Necessaire earns mixed-to-positive reviews: the brand delivers sensorial, spa-like body care—especially Eucalyptus and Sandalwood Body Washes, the Body Exfoliator, Body Serum, select deodorants, and a well-loved mineral Sunscreen—yet several reviewers find formulas average for the hype and small sizes. Strengths include chic, functional packaging, gentle options for sensitive skin, and standout scents; weaknesses surface around inconsistent deodorant efficacy/irritation, lotion and serum being light for very dry skin, occasional faulty pumps or hard-to-empty tubes, and scents (celery/oregano notes, weak longevity) not pleasing everyone.
AI summary based on Thingtesting reviews
The Necessaire fragrance free line is remarkable. I use their hand cream, lotion, body serums, and deodorant. The lotion in the pump bottle is super thick and nourishing; i've gone through several bottles by now. I keep a container of their hand cream in my car, office, and bedside table.

I feel like I got duped into buying packaging. It IS nice packaging. I like the unique twist cap. At almost $30 for like 8 ounces, it’s wildly expensive. I tried the hinoki scent that has AHA in it, and I didn’t like the scent at all (though my boyfriend did) and I didn’t see a difference in my skin smoothness. It went quickly and we don’t have the bottle anymore. I also have the Santal one, which I think smells better. But it’s not worth it for me to purchase again.

I bought the deodorant gel in sandalwood. I was pretty excited because sandalwood is my favorite scent. I think the formula is great, and the packaging is chic, but the scent is more patchouli, and smells like toms of Maine did in the 90s.

I received this as a gift from a friend since I was curious, but would likely not repurchase at full price. I know they're well known for their body wash, but I honestly found the body wash too stripping for my slightly sensitive skin. I've used both the fragrance-free and fragrance options, but the fragrance-free scent is a little offputting. The body lotion however is much more enjoyable to use and is heavy enough yet not sticky, but nothing to write home about either, when you can buy a drugstore brand performing the exact same thing.

Beautifully packaged products that feel luxurious yet simple. I've tried the body wash in both the eucalyptus and sandalwood scents and love both. The scents are not overpowering and smell very natural. I did love the body exfoliator in the sandalwood scent. I liked the moisturizer though I don't think it's special enough to buy again and again for the price - it was a nice treat while it lasted. The body oil is next to try on my list.

Really cool packaging, I bought the hand moisturizer after seeing it so many times on my Instagram feed. It keeps my hands moisturized. I chose the unscented one so I can’t really comment on their scented options. But overall I like bringing it in my purse as a moisturizer for winter times.

Purchased the mini set for hair (shampoo, conditioner, and hair serum) but unfortunately it didn’t do anything for me. I have thick hair and almost emptied the entire shampoo bottle because it doesn't lather well. The conditioner wasn’t moisturizing and there was no noticeable hair growth when I used the hair serum on my scalp.

I purchased the Necessair eucalyptus deodorant. While the scent is nice and airy, I did not find that I fell in love with the deodorant. It can be that I am not used to this form of deodorant. However, I would not use this on a day that I know I will be sweating a lot. I love the packaging and I also would like to try other products of theirs. I'm hoping I can grow to love it.

I love the Body Wash and Body Exfoliator in Eucalyptus and wish other items like the Body Lotion came in the fragrances. It’s a great gift for someone who cares about quality skin care and the packaging is nice.

I would like more fragrance options for products that are only fragrance free.

I started using the Body Wash in eucalyptus and the Body Lotion and have reordered. The fragrance of the body wash is very subtle and not overpowering. It lathers so nicely and a little goes a long way. As for the lotion, it was good but it can get expensive if you use a lot of it. How can I not talk about the packaging?! I actually want to display the bottles in my bathroom.

Would love to see more fragrance options for the lotion.

I received the Necessaire body wash as a birthday gift and I’m really enjoying it so far. I love the eucalyptus scent. It leaves my skin feeling really hydrated and soft. It is a bit pricey but you get a lot of product for what you pay. Would be interested in purchasing other items from this brand.

I heard amazing things about the Necessaire deodorant, so I immediately tried. I have to say, I was pretty disappointed. I think overall it worked okay, but because the deodorant is fragrance free, I think it does less than some natural deodorant alternatives to mask odor. Also, the deodorant is pushed up through holes, which is less preferable to me than stick deodorants. My least favorite thing about the deodorant is that when the deodorant oxidized on the sides of the tube, it showed as a red residue. I have mostly wiped off my tube but you can see in the photo there are still remnants of red where the cap twists on. I hadn't used it in a little while then brought it on a trip - I was a little embarrassed to open it in front of others.

I tried their body wash and lotion while it isn't bad it's not the greatest. I do love my moisturizers and body wash on the thicker side. I also tried their deodorant and i am shocked by how much i gravitated toward to. I am a very sweaty girl, and usually, i have to keep changing my deodorant every two weeks or so because my body gets used to it and it stops working. But with this deodorant i must say it is a must-have it feels refreshing under the armpits, i sweated less and it felt really comfortable on the skin!

So far I’ve tried their body lotion and it’s amazing. I keep a travel size version with my in my purse and it absorbs fast and is non greasy. It’s also fragrance free so it doesn’t interfere with my perfumes.

So far, I’ve only tried the body wash in Sandalwood scent and I honestly love it! Yes, it’s pricey ($25 for 8.4fl oz) but the smell & feel of the body wash make me feel like I’m using a luxe brand so I didn’t mind the price point too much. My skin always feels really soft afterwards AND the scent stays on for a while. It’s not too strong but, also not too subtle. 👌 I definitely plan on purchasing again!

I found the twist open/close cap to be a smart solution for when hands are full of soap but I did have occasional issues where the cap didn’t snag/catch properly.

The worst experience I've ever had with a company. I purchased several products from Necessaire, but the Neck Firming Serum caused a severe allergic reaction. The Rosemary Shampoo/Conditioner left my hair oily (I have fine, balanced hair, not oily) and limp. The Firming Lotion was okay, but nothing great. However, I emailed company 2x regarding the reaction and never heard back, so I wanted to share my experience. Photos are below- I'd rethink ordering from Necessaire, especially given the poor customer service.

Necessaire body wash was ok. I didn't feel specially hydrated or soft but it smelled like a spa in my bathroom. For that reason I would recommend but I am sure we can get cheaper options out there that still have a spa like smell.

Thick mineral sunscreen, feels goo on the whole body with great coverage

I purchased Necessaire due to targeted ads and social media hype, however, the items did not live up to their competitors and I will not purchase again. The body wash, deodorant and scalp treatment were not as luxe as presented and did not feel "special" compared to similar products. Glad I tried but will not be a repeat customer.

Expensive but very worth it because one bottle of the body wash lasts me several months. Santal is my favorite scent, but the others are really nice as well -- not too strong or overpowering but a nice subtle scent. My go to body wash from now on!
