Reviews mention

  • Potent bond-repair technology
  • Luxurious clean fragrance
  • Highly concentrated formulas
  • Effective brass-neutralizing pigment
  • Inconsistent results across hair
  • Potentially drying formulas
  • Heavy feel on fine hair
  • Staining purple pigment

OLAPLEX earns polarized reviews: it visibly strengthens and revives bleached or damaged hair—No. 3 Hair Perfector, No. 6 Bond Smoother, No. 7 Bonding Oil, and the 4P Purple Shampoo are frequent standouts—yet many users report dryness, heaviness, or even increased shedding and brittleness if overused. The brand is praised for salon-clean scent, rich lather, and fast toning, but criticized for inconsistent results across hair types and small, hard-to-dispense bottles.

  • I use Olaplex 6, 7, and 8 regularly. All have made a noticeable difference in my hair’s strength and condition. number 8 especially is a game changer.

  • I've used the No.4 shampoo and the No.5 conditioner. At first I was obsessed with the shampoo because this stuff lathers unlike any other shampoo I've ever used, it smells great too. After using it for some time though I feel like my hair has developed a rough texture and is VERY fluffy/coarse even after straightening it (and I have oil prone, limp straight hair typically). In respect to the conditioner, I wouldn't waste your money. It literally slides right off wet hair and doesn't seem to soak in. I leave it on for 30-60 seconds and my hair doesn't feel softer or detangled at all after rinsing it out. Additionally, I've noticed it leaves an awfully waxy residue after drying and left my baby hairs looking like they'd been electrocuted.

I love the lather, but it seems to damage hair after long term use.

  • I have seen a little bit of improvement in my hair since using Olaplex, but I have to wonder if it is worth the hype and the price. I know there are other products on the market that can do similar things to my hair. I know it is all about the luxury experience - and maybe thats just what you're paying for. I like the smell, the shampoo lathers lovely and a little goes a long way with almost all of their products which is always a plus

I would suggest more instruction and information about how to use these specially formulated products. Everyone assumes that it's just regular hair care products that everyone knows how to use, but at this price point I would love some more info!

  • I returned the mask. It is overrated. I returned it and will never use it again.

  • Was recommended to get these products by my hairstylist. I have thin, blonde hair and it goes through a lot every two months so this brand has been a lifesaver. Makes my hair feel and look soft and strengthens it after every salon visit.

  • I love Olaplex and their bonding oil! Their oil really helps my repair breakage and damaged ends. I have colored my hair a bunch and you can tell that it has taken a toll on my hair, but this oil helps make my hair look and feel smoother and healthier.

  • I love olaplex!! I use the Bond Smoother and the Bonding Oil, and it just feels luxurious and helps me style my hair on my oilier days. It smells divine, and allows my hair to be refreshed and replenished as I go throughout my day.

  • Didn’t notice positive results . The Olaplex N3 actually made my hair shed instead of strengthen it .

  • I love the bonding oil but the hair masks just aren’t great. i have dry hair but after using the shampoo and conditioner it left it extremely greasy. Also it is very easy to over use the products which can lead to brittle hair. Use with caution.

  • Just okay - I would choose something different for my hair. The price point and overall results are not worth it in my opinion.

  • The number 3 is my favorite along with the hair oil and shampoo and conditioner! I enjoy taking showered just so I can wash my hair with their products. They make my hair soooo soft!

  • Love this brand !! The hair oils are perfect

  • I have given most all of the Olaplex products a try for six weeks or more. When I started using the product, my hair looked and felt fabulous. After long term use, my fine hair started to look oily and lacked volume, even using the clarifying shampoo as instructed. I am back to using Purology Nanoworks Gold.

  • Excelentes roductos para el cuidado y reparacion del cabello.

  • I'm a huge fan of the N. 4P Blonde Enhancer Toning Shampoo (AKA the purple shampoo). I use it as a color toner to avoid brassy strands on my highlights, besides my regular cleansing shampoo. Just a bit of it goes a long way toning-wise, so the bottle last a good amount of time, which justifies the price tag. One suggestion: Pour the product on the palms of your hands and lather it before applying to the hair. Direct application over very light hair can leave some purple drops on it for a while.

  • Didn't really live up to the hype - and didn't improve my hair's condition enough to warrant the price tag (if at all).

  • recommended by my hairstylist. When I bleached my hair, my hairstylist personally recommended me this product. So i am glad to see it when Sephora start carrying it

  • I have loved Olaplex products for a while. I have been using their moisturizing hair mask, which definitely gives my hair a lift when it needs it.

  • I have enjoyed using olaplex shampoo and conditioners but they are a bit over priced. For a product I go through pretty quickly if rather stick to something more economical.

  • Olaplex can’t be beat for keeping hair healthy. Worth the cost, especially the hair masks!
