a previous job but I love it so much I still wear it regularly. I appreciate that it's thin but warm, making it easy for commutes on the train or hiking. It's also easy to roll up and throw in your purse or backpack if the weather warms up without notice.

  • good quality warm clothes

    A little bit expensive, but they’re eco-friendly…

  • Patagonia is my go-to for any outdoorsy apparel. For as long as I can remember, my ski jacket + pants have been made by Patagonia.

  • I love Patagonia. I love all their products and all are still in great shape after many years. I use their vests, fleece, which does not pill, underwear, pants etc. Many items I use for travel and hiking. I also love that their owner donates lots of money to nature and environment.

  • My patagonia products will stay with me for my entire life--the quality, crafstmanship, brand ethics and policies make patagonia my go-to for adventure or outdoor apparel. I have many products -- a large backpack, ski jackets, etc. they are all great.

These products are worth investing in.

  • Patagonia has quality products, big catalog, customer service, and guarantees on clothes. Their company is also more people-based than others, and its mission and values are clear in their day-to-day operations. Especially like their sustainability practices.

  • Patagonia is a quality brand. everything I have from them lasts for so long. The patagonia baggie shorts are my favorite thing to wear and I have 3 (three) pairs!
