Reviews mention

  • Transformative bond-repair technology
  • Highly concentrated, efficient formulas
  • Salon-fresh, clean fragrance
  • Standout purple toning performance
  • Occasional drying shampoo texture
  • Heavy residue on fine hair
  • Purple pigment staining risk
  • Inconsistent long-term results

OLAPLEX delivers noticeable repair and shine for many—especially bleached and color‑treated hair—with standouts like No. 3 Hair Perfector, No. 6 Bond Smoother, No. 7 Bonding Oil, and the 4P Purple Shampoo frequently praised in reviews. However, reviews also flag drawbacks: some experience dryness, heaviness or greasiness, residue, overly strong toning or staining from purple products, mixed or short‑lived results, and concerns about overuse or sensitivity, making OLAPLEX effective but not universally foolproof.

  • I have really oily hair and this is the best shampoo and conditioner I have found. Other brands don’t make my hair feel as clean but Olaplex is great. The purple shampoo is also fantastic

  • I love these products..my hair felt much softer and hydrated after the first time I used their shampoo and conditioner. High quality products.

  • favorite thing for my hair. i’ve tried a lot of products and nothing compares to Olaplex.

    Works for OLAPLEX
  • Olaplex helped my hair SO much when I was letting the blonde highlights grow out and I could see the breakage from blonde and summer hair. The oil is unmatched, I still use it when I style my hair with heat and the shampoo and conditioner not only smell good but they work great to help damaged or regular hair!!

  • I used to use the wrong hair care for so long but after using this product I was amazing with gm the results. All my friends said I just looked like I walked out of the salon once a week all from this brand

  • Full of synthetic fragrances, endocrines disruptors as well as toxic chemicals that can affect fertility.

  • I used one of their hair bonders for a while and I really liked it. I didn't notice a huge improvement in my hair, but I also wasn't the most consistent.

  • I’ve used this brand of products for quite a while, and it is one of the best brands that I’ve used on my hair. Go ahead and get the entire product line , it is worth it!

  • Every Olaplex I've tried has left my hair feeling greasy and weighed down. I really wanted to love this since I've heard great things but it just is not for fine hair in my opinion. Also, I left the Blond Enhance shampoo on for 2 minutes and it left my newly highlighted hair purple! Careful with this one. It's strong!

  • Love every single product of Olaplex!!!

  • my hair is a very kinky natural texture as well as colored, so i wanted to use products that are known to help repair and restore hair, especially after color treatments. the shampoo cleanses my hair and scalp very well. i havent tried the conditioner but i;ve heard it doesn't have great slip for detangling. i love using the bond intense moisture mask and the hair perfector before i go in the shampoo that way my hair doesn't feel so stripped of moisture. i will keep using olaplex!

  • I love olaplex. It’s so luxurious and is so, so good for my hair. I have highlighted blonde hair and the purple shampoo is amazing. I love every olaplex product.

  • I like the shampoo and conditioner but not my favorite. Good for dry or damaged hair that is on the thicker side.

  • Not a gigantic fan of any of their products. Completely overrated in terms of repairing hair like it says it does. Is it worth the money for just a shampoo and conditioner? No. Their products aren’t anything to be excited about. Basic.

  • I've used No 3 the hair perfector, and I have to say - if you use it correctly (not as a conditioner, but follow the directions on the bottle!) it really does something different from conditioners and hair masks. My hair is slipperier, smoother, and shinier. I don't always notice when the effect fades, maybe a week? It requires a decent time commitment with wet hair, so it's a weekend (or WFH camera off) pamper product, but it does have a really nice effect.

  • I really like their products, but it's not built for thin hair. Makes my hair pretty flat.

  • Product is really worth it for heavily color treated hair, especially fine hair. A little bit of the stuff goes a long way for those of you with fine hair. I have the hair oil, shampoo and conditioner and I have fine hair - it doesn't weigh it down either if you don't use too much. I love the silkiness it gives dyed hair. Removing 1 star for the reason I stopped buying it: I really don't like the packaging. It's annoying to get the last bits out because it doesn't taper, the lids get stuck sometimes in the shower, the labels are impossible to get off for recycling, and the plastic is so thick that I don't think it's actually recyclable. I actually stopped buying it in 2019 because of the packaging and (perceived or real - idk!) lack of sustainability. I recommend it for people with really damaged hair and a lack of other options. Otherwise there are plenty of other hair oils and shampoo/conditioners out there that are more sustainable.

  • Love the hair oil. Smooths my hair and goes a long way. Good with other products too.
